This and "some day we'll all be free" brings me almost to tears because this was music that meant something. It made me (still does) feel good to be black and that we'll be free of the bondage of this world. RIP Donny no one had a voice like you. Where has this music gone? Well technically it's not gone nor forgotten but I would love for artist to create this music again.

Damn they just don't make lyrics like this - don't get me wrong but today's artists should really take an ear full of this song. This song isn't talking about being black the color but staying true to yourself - don't compromise your integrity or yourself respect and don't sell your self short for any one especially for fans or the industry. Many of today's artist chase down the fame, riches, awards and all the other materialistic garbage totally forgetting the art of their true talents. And all those foolish fans who worship them like Gods and Goddesses also fall victim and everyone wonders why their lives suck so badly. But this is a powerful life lesson in general. Don't compromise to society's mumbo-jumbo nonsense. Stay focus on your personal road to success God put us all here for a specific purpose and as long as we don't go off track which we will often do anyway but as long as just let God guide us and admit we can't possibly go it all by ourselves God will definitely put us where we need to be Amen.
