Primal Fear - King For A Day Lyrics

Can't change the past, the future's unknown
Don't turn your back, you threw the first stone

I gave you love - I give you hate
I've granted all your wishes
I gave you hope - I gave you pain
You are the Devil

You've reached the top - you sit on your throne
You're going down and you're going alone

I gave you love - I give you hate
And when your darkness fades away
I gave you hope - I give you pain
You better run

King for a day - it's your carnal desire
King for a day - I will call you a liar

Once there was love, now there is only doubt
Feel the anger taking over my faith

I gave you love - I give you hate
I'm counting all my scars
I gave you hope - I give you pain
Your life is war

When you see your dreams engulfed in flames
You'll see just my smile - there will be no rain

I gave you love - I give you hate
and now it's me against the world
I gave you hope - I give you pain
You better run

King for a day - it's your carnal desire
King for a day - I will call you a liar
King for a day
I've been broken and beat down
King for a day
I am no longer your clown

Discovered these guys back in the 90's when I was fresh into Pantera.
No hate to Tim Ripper Owens, but I always felt that Ralf Scheepers should have been Halford's replacement.
NOT knocking Ripper Owens...fuckin dig the guy too. It's just a personal preference probably based on the fact I was more aware of Scheepers than Owens is all.
No Hate......this is METAL.....we're united or we're shit.

Sounds like the mid 80's till the end of the decade and disappeared by the time grunge took over and the last gasp of the white man ...as a throwback to beings, reflected only true by the myths of Germanic tribes --- its Norse sagas, the barbarian hordes and the overthrow of an entire epoch of millennia ---rulers by such high achievements who's prose and wit (Juvenal, Livy), and engineering (aquaducts; feed metropolises of masses of humans; still function as if perpetual, thousands of years later), peeked at a time of universal peace "Pax Romanum" which was attained from the beasts being shafted by the swords of progress to conquere and unify and make a lingua franca by force "Latin" the tongue of what to say and be. For those outside of the Monolithic indestructible Empire it was awesome, in its hatred evoked within them and the envy which corrupted its nobility from a paucity of diseased practices... trade to get luxuries like wine and slaves, made the dynamic of the kill or be killed barbaricum, once a need for its own safety, to constantly war against those that had a little more space to breathe a larger birthing of your tribe, now twisted with not just the violence of the devil, from a beast, but the desire for something more abstract and yet powerful the more by its hold on the minds of anybody exposed to its evils --- MONEY! --- the gold, and silver and jewels, and the ideas which the powerful empire monopolized as the arbiter of who possessed it and who therefore lived in the favour of the emperors, such as Augustus and Hadrian, Diocletion, even its tyrants as Nero, served its spoiling within the reasoning of savages. Even more upon its elite... its senators swelled with greed, and its dampening the fire of hope among the common people. To the many hardened faces beyond the Rhine and Danube rivers it brought by death and obedience to fight for or against, and inevitbly it was one and eventually then the other stubbornly witheld absolute servitude to the power of law, for it was not just fear that repulsed them but it was the gain of this power (riches) that attracted them against certain death of fighting against the WALL to keep barbarism and its dangerous idealism away from the lifeless 90% of the base of its towers and fortified hills and garrisoned bridges over turbulent winter waters, made rich by the lack of arguments and troublesome quarresl among peoples now all joined together and servants of the man who gave them food and peace. But to the crowds of opportunity outside of the inner decay of he empire to inspire anymore patriotism to bear arms, for the plow and the shovel had given production and a rising population and life expectancy, and this mundane metronome had sapped all courage and made men once bellicose and capricious to be timid and easily steered by a couple of coins. Now the ones outside of hundreds of years of propaganda overwhelmed the nearly unguarded frontiers, for the very armies once Romans were now not even men of the provinces but barbarians in the pay of a dying way of life, which had grown old and weary, and yet like the elderly of any age have the means but not the legs... pay the youthful who still dream and hopefully to not turn on the ones who give you some work and jobs, mow the lawns and provide a sense of security from the Sambos who just stand dead till the master enters, and the brainless act of switch the light on, is the mark of success. The many disparate tribal councils that once easily fell against each other due to the skillful application of reward the ones who an fight for the inviolabilyt of the frontier line and the non-favored then topple out of the faces that greedily want what they cannr have, save the man must die.

But the status of a sum of many factors which had stabilized and empire that could no longer rely on external forces for a good show, then turned against itself for the godlike role of being the emporer, and the winning of a brutal gladiators reality to the spin off rip-0ff to blood lusters only corny gladiator contest on tv where you must battle against being out of shape vs. a muscle head who pushes you off an obstacle course. Not a gladius to the throat or a pilum that goes through your poor mans army shield that a barbarian had and thus through his legs, falls under the weight of the advanced forward legions and is crushed to death and stabbed by the many sharp edges that flail at you like a flat tire and then an angry wife, and then get fired, happens at once, well then it was utter death.

Greed would tell the spirit of man still it remains as it became then poisoned, today its the same, lust and greed, and serial killers the beserkers who would not stop for sanity and just killed includinge there own side when they blood frenzied against the rich man who bought them off one by one but who grew old and tired and wanted a slave to be a slave but pretended that it was civilized to be a slave and that being your master meant that you had to be his friend. Dissapointed the one who enslaved the purity of no cause to be corrupt for violence without motives of what it is today, is simply the reflexes of the animal kingdom. But to no longer necessitate the need to survive by violence, but but by being able to carry on conversations and express commonilty to give rules to signs and ettiquite, can confound anybody as it did to them, imagine so, when you go from Philadelphia to Romania, or how about from Belize, or Houston to Zambia, or Nepal.
Even anybody, the president of the USA and the Monarchy of England are considered brutes and kaffirs (so to speak) by the Chinese.

Bye bye. This melodic out of place to an era of reconstructing great ages of man, eg., musical and or psychological...

A more technical detailed work are the guitar and bass and often a keyboard, an Yngvie Malmsteen set up, and a favorite song was "I Am A Viking".

Grunge took over and death metal was left and had been chopping to death with Slayer and a few others like .... too many mention... all came out of Led Zeppelin, and Black Sabbath.

Now the caucasians, remembered that they hated the Romans, ironically it is the Latins that have been oppressed, but the Italians held their own till the RICO statutes burst the heydays of the mob to be nothing of what it was a generation and a handful of "what ifs?" and a few years ago.

BLaCK PPOWER was coming and the angst of being on the fences and tracks apart divided by Jim Crow for 100 yrs past slavery and even after Civil Rights, was the predjudice of "There goes the neighborhood" to move into a white only area of America.

Soon the decadant last gasp of whitey would go "overnight" white girls were at clubs with coloreds and long heard stoners and bad asses where being called "wiggers" for being black, and Jerry Springer would make millions exposing the facts of a changing of is entire views on the socialism of who and what to why and how.

It would cause many too lose there basis of existing. The clan, destroyed not just by blacks, which could not achieve for whites made up the majority but for the blacks being joined by whites who knew it was just wrong to believe what a lack of knowing anything had taught people.

We all must get along for we are all one group that is going to stop its struggles to say "I am not like you" and see that we are all one family and must get past these differences and look up to the higher skies above and say we are ready now to face you ... for we are one people, and we can learn to be wise like you.

  27. A.... C....

    These guys are really good!

  28. m.... g....

это их лучший ударник жалко расстались

  29. p.... ....

"A special sound"???? Not really. They are heavily influenced by Judas Priest. The singer is almost too similar.
Not that's a bad thing. But tha was done 30 yeas ago.

  30. J.... E....

    Perfect song, Primal Fear rules.

  31. V.... ....

I believe they have special sound, recognizable. They are awesome

  32. r.... ....

Now this is quality metal here, and what a vocalist !

  33. d.... D....

Holy shit! It's like if Judas Priest had Dave Mustaine as their vocalist, except this guy actually has talent.

    d.... D....

Huh? Dave Mustaine? I mean I like Megadeth, and Dave writes some great metal songs, but he certainly
isn't a real vocalist-like this guy Ralf Scheepers, or Rob Halford from Priest-just don't see the connection there

    d.... D....

I cannot hear a Mustaine on this one. Mustaine has no power and he cannot sing , but we don't listen to megadeth for the voice.

    d.... D....

@rbagel55 That's what I mean. Dave Mustaine isn't that good of a vocalist. This guy just has a voice that I think sounds similar to his, but he has a lot more talent and power as one.

    d.... D....

I get what you're saying, he's got that snarl and grit and similar tone that Dave has. Difference is that this guy has range and control, whereas Dave is just "doing it". I love Dave's vocals personally, very raw and real and it suits Megadeth perfectly. Talent wise though, this guy is leagues above Dave. Both really talented though in different ways

  34. K.... P....

    HAIL METAL\m/

  35. L.... M....

I hear Priest in this. However it reminds me a bit more of Accept with their new singer

  36. J.... G....

    I love the singers voice.

    J.... G....

You wouldn't expect a voice like that from a man that looks the way he does xD, It's amazing.

    J.... G....

Plus the fact that he is 51 (my age) is what is even more amazing.
My guess is he takes care of himself and exercises to keep himself strong

  37. C.... M....

    1:36 Jeff Hanneman is alive!

  38. G.... ....

The vocalist is like a blend between Rob Halford and David mustaine. Epic!

    G.... ....

+FilthyCasual Where the heck did you hear Mustaine in this? xD

    G.... ....

similar tone of voice, similar sounding "grit". This guy is way more talented though. Both are great in their respective bands

    G.... ....

Hey, you're right! But tougher than either.

    G.... ....

    Dave Mustaine?? He sucks

    .... I....

@eko abriady Primal Fear (the debut), Jaws of Death and Black Sun IMO. Delivering the Black and Unbreakable (the more recent albums) are almost good as well.

    .... I....

+eko abriady Nucler Fire and Seven Seals

    .... I....

in my opinión their best albums are Nuclear Fire, New Religion and Primal Fear, you don't have to lose the opportunity to hear Jaws of death, Seven Seals and Unbreakable, that are great too

  62. D.... S....

Haha lol look at Randy's face when he's playing

  71. J.... M....

It's like Judas Priest never existed ...

  72. g.... ....

I claim this song as below average, can anyone argue with me?
    Why do you like it?

  73. C.... B....

    filho bastardo do Rob Halford

  74. T.... ....

Ugh, at some point you've heard it once and you've heard it all. WHERE IS NEW MUSIC AT???????? I can't find anything original.

  75. C.... H....

I don't know about you guys, but I am so fucking bored with all the comparisons between Primal Fear and Judas Priest.  So what if there are certain ways their singer sounds like Rob Halford?  I hear them, but there are many differences as well.

    C.... H....

But this band was made because the vocalist from this band was rejected as Rob Halford's replacement... Not a surprise that they would be compared

    C.... H....

@GameGaming But Ralf has better control of his voice then rob will ever have.

    C.... H....

You are hearing many sounds from many different bands rolled into one,it's how great music is made! This band is fuckin awesome!! Nuff said.

  80. S.... ....

    Intro from 90's.

    S.... ....

That was my first thought, holy crap, the colors, the music from the intro os so early 90's. Teh song ist great, really i like the whole Album but the video is....gosh... nope. The vid's in the 90's had more style.

  81. B.... G....

this is the best "king for a day" song i've ever heard than "king for a day" of metallica and "king for a day" of green day.

  82. f.... t....

This song is good but the video concept is generic as fuck... disappointment

    f.... t....

    I'm agree with you pikachu

    f.... t....

lame ass shit video, just like the music

    f.... t....

+LED ZEPPELIN Yet you couldn't do it I'll bet. Douchebag

    f.... t....

Well maybe that is what the band wanted. Personally as a musician myself
I rather see a video of a band performing their song

  83. J.... J....

Is this the guitarist the Singer of the Hammerfall ?!?!

  84. B.... R....

Saw them in Austin tx. A few years back and was surprised that there was only about 15 people in the club. We got there very early and the band invited us out to lunch at a nearby restaurant. Great band and very friendly. They deserve a lot more recognition.

  85. s.... g....

    awesome
