Restless Heart - Wheels Lyrics
[Verse 1]
Some people are born to live alone
And go about life that way,
Their home is a long stretch
Of blacktop and everyday,
They like movin' and stayin on the run
And tryin' to make the world stand still
White lines and city limit signs
And life is like an automobile's
Rollin' down the highway what a fine time
That's the only way to feel
[Chorus]
Wheels,
Stay under me,
Wheels,
Stay under me,
Stay under me
[Verse 2]
It's a freedom that we all wanna know
It's an obsession to some
To keep the world in your rearview mirror
While you try to run down the sun
It's the knowin' when you
Get to where you're goin'
You're never there against your will
White lines and city limit signs
And life is like an automobile
Rollin' down the highway what a fine time
That's the only way to feel
[Chorus]
Wheels
Stay under me,
Stay under me
Wheels
Stay under me,
Stay under me
Wheels
I love to feel you turn
I love to feel you under me,
[Break]
Wheels turn around
Round round like geronomo
[Bridge]
It's a code for livin on the road
Try to make the world stand still
Rollin' down the highway
Rollin' down the highway
Ooohhh
[Chorus]
Wheels
Stay under me,
Stay under me
Wheels
Stay under me,
Stay under me
Wheels
I love to feel you turn
I love to feel you under me
Wheels
Stay under me,
Stay under me

Great Dave Loggins song
Amazing song , lovely vouices.
I hate this so- called country music today. It ain’t country at all . This is country music in my opinion.
Love this band always have
In '86 I got hurt on construction job. Got my CDLs in Jan of '87 n this song help open up the road for me. I will always cherish that time in my life. Truckin (back then] was just as this song described! !
everytime i listen to this song it reminds me of my gramps miss u so much man RIP grandpa
Great work Dave Loggins!!!http://www.ToddBarrowMusic.com
Do not stop someone's s fame.
I drive school bus every day and still can't get enough of driving
Going to see them Aug 4th 2018
I miss there music I wish they were still recording songs..
Awesome band, song, and era really. If you never drove a truck with good tunes like this you really don't know what freedom from the grind really means. Makes working 8 to 5 feel like prison cept they let you go home at night.
I know this feeling
This song gets me juiced up!!! Especially the chrous ..
Still sounding great. Saw them Saturday night. Thank you, Restless Heart! Love you.
was definitely good music to be raised on the some of best in my opinion.
Saw them tonight, Farmington, New Mexico. As tight as ever. Amazing group. Jennings is one of my favorite pickers of all time.
I like a good road trip
Im looking for this Album. Very hard to find. Any suggestions?? None on E Bay or Amazon.
one hellav band!! can't wait to see them in August
I remember hearing this when I was like 3ish. I didn't understand it at the time obviously but I used to get the chorus stuck in my head periodically. I think it may even be one of my first memories
This is what I listen to on a week long hall .It never gets old.
As a former OTR trucker, I have to say this song pretty much describes how a trucker feels. It's in your blood. It never goes away, even years after you get off the road, you still get that urge to just drive.
North Western Ontario Canada to Quebec every week..retired ..This is what got me through the long days and nights.
I'm not a truck driver but yesterday this song was on as I was passing 4 semis on the interstates and it made me think of how they were probably feeling.
Robert May current truck driver and I’m only truly happy when I have 18 wheels under me. Chasing down the sun!
Can’t see myself doing anything else, this isn’t a job, it’s a lifestyle and it’s either in you or it’s not.
I've heard this way too much from my friends that drive. Once it's there, there ain't no getting it out
Also like us traveling bums
Great song. Childhood memories.
Reminds me so much of the song "Running out of reasons to run" by Rick Trevino!!!
use to. hear this and trk across this country in 80s
Modern at the time, yet undoubtedly country. A wonderful band. True to their roots and didn't sell out like the modern generation of "pop country" stars that will record anything for money.
A great band with some of the best harmony in the same league as the Eagles, Poco and Little River Band. Today's so called country match can't even match to the talent of this band and they were awesome live.
I saw them several years ago in San Antonio. They sounded just like the record
There are no bands like this in country music. Country and RnR are a joke today. I saw these guys last night all in their late 50's and 60's and they still sound as good as they did in the eighties.
Back when I actually listened to Nashville. Before Puke Bryan oooh I mean Luke.
check out luke in concert. you'll be blown away. plays tupac, ac/dc and others. knocks it out of the park
Haha...seriously though, this was a great era for country music! Great melodies, arrangements and vocal harmonies! So good! I really miss this sound.
What the heck
Gosh, this takes me back... I cannot believe I have forgotten about them. I feel like a sad sad country music fan right now. lol
Being a professional drummer over my years, John Dittrich's metronone drumming and awesome vocals kept me alive in my own skills and performance. I will always value You and the Restless Heart Band.. and many memories into the the next decade
He still can sing well for his age.
awesome!
Only 38th place? This should have gone higher than that.
Agreed--AMazing band!!
One of the best bands EVER!
ACC's #38 song of the '88 survey year. RH hit #1 in Billboard, 2-6-88. God bless you, Queenigma, for postin' it. Thanx! Have a blessed weekend!
