For the longest time, I thought the first line of this song was "welcome home, wow-wee!" Seemed very un-Rise Against lyrically, but hey, I liked it.

6/8 and 3/4 are a same speed. 6/8 is subdivided, which means you count it in 8th beats rather than how you would could count 3/4 as quarter notes. For example, 3/4 = 1,2,3,4 ; 6/8 = 1,2,3,4,5,6 Yet both would span in the same time frame so yes, I supposed technically you count the beats in 6/8 at a faster rate but the groupings as a whole add out the same.

I've counted 6/8, 3/4, and 4/4 in some parts.
(For future reference, easy way to tell time signatures based on counting and 'the "feel" you get of it:
6/8 is counted 1+a 2+a, in triplets, while 3- and 4/4 are counted in 2-- 1+ 2+, so on. The more you know!)

Pretty much. Time signatures like 3/4 and 6/8 are traditionally used in waltz music, and that's essentially why i love hearing it so much, especially in rock music. The idea of a people waltzing to something so heavy is a mental image I like allot.
