Rhett, Thomas - All American Middle Class White Boy Lyrics

We wasn't rich but we wasn't poor
Lived on a cul-de-sac 'til my parents divorced
I drove a hand-me-down Ford pickup truck
We had to drive ten miles just to sink it in the mud

Come on, come on,
Come on, come On

I went to private school for a couple of years
And I loved Jesus but I still drank beer
I played high school football but I didn't start
Coach said I was slow but I hit real hard

Hey, hey what can I say
I grew up in the heartland USA
I sing it loud and proud and I make a lotta noise
I'm an all-American middle class white boy
Hey, hey

Lived in the sticks 'til I moved to the city
But the stars ain't as bright and the girls ain't as pretty
I still say yes sir, ma'am and y'all
So don't you be hatin' on the way I talk Hoss

Hey, hey what can I say
I grew up in the heartland USA
I sing it loud and proud and I make a lotta noise
I'm an all-American middle class white boy
Hey, hey

I like what I like, I am who I am
And even when they lose, I'm still a Bulldog fan
I rocked DMX when I was I kid
And now I sing country music like my daddy did

Hey, hey what can I say
I grew up in the heartland USA
I sing it loud and proud and I make a lotta noise
I'm an all-American

Hey, hey what can I say
I grew up in the heartland USA
I sing it loud and proud and I make a lotta noise
I'm an all-American middle class white boy
Hey
Middle class white boy
Hey

Coach said I was slow but I hit real hard, I was told that 2weeks ago😂

  3. J.... K....

He went from a country boy at 20. To singing hip hop at fifty. He is 49 doesn’t look it at all. Like all his stuff but prefer country.

    J.... K....

Was wrong he is only thirty. His dad is fifty. He just looks like he gets younger

  4. C.... F....

    His best song.. easy..

  5. G.... H....

    Love this one too. 😍

  6. C.... D....

i can hate this so song so bad cause there is so much wrong with it
if you listen to nothing adds up

  7. B.... W....

wow ... after your daddy I'd thought you would stay country. what a sellout . now it's skinny jeans and pop music. you ain no cowboy.

  8. A.... B....

    this song describes my life.

  9. H.... R....

    Nice song just like me

  10. B.... L....

Had to drive 10 miles just to sink it in tbe mud.....funny as shit but true

  11. K.... C....

Before he had like changed his style totally

  12. R.... D....

Before he sold out to corrupt Nashville, you notice only a few country singers are still true EX: Luke Combs, Brad Paisley and Toby Keith. Like only luke is played since he has such high ratings. But Like his song Outlaw isnt played since it messes with nashville and Toby keith is never played on the radio since he hurts little snowflakes feelings. Well Boo Hoo!! don't mess with Country and Rock N Roll Music.

  13. j.... c....

did you do research on me or somethin

  14. C.... D....

    What's private school

  15. B.... 3....

    This is exactly me

  16. R.... D....

  17. J.... J....

Probably my favorite Thomas Rhett song! - AJ

  18. b.... f....

What happened to country music ?

  19. 5.... s....

    HELL YA

  20. M.... F....

Trump all the way! 2020 boys ;)

    M.... F....

    Let’s build that damn wall

    M.... F....

If a dem becomes president I’m leaving this country

  21. B.... L....

The rhythm sounds strikingly similar to Joe Diffie’s “Pickup Man”🤔

    B.... L....

    Alot of songs do

  22. K.... T....

This song screams white pride... BUT he's also the ONLY mainstream country singer I've heard of to adopt a black baby and even has another newer song about it 'Life Changes'. So I dunno, is he racist? 😂 I would've stopped listening to him a long time ago because of this song if not for his black baby adopt. I CAN'T STAND white pride and this 'I'm not racist but I'm proud to be white' statement. But it could also likely be partly satirical so I won't come to conclusions yet. I mean, for those defending white pride, why can't you just be proud to be yourself? Same reason there's no straight Pride Month or International Mens' Day... But that's just my opinion. I'm open to opposition, as long as it isn't racism/hate speech.

  23. T.... G....

Songs ok,I was actually a lower class white boy from the armpit of the county. Middle class back then was a dream, but I made it as a adult, with hard work ,blood sweat and tears.Any way also the flag is backwards, because in the english language we read left to right, therefor the blue field with stars should be on the right hand side, indicating we are pushing ahead. The way it is in picture is showing the flag in retreat.America doesn't retreat.

  24. D.... A....

never went to private school and never moved to the city

    D.... A....

I live in such a small town I have to travel 10 miles to go to school

  25. N.... K....

He left out the part where Thomas rhett's dad was worth 10 million dollars and was one of the biggest 90's country artist (Rhett Akins). Good song though

  26. W.... 4....

Nope, still does not make up for all the shitty ass pop music he makes. Really wish he would get off the country stations. Pop music would love him.

  27. A.... E....

this is the only good song he has ever sang how agrees

  28. N.... R....

This is meee!!! Stay american, stay southern!!!

  29. Y.... ....

i sw the title and said "HELL YEAH! THAT IS ME!"

    Y.... ....

Me too! Except the boy part lol

  30. y.... 3....

I like thomas rhetts music but this song isnt accurate at all, not only is his dad a pretty wealthy fella (Rhett Akins) , and the "hand me down ford" was at the time nearly a brand new truck....so he was driving around a truck which was only 1 or 2 years old and his dad has plenty of money....love the song its damn good just not exactly middle class if you ask me lol

    y.... 3....

I think you are taking it a bit too literally. He is singing this song to appeal and to give the audience something to relate to, plus it most likely describes a lot of people that like his music so it kinda makes the song about them, not him.

  31. N.... G....

This song explains my life perfectly but I never went to private school

    N.... G....

    So not perfectly then

  32. A.... C....

I thought everyone said "yes sir", "ma'am" and "y'all"

    A.... C....

some of the northerners think its rude if you say ma'am

    A.... C....

    Just in the south

  33. D.... R....

    Not that good

    D.... R....

    grow a pair loser.

  34. J.... L....

    That’s right baby! Trump 2020

  35. J.... T....

County ain’t county no more 😢

    J.... T....

+Jacob Thompson Country is still country, There's still a lot of good country music artists out there

    J.... T....

    Alan Jackson

    J.... T....

  41. T.... O....

This song describes me almost 100%
Except never went to a private school
I drive a hand-me-down, beat up 99 Dodge Ram 2500, Regular Cab, Steel Flat Bed
And I'm a Roll Tide Fan

    T.... O....

Lol but who popped off first? You stupid fuck. haha. You're 2 fuckin pounds and talk like you still get breastfed.

    T.... O....

cool ass name on here!! roll tide!!

    T.... O....

The confederate flag in this instance it doesn’t mean the Union vs. the Confederacy, in this meaning it is primarily representing Southern pride, and just being from the South that’s what it means. He is a proud American that flys the confederate flag in meaning southern pride, that is all it means.

    T.... O....

    Roll tide roll!

  42. T.... P....

this will be me when im a adult

    T.... P....

Aren't u a girl XD well u could change the Lyrics to all American white girl

    T.... P....

Most of this song is about childhood...

  43. B.... C....

This song should be way more popular! 👍

  44. T.... E....

anyone notice the problem with the American flag?

    T.... E....

Troy Ellis it is not backwards at all

    T.... E....

there is supposed to be 13 stripes

    T.... E....

+Curious George I think there is 13 stripes you just can't see them all

    T.... E....

It's missing some stars too it is just not all the way down

    T.... E....

Troy Ellis it’s touching the ground

  45. j.... a....

  52. D.... K....

    D.... K....

@Danielle Kim It's about being a normal person.

    D.... K....

Yes, yes it is. but that's life, no one is really remarkable just human.

    D.... K....

Danielle Kim this song describes everybody but u

    D.... K....

Yeah, I guess lol... That’s the point, he’s portraying himself as a stereotypical American White boy.
