Primus - Intruder Lyrics
I know something about opening windows and doors
I know how to move quietly to creep across creaky wooden floors
I know where to find precious things in all your cupboards and drawers
Slipping the clippers
Slipping the clippers through the telephone wires
Inspires me
I like to feel the suspense when I'm certain you know I am there
I like you lying awake, your baited breath charging the air
I like the touch and the smell of all the pretty dresses you wear
Intruders happy in the dark
Intruder come
Intruder come and leave his mark, leave his mark

Primus Intruder Comments
I Like...
This was posted on my 35th birthday. :)
I have loved this cover since I first heard it over 25 years ago. Primus really nailed all the covers on this EP. Also yes they suck.
I am here from Mindhunter and this song rocks!
Great to know I’m in good company that Primus really sucks!!
Am I the only one here from Mindhunter?
I knew the music, but I wanted to listen to it again
me as well. Thought the second half of the series drifted off a bit, but still enjoyable mate.
yes ... yes you are
Yup. I was a huge fan of the Peter Gabriel version many years ago...
Great great song by both artists.
Not a bad cover.
This whole album was is a good collection of songs that tell a good story.
Wow! Talk about crapping all over an awesome Peter Gabriel song!!
deja vu
i agree
tubular
WOW MAN THATS KREEEEEEEEEEEEEPY
Not my favorite Primus album but it deserves much more than the criticisms it usually gets.
The covers are excellent here, the atmosphere is quite dark.
I prefer this album to Frizzle Fry and to their two latest releases. Primus stopped being good after Antipop.
Whys everything gotta be a contest? Both versions are good, Primus would have never made this if they didn't hold the original in high regard.
Ummmmmmmmmm Is it okay too like this more the original
@Goji Boy No.
They played this live in michigan yesturday.. first time performed live since 92... best song of the night
Apperantly they played this a couple days ago in philidelphia! First time primus has played it since 1992! Although Frog Brigade played it a few times in concert but that hasnt been since 2004!
I remember when i first heard this in a car stereo in the back seat, hearing the drums, amazing song.
Primus sucks so bad on this one
Original blows this away... Primus seriously misses the point of the song
I think you missed the point of the song....
Primus Suck!! All Hail Primus!!
saying pimus version is better is like saying Forrest Gump is smarter them Tesla
GabrealCollins ask your parents or friends you wish you have about a thing called spell check
Forrest Gump is based loosely on Tesla 2
Tim Alexander though
I had a friend in high school that always called toms on a drum kit "Primus Drums".
The bass even better
Space Ghost yaaassssss
I have to change my underwear every time I hear his voice.
You win the internet
Meg Nite I just fell in love. Our kids will raise hell.
Say, baby, do you wanna lay down with me?
These songs aren't suited for normal girls just so you know
Man, Primus sucks. Love this song.
yeah, primus sux, heh heh heh. you ass wipe
Clearly not a Primus fan.
Bruh it's the bands Slogan!!!!
@Kristopher Green feel stupid yet?
Primus rocks...always have....always will. Its simple really
Brandon Munson Primus sucks!!!
Suck on this....
I fucking love the Peter Gabriel original... but Primus sucks.
Which is why I am here.
lol yes sir you are a true fan!!!!
Read up on what the phrase "Primus sucks" really means, my friend. ;)
I'm clearly tone deaf then.
Primus sucks!
Trolls gotta troll. It's amazing what they can do with only three instruments. Nothing beats the original, but this is an awesome cover.
Primus sucks!
les claypools vocals just don't fit this song, but the guitar is on point which makes this a nice cover
I must say, I love PG and especially this song. But this is a real great cover, done by master musicians. I appreciate the fact that Mr Claypool likes that song !!!
Primus Sucks!
You're not supposed to sound angry, you're supposed to sound collected and taunting when singing this.
there is no one way a song is supposed to be played, it would not be an interesting cover if it was the exact same as the original
@ramiritoredux I saw him on Buenos Aires last friday, blew my head-off with Intruder.... really rocks!!!
@bumpzilla The New Blood version live scared the shit out of me. He had home surveillance things playing on his backdrop. This is definitely better than the original PG version, but PG steals it back with New Blood version.
@bumpzilla I don't actually have that album. I'm going to have to check that out! :P
This has some Lark's Tongues in Aspics Part 2 in the air
goddamn. cover is great, all shitting aside, the tone of the fuckin bass in this song makes titties bounce.
listen to that shit, and jam some pie in yer holes
@FrizleFry00 I have to agree with everything you just said. I discovered a few new bands because of Primus. Plus I think they make their covers their own, and I often prefer the cover tot he original thanks to my bias towards Primus :D
People dont do covers to "out do" the original so to expect that is strange to me...its an interpretation to expect anything more is pretty sad...this is Primus way of leading their fans to their interests and some pople miss the point. primus got me to listen to Jerry Reed already just tonight :p because Youtube comments told me who sings Amos Moses, dont try to stop progression with your single mindedness wildfire
FrizleFry00 yeah
Bom pra caralho!
Why are all of the comments on here either thrashing on primus or saying this is a good cover and then getting blasted to hell?
Fuck you guys, Primus is great.
PRIMUS SUCKS
@rickroach1 and 'Have a cigar'.
I'm a big Primus Fan, I recognize that Peter Gabriel's version is the best in many ways, but this is not a bad cover. I really like it a lot. If you don't like it, don't hear it. Easy as that :)
primus have nailed every cover they have done
Peter Gabriel's original version was FAR creepier and more effective than this...
This completely lacks the atomosphere and the sense of menace and suspense of the original, nor does it add anything new or interesting. It makes me wonder why they bothered. Yes they took this to a "whole new level", a whole new level of mediocrity.
Kazoo was outstanding tho.. Yes!!?!
Primus took this tune to a whole new level.
nuke97 not really
again, an excellent cover which leads people to the original, which they otherwise probably would have never heard. yeah primus sucks, and you commenters who do nothing but comment have really got it going on. another impeccable analysis by me, mouser98.
I find this cover more musical than the original
Primus sucks.
I'm gay actually.
But you're angry because you like Primus.
And you are gay too.
this is Shit!
"...I know something about
opening windows and doors
I know how to move quietly..."
@SELFISHPETE not really way before. both early nineties and still going
@dragonkeeper91 way before korn
Gods bless Les and his band mates for recognizing possibly the creepiest song ever written by a human. Peter Gabrial 'Intruder' has the power to chill...and Primus flaunts it...
timothy riley thats the feeling i was battling. and you said that Perfectly !!! i mean it tho.
Sounds like a very interesting interpretation of Peter Gabriel's original. I think PG's is still creepier and much more intense.
sounds like more subtle KoRn
StinkyGreenBud
if they sucks then why
Just to attempt this song is very cool. Primus is an amazing band and they are only 3 people. This is one the creepiest songs of all time and I would not have know about it without Primus.
There is no topping PG!
Malzarin Malvado ooo, also wellsaid. agreed, saw PG live, it was my lifes dream. cried of course 😋 lovvve primus, no other like the 3 vaqueros. jk. but for reals.
Amazing song.
...thanks!
...damn right!
