I remember seeing this video, or a clip like it, at the time. Gary Brooker miming the solo on that little keyboard confused me because I wasn't sure whether the solo on the record was a real flute or a synthesizer. Turns out it was actually a flute played by a session musician.

This my favourite Procul Harum track. But, if you like this version, seek out the 'Sight & Sound In Concert' version - the organist does a fabulous funky break at the end, and Gary Brokker finishes the song with a touch of Tequila!

As a young boy I liked this song so much. I played it over and over again. It has a special unique vibe and still living it. It is a special peace of music and love it still. Maybe because it is not mainstream but so utterly cool 😎

Surely one of the best uses of a marimba in a pop/rock song. Then there was "Under My Thumb" by The Stones. Any others? (apart from more obscure songs by Tom Waits, etc).

Ask people how many hits by Procol Harum they can name, and they'll say Whiter Shade of Pale while a few will remember Homburg. Only diehard fans will get Conquistador and Pandora's Box
