R.E.M. - Disappear Lyrics
I dragged my feet across a seat
Jumped out the passenger side
The only thing worth looking for
Is what you find inside
Lost invisible here.
Tel Aviv and Agadir
Tone deaf for almost
Before I learned to see
The vanishing point appeared.
I looked for you everywhere
I looked for you everywhere.
There is a calm I haven't come to yet
I spent half my life figuring what comes next
I telescoped in I finally win
I finally win the prize
That now eyes see comets perfect timing squeeze
Head first fighting everything
The crushing force of memory
Erasing all I've been
The vanishing point appeared.
I looked for you everywhere.
I looked for you everywhere.
Tell me why you're here.
I came to disappear.
Look at this face
Can you believe it?
Am I living in the beautiful vacuum?
Because I can't see it
The vanishing point appears.
I looked for you everywhere.
I looked for you everywhere.
Tell me why you're here.
I came to disappear.
Tell me why you're here.
I came to disappear.
I came to disappear.

????? Michael Stipe * Thom Yorke...no_body does it better,✌
My favorite REM song.
Amore x sempre
increíble y genial
vi amerò x sempre
One of the best songs ever written and sung.
Some trivia... Thom Yorke from Radiohead was going through a period of extreme depression during the late 90's, and Michael Stipe was one of his best friends. To overcome the severe stage fright he had developed, Stipe recommended him to tell himself: "I'm not here, this isn't happening". This motto eventually became the chorus of Radiohead's "How To Disappear Completely", from Kid A (2000). And said song supposedly inspired Stipe to write "Disappear" as a sort of response. Considering that this was released in 2001, I think it's pretty plausible.
Stipe laughs thinking about his anxiety while working on “Disappear” from R.E.M.’s 2001 album Reveal.
“I wrote it, I loved it, I put it down, we were mixing and one night later I was like, ‘Holy fucking shit. I’ve written a Radiohead song.’ So I reached out to Thom and he didn’t get back to me and I was like, ‘Uh oh, this is bad.’ So I called him and I was like, ‘I’ve written a song that was already kind of done and I think I stole it from you—‘How to Disappear Completely.’ He started laughing. ‘Michael that song is from a conversation we had and it was advice that you gave me. I think we’re even.’ Plagiarizing myself through Thom Yorke.”
-from The Daily Beast - Michael Stipe Opens Up About R.E.M. and President Trump: ‘It’s a Very F*cked Up Time to Be’
I saw Radiohead open for REM. Before they gave up the stage, Thom sang "No-body does it better".
That's complete Bullshit!!!!! Not true!!!!!!!!!! its about Love... finding love in uncommon places.
Thing is, they had a thing with songs in the time signature of 6/8. This here sounds a lot like 'daysleeper, which sonded like 'new test leper', which sounded like 'strange currencies' which sounded like 'half a world away' , which sounded like 'Swan Swan'.
I'm not sure it's a bad thing, but it's definitely a 'thing'.
Lol. Don't forget "Try Not to Breathe" from automatic for the people--in fact, a near twin in rhythm and sound.
yeah, mine too
my favorite song too
