Rancid - Start Now Lyrics

Another lesson has been learned,
In this days' modern times,
Strangers in the mist appear,
Now there's war, all the time,
Systematically go and destroy,
Commit another atrocity,
Aggressors are in their places,
Man-made catastrophe.

I'm not looking for a fight now,
And I don't care who's wrong or right now,
So release the dove into flight now,
So we can start right now,
We can start right now.

A small key's gonna open the door,
Across the border to a new land,
And in the new land a sand storm roars,
Under spell and the ghost of a man,
A pack of men, they're yours to stay,
Their prayers fall upon deaf ears,
Machiavelli owns a machine gun now,
And I see it in the mask and a puppeteer.

I'm not looking for a fight now,
And I don't care who's wrong or right now,
So release the dove into flight now,
So we can start right now,
We can start right now.

Humanity has no blame in this case, this big game of chess for us all,
Hostility explodes in the mess, now your arm got blood all over the world,
And clear day turns to dark, blindfolding prisoners of war,
And solidarity, on the razor's edge, boy, what? You're a big puncher now, right?
Yeah?.... Ha!.... Nah.... I don't fucking think so!
Ha ha ha!

I'm not looking for a fight now,
And I don't care who's wrong or right now,
So release the dove into flight now,
So we can start right now,
We can start right now.

I don't know what the hell is wrong with Tim Armstrong's voice. This is probably the most annoying example of it I've ever heard. I think he's even laughing at himself here at one point.

    A.... ....

    +AllHaiLKINGTIsHeRe3 But that doesn't mean he's bad.

    A.... ....

@Skeletor Marsh How do you know it's heroin? And I didn't say it means he's bad, unless it's really annoying like in this example. In general though I think his voice sounds kind of cool. Sometimes it's just annoying though as I said.

    A.... ....

Well, it's a well-known fact that Tim is(or was) on heroin for a long time and from what I've observed, being around drug addicts my whole life(including a large portion of my bloodline), that heroin and drugs of the like slur your speech and jack up your ability to articulate. I may be wrong and there may be another explanation, but this just seems the most logical.

    A.... ....

+1mackbrown Yep. Just like if you listen to NOFX enough you don`t notice Fat Mike`s shitty vocals ;-)

    A.... ....

Could you honestly listen to Rancid or anything Tim's ever been in if his voice wasn't like that?  It's unique and make him..... I fuckin love it

  56. d.... ....

man, rancid has been keeping it real for so fucking long; fact is when punk and pop punk were popular for a minute in the mid-late 90s bands like Rancid, Green Day and Offspring were all offered deals by corporate labels, but only Rancid stuck with their roots and the studio/owner who started them up. Even as there style progressed and changed the core of the music remained.....mad props to that

  57. L.... R....

    good shit
