A galera dessa época tocava demais, puta qui pariu. Baixo, batera, metaleira, guitarra um melhor que o outro.
All the OLDIES bring back memories and theres a message in all my oldes songs AND I 💘 THEM
My Fancy Dudes for Sure!
Please post the entire concert
🌍❤🎶🎶
They killed this performance!!
Saw this when it originally aired, thanks for posting!!!! Year I graduated from 8th grade!
The Commodores. Need I say more?
Noel Z Wiseman ...NOP...
I'm still a die hard Commodores fan. Been to their concerts in every decade since the 70s. Their live shows are still awesome. COMMODORE COUNTRY!!
This was the Funky Commodores
HAPPY 69TH BIRTHDAY WILLIAM "WAK" KING (JANUARY 30, 2018)
Oh, Gawd i love them back the, and with or without lionel i love them all the same
I want that perfect afro. I get regular comments on my fro...but my fro aint ever been as perfectly shaped as the ones from the70s
NOW THEY WERE TIGHTER THAN A VIRGIN'S PUSSY.YEAH I SAID IT.
Breaker breaker!
seen them last weekend. 2 original members, Walter Orange and William king. plus J. d . Nicholas from Heatwave who had been with them for 35 years. they got down. gr8 show.
It baffles me why people call Lionel Ritchie a sell out, if you you are a true fan of the commodors, you would know they were a diverse group, Country, Pop, Gospel, Funk they did it all.
Jealous...
Lame excuse!
funkordie100 nothing lame bout that bcause he was black one time
Dancing on the ceiling.. Totally lost me.
Hey, After He Left The Commodores, He Just Had An Appeal To Where He Ended Up Writing Songs That Appealed To A Lot Of Caucasian Folks...RESULT OF THOSE SONGS WAS THIS...$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
They killed it !!!!!!!!! Lionel vocals is across between Leroy Bonner (Ohio Players) and Ray Charles.
INCREIBLE SONG INCREIBLE VIDEO I LIKE THIS VIDEO I LOVEEEEEEE TOGETHER FANTASTIC
The Commodores, Earth Wind and Fire, The Ohio Players, The Isley Brothers and Paliament- Funkadelics had. Detroit on lock back in the day. We felt like they belonged to us, and every street in our area had their music blasting on Saturday morning car wash and lawn cutting days.
Such an amazing era in black music. Not just the funk, but brothas could slow it down and saaang too. Songs of consciousness about our world back then. And as a band, you had to be able to "turn it out" at a show
Dude clowning with that guitar,lol...
skin tight and ohio players sounding song but still funky
Doesn't sound like Skin Tight at all.
They were influenced by group ohio players though. Lionel said in interview few yrs ago that he tried or wanted to sound like Sugarfoot; he thought thats what he should sound like doing funk
The pre-watered down version of Lionel Richie...sigh...what memories
I agree with you but like richard pryor said aint nothing like those crossover $$$$$$$$$
Its called musical growth, a lot of fans want you to stay in a box, real artist don't comform to that. of course i like the stuff he did with the commodors, but i like his solo stuff as well.
the single entered Cashbox Dec 25, 1976
They killed it!! Best version!!
Do you have the whole concert?
Commadores had a very good live album. It's was a two record set that really jammed
1977 Commodore's musical extravaganza!!
That album is 🔥🔥
@Steven Vela 👊🏾
Growing Up, Walter Orange Was The Reason I Wanted To Play The Drums ..... He's Holding It All Down.
that is a fantastic reason to play drums.
"Visions of you my love, dancing in my head..." Yeah baby, superlative funk at it's very best!!!
I saw The Commodores on this tour when they came through Sacramento. "Hot On The Tracks" album had just released. They tore the roof off the place!!
Like The Clock We Do the Same talk .
One of the premier bands of all time. They surely had one the wickedest drummers of all time. The Commodores are living legends.
i hope this video makes your day. machine gun cover in all its glory
as for the band, while classified under many genres, they keep funk a live.

Yes, boys and girls, there once was a time when Lionel Richie was cool.
He's still cool!
while i do agree with you. lionel is doing alot of this stuff in his shows now. at 63 yrs old he still brings quite a bit of energy when doing brickhouse. and he sounds good performing the song. walter orange, who sang brickhouse on the album and in shows, but lionel sounds good doing it too and could have performed the song back in the day
I know you weren't, but i would say that all of the funk bands were as good as each other, because they all laid it down, and had kick ass shows. Also, their T-Neck recordings are really great, ESPECIALLY Winner Takes All. That one is too bad!!!
Blake, I'm not knocking The Commodores, they were fantastic band but I personally prefer The Isley brothers. They were absolutely amazing.
Listen to the Isley Brothers version of Ohio, it's sheer class.
Change of the times my man. Between 1981 and 1982, all of the deadly funky bands of the 70's went to more of that pop sound. That was the day music died, and now we have Lil Wayne, and Beyonce, and 1D, the list goes on. Sad, sad, sad. The only ones that really stayed remotely funky, was George Clinton, and James Brown.
not right or wrong in this debate. these groups of this era were superb.. Now this crap today... I will argue against... ...
Maybe not funkier, but to say 'not as good', that's a pretty bad statement. :(
I heard that!!
Are Lionel's pants the pre-cursor to Larry Blackmon's codpieces?
Too bad Lionel Richie grew old too fast.
Thank you, for song.
@ 4:10 - Brutha Lionel said " Shake it around"!!!!
This is the cut that ALWAYS comes to mind FIRST whenever I think about The Commodores...NOT Brick House!!!
Yeahhhhh!!!!!!!
I saw him do this on tour when he was in Paris and he sure looked like he was enjoying himself .
I really like this song the first time I heard them perform it on a rerun of soul train last year....
@CoolStuffZone i do agree with you. lionel realized where the music was going and probably wanted to continue to grow...but he is more or less doing this music now when he performs and he and a couple of the commodores have performed together in recent years although there has been no official reunion with all of the remaining members
@CoolStuffZone up to 60 years old and funky on stage?? GEORGE CLINTON, PRINCE, MACEO PARKER..........isn't it enough? ;)
It's not so much that he left funk, the music listeners changed their likes. Disco started around this era, so Commodores went into more like Brick House for example. Funk defined this era..but after the few great bands, it went more towards dance music, disco. Although this was a great song to dance to, but sure had that great funky beat. Still one of my favorite bands of those times.
@SlickFunker I think the Commodores had a better live show than the Isley Bro.and i'm a huge Isley Bro. fan,but they never were that great live back in the day.
funkordie100 absolutely no group could touch the commodores live performances.
Check the horns. The sound is forever hitting.
BUD-LITE,,,,,,SOUNDS TO GOOD-THIS SONG IS WHIPPIN IT!!!
Lionel Richie probably stopped doing Funk, because music taste changed and he didn't want to stop selling records. He also got older and this type of music is for the young, or at least the young at heart. Can you imagine a 50 or 60 year old doing this on stage :) Funk and R&B is definitely my favorite music genre.
How about maybe he just wanted to do something different musically, he really is just a country boy.
funkordie100 well if you do soli projects u can't keep the same sound it won't sell
@narxstephanie My late grandfather always wanted the Commodores to get back together. Hopefully I'll get a chance to witness it but he will def be in spirit with me.
SMOKIN!!!! BEFORE LIONEL SOLD OUT!
Growing musically is not selling out, what true artist wants to keep doing the same shit over and over. thats boring as fuck!
funkordie100 Sellout.
Schön sehr schön,Musik ist ja gut für die Ohr,gatulations....
if they ever get back together i will be there in the front roll it would be great
True some members have dropped out but the group has never broken up. They still tour today. Grammy for NightShift.... without Lionel
Delicioso!!!
In Concert The Isley Brothers couldnt hold the Commodores boots! Saw both groups several times...No comparison! I'm old school what yo do in the studio doesnt count it's what you do live that speaks of your real talent! Just my humble opinion...Peace
WHY DID LIONEL LEAVE ALL THAT FUNK BEHIND????
they need to reunite
@SlickFunker agreed....couldnt touch the versatility of the isley brothers
That's FUNKKY......
yea , I was 15 back then, time to get moving
I fail to understand why The Commodores are NOT in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Like Kool and The Gang, they are LOOOOOONG overdue for induction. I'm ALL for Lionel Richie getting inducted but NOT before The Commodores.
@SlickFunker are you crazy
I meant StunnaShades09.
@StunningShades09: Lionel ain't no nigga no mo. lol
this song is the shizzznit
Ah jeez ! man i would so appreciate some of this kind of music in this day and age !! Amazing performance from legendary Commodores.
i love this song
@chakafan2 actually i read this comment from you a few days ago....im betting that what you say is true....as they described it...once berry gordy had produced all the big motown acts he looked and there the commodores were...they were basically the last of the motown acts by then and they were not as popular as e,w&f and some of the other r&b groups of the day...when i was a kid i really thought i was the only one who liked the commodores lol
Hit #9 soul, #39 pop in Billboard. RIP, Milan. God bless!
One of my bigger musical regrets -- not having seen the Commodores and The Jackson Five together in concert. Not sure how long they toured together, but it must have been a great ride.
"Everybody, Get on Up. Shake Your Booty"!
Yes and no. Most of the material he wrote ALONE was the type of stuff he was known for as a solo artist (ie., "Easy", "3 Times A Lady", "Still"), but when he wrote in collaboration with the other members of the band--particularly guitarist Thomas McClary--he was decidedly funkier.
All the original Commodores here are at their funkiest in this video ,"fancy dancer". This is real soul and they really heat up the stage. Love it. Would love to obtain a copy of this performance on dvd along with their other 70's performances.
I dare anyone to watch this video and then watch Lionel Ritchie's Dancing on the Ceiling video and not shake your head in disgust. How does someone so funky in '76 get completely drained of the funk by the mid '80s? Getting paid I guess.
Mistachill yepp
It is what it is. He wasnt the greatest dancer even then if you watch him lol. He always said he wasnt freed until someone around the band told him to write what he felt. Thats where the slower songs started showing up more and more. You watch shows from arou 79 until he left, he was already becoming different dude. Some of those last shows you can find online, they were more or less his back up group by then anyway. Said in an interview he was the brotha in college with a Cream lp under his arm, was told easy was too white for black radio. Had to be true to himself whichever way it took him. All that said, he did pop out like a mug lmao
@Gdub52o He actually said he didn't want to leave the Commodores so I'm not sure I buy that version of his departure.
This is when the Commodores where Hot!!!!!
YEAH BABY......now THIS is the Commodores that I remember growing up to!!!! Go ahead on and PLAY YO FUNK fella's!!!
