Relient K - Failure To Excommunicate Lyrics
It's the principle
it's the issue that your principal would dismiss you.
Because you don't fit into that all-American Box.
That coffin created for creative thought.
It's disgusting his priorities
His gavel's gone down before he looked in your
heart. He finished this race(ism) before he reached the start.
Jesus loved the outcasts.
He loves the ones the world just loves to hate.
And as long as there's a heaven, there'll be a failure to excommunicate.
The world just keeps you at an arm's length.
Every week you work up the strength to fight the flames that are hurled.
Let your faith shine right through.
You know it's the world
versus Jesus and you. It's disgusting, their priorities.
authority.
Their gavel's gone down before they looked in your heart.
They finished this race(ism).

Relient K Failure To Excommunicate Comments
How'd they write about Trump 15 years before he was even elected?
This song absolutely fitting for today's world as we know it🙏😔
buena música y grupo amen
I heard them say at my church years and year this song is about the churches that kick people out and tell people they can never come back. Catholics Mormons Muslims and others can excommunicate
Point is they have no biblical authority to remove anyone God has chosen and sanctified.
Lot of good discussion from both sides. But ask any Christian and they will give you a circular answer about pre destination. An all knowing God that allows for free will but already knows everything anyways is a distorted version of free will. Undeniable
+1wrongstu1 Not exactly. Picture it like this: You offer your younger sibling their least favorite vegetable or their favorite candy. You know what they will choose, even before you offer it; but you still let them choose of their own volition. Obviously that is a really weak analogy, but the base point that I personally apply is that God knows what you will choose, but he still allows you the free will to make that choice yourself. It isn't as if your just 'fated' to do one thing or another, you really do have a choice.
I know that this song is not about being Republican (though I'm a conservative but am willing to agree to disagree with other people). This song is about as Christians we won't have the popular opinion. We won't make the choices the world make. Heck sometimes we won't make the choices that even some Christians won't like (being friends with gay people helping someone recover from abortion loving on people who make poor decisions). "Jesus loves the outcasts. He loves the ones the world just loves to hate. As long as there's a heaven they'll be a failure to excommunicate". Jesus hung out with those who were the last the lost and the least (a reference to the birds and the beesides). Jesus didn't come for the people who had it together. We don't have it all together due to sin. But the thing about Jesus is that He died and suffered the eternal consequence so that we won't have to through Jesus. A lot of people think that God wants nothing to do with sinners. If that were the case than there would be no Jesus. Jesus bridged the gap between us and God. Yes we have a courrupt society. But as Christians are time on Earth is temporary. We should be lights of this world. We should raise God up and give people God's love not through condemnation. But by showing people what Jesus did in our lives. Not by telling others they don't have it together. Because we're all guilty of the same things.
Bernard Powell I couldn't agree more.
I concur with your opinion. We are supposed to show God's love to others.
Scroll down to comments, see people miss the point of the song. "Stand up against gay marriage!" No. Stand up against people like SWBattlefrontGuru using Christianity as an excuse for hatred. "Jesus loved the outcasts/He loves the ones the world just loves to hate/And as long as there's a heaven/There'll be a failure to excommunicate."
Jay Logan gays don't go to heaven
Neither do people who judge others Matthew 7:1-51. “Do not judge, or you too will be judged.2.For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.3. “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?4.
How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye?5.You
hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will
see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.
I'm not judging you but I will say the problem with us Christians today and for the past several thousand years is that we judge and that we forgotten that we were to show the love of God. We are not the ones who judge That's Our Gods job.
It's important not to take scripture out of context. This scripture is actually a command, not just a statement of passiveness in the sight of sin. John 7:24 commands us to judge righteously. So, we are allowed to judge but only under the pretense that it's righteous judgement. After all, in Acts the disciples are shown to judge also, actions in the early Church that they deemed unacceptable.
The clown troll post but I'll bite. "Gays" do go to heaven, if they are saved. If they are saved then they already know what God tells us. I sin all the time and I'm so glad I have a God of second chances.
Jay Logan I agree with most of what you said but not agreeing with gay marriage isn't hate. Neither are disagreements
how did a Relient K video merit neo-con discussion?
Relient K are probably libertarians or liberals. They don't care about your guns or your small government. They make pop music for pop people.
@Hal Emmerich You know, your comment is just an assumption, right? Have you ever met any of these band members personally to make that judgement?
I don't want to believe in a God who creates humans to give them free will and just punish them for using it by not believing in a God. Thats just plain tyranny and I don't believe that God who symbolises love and peace to be a tyran just to judge and play with life. I don't have a religion but I do have my own theories which all can be wrong and I don't mind that. I believe I'm a good person and I love all religion who advocates caring for others. But I don't believe that wrongdoings will be punished and goodness will be praised.. Thats just lazy! If you want to live in a better and fair world we have to make it together and not just sit on our butts and pray for a God to clean up OUR mess!
Believe what you want.. Sin separates us from God, and the Bible says that everyone was born in sin, If God wasn't merciful, why would he send his only son to die for YOU and ME.... So like i said, believe what you want but in the end of it all, you're gonna stand by what you believed in when you stand before a perfect God and he's gonna ask you, "What did YOU do with my gift to you?"
nobody can make you but don't antagonize the people who do want to believe
you obviously are blind the the truth my friend. and are pretty clueless about God
Kenrick Halff and you came here why?
Why do you assume you even have remotely the same intelligence as a god would? im not saying god is real or anything but if there was a god you would be foolish to think you could ever understand what they are thinking, what they believe right and wrong is, and how they act. The christians believe that God gives us free will and when we ate the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil we gained the ability to decide whats right and wrong for ourselves rather than based on what God thinks. So christians go by what God says and for the rest of us we go by our own right and wrong.
Jesus forewarned us that the life of a Christian is not meant to be luxurious and easy. Especially in these last days. He said we would be hated, persecuted, mistreated, and even killed for his namesake. But endure it because your reward is not earthly. He said to bless those that persecute you. Love them.
Legitimate point, if a bit uninformed. Culturally, we've got so we stopped caring what goes in our bodies and minds. There's this attitude that "if it's out there, it's alright." On the store shelves, in the media... there's so much that messes us up out there... and we've stopped caring, for the most part.
"Humans started cancer and aids and all that."
What?
I LOVE ME SOME JESUS MUSIC :D
Christians with a creed shove their beliefs in others faces and tell people they are going to hell. Christians with I think a confession of faith it is called follow Jesus and their beliefs and moral teachings but do not argue with people of another religion. You are right. It is wrong and that's one reason there are atheists because that's all they see. They can't see past the faults.
I know what you mean. My girl-friend and probably future wife is catholic and I'm not any form of what you would call a Christian. Most would call me atheist or say that I need to be "saved." A religion using fear (The great pit of fire) to keep people in line, and that has a creed is just not something I support. I am Unitarian Universalist with roots in Humanism and Mahayana Buddhism.
Yea too bad he's dead. At least his acts went down in historic records. The only place he exists.
Jesus is Alive!! And closer to you than you could ever imagine. Call on him!! Call out his name! Seek him out for yourself!
I love Jesus for his moral teachings. Jesus left his mark on earth by standing out from the crowd.
My issue isn't with Jesus. He was, by all accounts, a really cool guy. The deific figure credited to be his father, on the other hand, does little but invite my ire.
The strangest thing? My best friend's a devout Catholic and we don't give an honest damn about each other's religion.
if you don't love jesus...then you can't understand the words properly...you can't understand the vastness and perfectness of his love.
@broinchrist1 Jesus loves everyone.
Even those who curse him and use his name in vain.
Now, from a human standpoint, THAT is amazing.
Never heard this version. Cool.
this is the original....
jesus loved outcasts that is amazing 2 think about
Jesus DID love the outcast, he's always loved the ones the world just love to hate....VERY TRUE LOVE THIS SONG SO MUCH THANK YOU FOR POSTING!!
weird, in a way the melody is kinof depressing... = \
@SWBattlefrontGuru That's awesome, I can't wait XD
@Crazedgnome2 Some atheists do shove thier beliefs down others throats. My brother constantly harrasses our mother calling her "stupid" and "brain-washed." He's constantly putting up pictures and things mocking and insulting Christ just to hurt and offend her. He claims he's "Seen the light." He even tore apart and burnt one of our bibles. On the contrary, I have a wonderful friend who is agnostic who is completely accepting of people with different beliefs than his own.
I love part 2. For anyone who did not know, "Failure To Excommunicate" (from the album The Anatomy of the Tongue in Cheek) is followed by "Life After Death and Taxes (Failure II)" (from the album Mmhmm). Relient K is amazing. Thank you, SWBattlefrontGuru. =)
matt wears that shirt a lot ..... ?
@SWBattlefrontGuru aye... Say you've been given the right by God himself. :P Cause that's where true authority comes from :)
Amazing song
@SWBattlefrontGuru I have to say your comment about gay people is not very Christian at all. Christian people don't discriminate ANYONE, no matter what their sexual preference. It is a very un-Christian thing to do. And to say that they should move to another country is the kind of intolerance that makes people hate our country. "Jesus loved the outcast, he just loves the ones the world just loves to hate." Gay people are outcasts of our society right now, so Jesus loves them too.
leipe shit ouws
LOVE THIs SONG!!!!! IT fit how the world is today and its been out for a while
@agoo7581 and your probably one of those people that reject and prejudge people like me.
the message of this song is so good
This is different from the album version. Most notably the louder guitar at 1:19 Also, the strings at the end start later. Where did this version come from?
this song is amazing
Well, you're opinion is wrong. How is it safe to be cursed at by Atheists and not being able to "enjoy" the "fun" that non-believers have?
On that note. It's not fair for the uploader to comment stuff about this on his video. Let's enjoy the music. :P
I would say otherwise there are some Atheists who can be pretty forward with what they "don't" believe in and do the shoving.
There's just a bigger christian base of people so it seems more people shove the Christianity into peoples throats as you say? IMO We're all human, you'll always meet the typical person no matter what religion/non-religion you follow trying to shove what they believe to be true in your face.
my favorite rk song, cause i am an outcast in society
its because we care about others. we try to save others
yeah right all athiests do and you know it
Hahaha. I'm christian, but one thing I like about Atheists is they dont go around shoving their beliefs down peoples throats.
i love how good relient k's songs make you feel! :)
haha sounds like R2D2 to me
I'm not positive what you meant by sweeping, but i think i have an idea. obviously i'm not a very hardcore bassist.
whats that sound at the very end of the song? it sounds like a rubber ducky...
just try to sweep it. im pretty sure its in drop d and you play along the a string so you'll have no problem...
This is the album i will never forget.
any tips on how to play the bass part? finger walking seems pretty hard for this, or maybe i'm just really bad. should i use a pick?
Who's the lead Singer in this track? Dave
ummmm ya this whole CD is great!! old relient k is so much better!
wow , i cant believe ive never heard this song before.. its one of Relient K's best and thats saying something.
great song. period.
great meaning.
