Restless Heart - That Rock Won't Roll Lyrics
Every little move she makes,
Is gonna catch somebody's eye.
You ought to see all the double-takes,
When she goes walkin' by.
But she's so distant.
Everybody says that rock won't roll.
They say the girl's got a heart of stone.
That rock won't roll,
Oh, but she's too pretty to be alone.
I've got all this love inside me,
And I've just got to see,
If that rock won't roll.
I'll give her everything I've got,
I'll keep tryin' and I won't stop,
Until the love in her eyes shines through.
When I show her,
This heart of gold.
Then we'll see if that rock won't roll,
They say the girl's got a heart of stone.
That rock won't roll,
Oh, but she's too pretty to be alone.
I've got all this love inside me,
And I've just got to see,
If that rock won't roll.
[Instrumental Break]
I've got all this love inside me,
And I've just got to see,
If that rock won't roll.
Oh, she's so pretty,
But that rock won't roll.
Oooh, and I've just got to see,
[To Fade]
If that rock won't roll.
That rock won't roll.
I just can't believe that rock won't roll.

What a terrible day this is. Our nation has elected a man I truly loathe& I know just how out of step I am with this nation. I need some good 'ol 80's coutry to help soothe the heartbreak. ------------Wolfsky9, 70 y/o & a Liberal Democrat to the end !!
Why is it I get so nostalgic for the 80's every time I hear this ??? ----------Wolfsky9, 70 y/o
I STILL LOVE THIS SONG !! -------Wolfsky9, 70 y/o

Hi! That*s pefect
three songs no one could possibly hate: orleans still the one, righteous brothers unchained melody, restless heart that rock won't roll. The dislikers are inferior beings. end of story.
Joe Permenter 👏👏👏👏👏👏
lol..I wouldn't go that far..
had to go there though. The state of today's music is appalling by comparison
This was my favorite song when I met my wife. Girl friend then . I told myself this everyday, And Guess what that Rock does Roll cause she's my wife ,with 2 boys and a Girl that are grown now with 6 grandkids and 1 in the oven. So yes that Rock will roll ,so don't hold back or be scared,GO FOR IT. And a wonderful song. Perfect.
love this song one of my favorites
i love this song....
Lucked into seeing these guys at the Tri-state Fair here in Amarillo a few years ago and they sounded so good. I think they were the last band the crappy fair brought in to perform that I actually wanted to see. This song and "Let the Heartache Ride" will always be in my Mp3 player, along with Van Halen, AC/DC, Kool & the Gang, Anita Baker and my new fan crush, Britt Nicole.
i love it
56 people rock wont roll !! what a great band, awesome lyrics !!!!
I Love this song ! You will never hear such good country music again like this !
who would not like restless heart? these guys are the most awesome
+Della Sizemore they do not know real country music
My song
"Oh, but she's too pretty to be alone," the boys sing so desperately, wanting her so desperately.
Restless Heart
@Amanda Chambers, it's restless for love, too.
.love there songs!!never gets old.
+Susan Johnston Right you are. Great band.

#1 billboard country
great song
was fortunate enough to see them in concert at the Jefferson County Fair a few years back, all original members, it was awesome.
@Tim Janssen I saw them at the state fair in California so good
country pop combination for the magic time of the 80s! perfect song!
They are the Eagles of the 90's. Great band
Great comparison.
Although I agree they sound very similar, Eagles were alive and well for the second half of the 90s. (94-)
Never gets old. Literally. I can listen to this five times a day at least
+RobRobertTheMovieGuy, yes, it is that type of song.
I might be delirious, but I think the lead singer sounds a bit like Don Henley
I agree
OMG, I love this song, & never tire of hearing it! Wolfsky9
Saw them live earlier this year. They were great!
@Patricia Paul, the fellows must have been in top form.
that rock didnt roll. footnote : did i mension how much i live rocks...literly
A timeless tale. Oh, `tis true. `Tis true. If the girl is stunningly beautiful, then it is no surprise if she has a heart of stone. Let us see... Wavy blond hair, sparkling blue eyes, a pearly-white smile, a fair and rosy complexion, and certainly a gorgeous body would be enough to make any man feel that he is instantly smitten. He must begin by saying, "Hello." A chance for a conversation would need to follow. At some point, of course, he'd want a date. Well, it often never gets that far. She would be too icy to care... The Restless Heart fellows truly capture the sentiment of hopelessness with this wonderful ballad.
ACC's #26 song of the '86 survey year. RH hit #1 in Billboard, 11-05-86. God bless you, friend, for postin' it. Thanx! Have a blessed rest of the week!
great entertainers
IT seems like 18 now but my thumb is up.
Restless Heart. They will be one of my all time groups ever. To rank along with the group Eagles as far as talent, song writing, harmonies. The whole package!
Yeah I saw someone say that Restless Heart is definitely the Eagles of the 90s. It's a great comparison and definitely the only thing that's close to country that I'll listen to.
I freakig love this song, this sounds kind of 90s though.
That's because it is.
It isn't 90's at all. This song came out in 1986, and sounds like most country songs of that era.
This song is one of the best "country" songs ever made.
80s and early to mid 99s country was the best was born in 81 so early 90s to mid 90s bring me back to my youth ending of grade school into middle school garth brooks mcbride and the ride pam tilis Reba
Hard to believe there's 14 retards on the planet that gave this song a thumbs down!!!!
i know... now 21 retards......
Great song. Reminds me of
when country songs had a message.
Denise Thorbjornsen, where in the bible does God say that?
wow the days when love music was about love. i dont think theres many songs about love anymore especially with pop culture destroying the music industry
God said,"I have made all things for my pleasure."
What a Great Song! I never got tired of listening to it and I've listened a LOT!!
i wish they would tour agin i would spend the $ to see them
great song this guys were great when saw them in Edmonton

Best song of RH!
Good for you!
Good idea.
I agree , im not a huge country music fan , that said i do like some ,like George Straight Alan Jackson and above them HANDS DOWN these guys of this Great band Restless Heart, There ballets are of smooth cross over country rock that has and will stand forever, I hope to see these guys myself some time soon, I think they would a great combo concert with 38 Special. Thanx for the great post.
Restless Heart is like a fine wine, Keeps getting better with age!!!!
A great sounding song for one of country premiere bands from the 80's and 90's. Restless Heart.
Greatest of the greatest it don't get any better than these dudes.
seen them at Tioga Downs in Nichols NY. <3 it. im 22 i grew up on them as a kid 2.enjoy ya time they did a good show
Going to see them and the KC Symphony on May the 11th. Them+Symphony=Unbelievable. I'm only 23 Years old, but my dad and I used to listen to them when it was only us two in the nineties. He'd turn the speakers up all the way and we'd dance forever on the back deck.I'm going to see this with my new fiancee. To good times and old times.
who DOESNT burn CD copies?
saw them live in Amarillo, TX back in 1986. Was surprised they played such a small venue.
Great song from a great group! Love the 80's Country Music!
Amen ... i agree with you on this one...i was 18 in 1986!
This brings back memories and even tears to my eyes. I guess thinking about how simple things were then and how people got along better. Today our country is divided more than ever and people are full of hate. I was 19 when this song came out and wish I could go back for just 15 minutes to 1986.
I play the heck out of these guys...Though I confess in burning copies so to protect the originals ;)
What a great band. I have some albums and I keep them as if they were gold !!
That's why I pay the $8 a month to get SIRIUS in my car and I just listen to the 80's and 90's country channel. SO worth it.
Absolutely true. When the corporations that own record labels also spend millions of dollars in radio advertising, radio has to do as they say.
This is probably the most melodic country song of the 80's
its the truth .radio stations are forced to p;ay the new miley cyrus or whatever neew song is out over and over which is really annoying .look up the word payola i should be able to describe the meaning better but it was a law or something made to protect disc jockies and radio stations from these kind of things .but the pressure of the all mighty dollar seems to always prevail.peace
ACC's #26 song of '86. God bless ya for postin' it. Thanx! Have a blessed week!
my parents had the best of restless heart tape yes tape
my played the heck out of thing loved then & thanks to YouTube love it now
@12342321 he was never in the band. Although he did write several songs for them. Van was later in the country band Blackhawk before succuming to cancer in 2001.
Truly one of the great superbands in Country music!
when was van stephenson in this band ?
@Countrygurl894 Many of the artists from the 80s and 90s that made good music are still around making music. What happened is that radio executives make all the decisions as to what will get played on radio and it's either conform or get out. Bands like Little Texas, Blackhawk, Diamond Rio, and Restless Heart are still around and still tour and still make good music but radio keeps them off the air.
@FREEBIRD6111 You're right. Most is just rehashed crap. The girls have to look like centerfolds (I like that part) and the guys have to be hunks. The music is secondary...If the artist doesn't look good in a video they never make it...
Great vocals, talent and great song selection. I wonder what Larry Stewart and the rest of the band have been up to lately.
I'm surprised that this song wasn't a huge crossover success. Sounds like something the Eagles would make.
country music was alive and kicking during this time .. i'm sorry to say i think country music is dead today!
Why did they not have a video for this song?
Miss you Nora Price: Me Ned (JR.) always loved you...your my babe.
@shmunter2 because none of today's artists cares about what they sound like, but how much money they can make off an album. I miss music like this
Great band and I just saw them last Tuesday at the Grand Ole Opry. The guitar solo made me cringe a little. I looked at my buddy and we both said "Ripoff!" I'm a huge Journey fan so it was hard to miss! But still, I like this band.
I first heard these guys play live in Binghamton, NY when they opened for Alabama's "The Touch" concert. Must have been around 1986 or 87. Both bands were awesome. Went out the very next day and bought their cassett "Wheels." I liked almost every song on it.
@wuffleballer23, This is a great song, and does it remind you of some people you know?
GREAT SONG, it reminds me of some girls i know
great song it reminds me of some people i know
Take me back to 1986....
RH hit #1 in Billboard, 11-15-86. God bless!
I Love This Restless Heart 1986 Hit, "That Rock Won't Roll," Which Became The #1 Country Hit In America.
@Bansheeeyes78 your welcome. I love RH I wanna see them in concert so bad,,,
@Bansheeeyes78 Yes, Cheers!!!
Excellent music!
Awesome song!!!
I am so glad someone put this song back on You Tube. It is my favorite by this band.
