Richard, Cliff - Up In Canada Lyrics

When I was up in Canada, I didn't have much money
My shoes had holes and my feet were cold,
My nose was kinda runny. (it wasn't funny)
I met a longhair on the street,
He said, "Look, you look like you'd like to eat."
I said, "A glass of Coke and a hotdog's fine,"
He said, "Well, how 'bout some bread and a glass of wine?"

Lead me on, lead me on, lead me on,
Lead me on where you're going.
You know my body's tired by my heart's inspired,
My hunger's growing.
Lead me on, lead me on, lead me on,
Lead me on where you're going.
You know my body's tired by my heart's inspired,
My hunger's growing.

He took a loaf of Wonder bread, and then he bowed his head,
And then he filled my cup, "Drink it up," he said.
It tasted better than the health food blend.
He looked straight into my eyes - I was quite surprised!
He said, "You're locked inside but I can set you free,
And you will live forever if you follow me."

Cliff's scarf comes from a time when they didn't have the technology to easily blur out trademark tee-shirts. :) Great video thank you!

This has got to be the best gospel song Cliff has done to date; so catchy with a great melody

Really..this was a gospel song...seriously, give me break...there was nothing gospel about it

Nice!  One of a few Larry Norman songs that Cliff has covered.  I believe "I wish we'd all been ready" is on the same album.  I would love to know if Cliff has ever sung "Why don't you look into Jesus".  Oh hang on this is YouTube...I'll soon find out!

    T.... ....

Nope!  "Why should the devil have all the good music" is also on Small Corners.  A great album, by the way.

2:22 if only we could be as superior as the piano man and drummer. The singer was and is now a natural mega-star, and rightly so. But the piano man. The piano nan had a sneeringly bad haircut then, and is probably dead now.

    T.... T....

Very odd post. The 'piano man' is Cliff Hall - and he is still very much alive. The drummer is Graham Jarvis and, sadly, he died about 35 years ago. They were both in Cliff's band for a long time and had the utmost respect for him.

Great footage I'd not seen before! Thanks from a Canadian!
