Oh man. There is so little guitar on this album that they've had to add another lead instrument in almost all the songs like a piano. I think there is too much modulation in the guitar. I miss frusciantes driving chord progressions

Never liked RHCP (though I do rate Frusciante (he's a big Vini Reilly fan after all) and I'm only listening to this because I saw a photo of this record's cover, which looks beautiful, but this is great and I might have to buy it. Shame about Kleidis' typically naff vocals though.

People may complain how repetitive this song is, but I honestly dig this song.
It has a great, groovy bassline along with Chad's fitting drums; Josh's reverberating guitar coats the groove with a sweet atmosphere.
And hey, it's fun to jam along with this track with our own instruments!
I play guitar & this is one of the best jams to play along with online :)

Nearly every song is repetitive. That's kinda the structure of most songs, unless it's a drone song or something really unconventional.

If you think that a group that takes the time to put lyrics and music together for 31 + more songs that will never be heard by us only to use 14 of them on an album, or to put out a 30-whatever song double-LP (that still *somehow* has b-sides) for the price of other people's 10-song albums, or who still manages to pour their own life and love and loss into just about every one of them...if you somehow think they're "about the money," then I'm sorry you never met real goddamn musicians in your life, friend. :)

Doesn't change the fact that John fit better with the Chilis, better than any other guitarist they've had.

Absolutely, I don't think anyone contests it. John was and is a musical genius, perhaps one of the greatest to ever live, but I can't think of any more worthy "successor" to the post than one of John's closest friends and collaborators.

Hey John's chemistry with the band wasn't at it's fullest until blood sugar!  Let's face it, mother's milk wasn't that great.  I think that their next record could potentially be really great.  And if John rejoins I see no reason for josh to leave to be honest. I think that they both have different playing styles but they both never try to do too much and you could even say they both have a "less is more attitude" in their guitar playing.  I think they might both fit in perfectly

I loved Mothers Milk. It depends on taste I guess ;)

It’ll never happen. Hate to say it but it won’t. Frusciante wants to pursue his solo career and (as evident with his departure in the 90s) he doesn’t like being in too big of a band and Red Hot Chili Peppers are obviously a really big band. That’s why I think his latest departure is a permanent one

I have to agree Josh is a great guitarist but defiantly not John F.

I don't think he will ever be like John F.
they both have totally different playing styles.
Sure he can play his songs vary well
But when it comes to song writing I don't think hes ever going to be able to mimic that sound.
And hes not trying to witch is great
and is why I like him and I think hes a great replacement.
But
The chili peppers really need to go back to playing more funk in there next Album.
.....It makes me wonder how Josh would pull that off...

Thats literally what I'm hoping happens a Frusciante transition from Mother's Milk to Blood Sugar. If that happens Ill be extremely pleased. In some ways it is a mirror to John's time in the band early on.
