Richard, Cliff - Take Me High Lyrics
Once there was a way
Once there was a time
When evrything was in its place and simply fine.
When no one bothered counting all the tears one cried in vain
For in the morning
Take me high
Love
Take me high
Take me back to where I've been
Take me high
Love
Let me fly-y love
In the skyways I once knew
Take me back to the days
When I was truly never alone
Take me high
Love
Take me home.
Once there was a hill
Once there was a tree
Once there was a bird
Who spread its wings and flew
To places we imagine so much brighter than our own
Yet when the summer sun and returned our feathered friends came home.
Take me high
Love
...
Take me high
Love
...
Take me high
Love
Take me home
Take me high
Love
Take me home.

Richard, Cliff Take Me High Comments
Seems the record buying public didn't take this record very high because it only made number 27 in the charts surprisingly because I thought it was one of his best
I remember this one being on the radio when I was a lad and it's great to hear it again. I'm surprised it only got to no. 27. I was never really a Cliff fan but like this one a lot. I heard him live at the Albert Hall a few years ago with a few friends and it was a great evening out.
great movie and soundtrack
Cliff's legacy as a musicianal genius and a man of peace will live forever.

tropicwave1 Thanks for the lyrics!
From the teenage years
From the film of the same name
Sir Cliff at his very best!
This is one cliffs finest, underplayed, underrated , great b side too,
This song used to impossible to find on Youtube. Just like Peter Sarsted's "I am a Cathedral" (on last attempt) and now Taylor Swift's "Style". In the latter's case, I believe Taylor herself has had it withdrawn, so maybe Cliff did with this gem. Who knows why in all cases.
