He is talking about people telling him he needs to just quit dreaming...Stay on the farm & plow and go milk that cow boy & calling him "boy"-talking down to him...You plow and milk cows on a farm. They are not telling him to "milk a cowboy." If you can't differentiate that then you are not hearing the song.

What I don't get is why this song hasn't made it yet. I assume it must be the cocky line at the end about the Rolex on his wrist- country music fans just don't relate to that. The line would have been better if it was something like, " Yeah I'm a Plow Boy, and a country singin' man, and now days I got fans." Otherwise the guitar, vocals, and chorus are flawless.
