Price, Ray - Girl I Used To Know Lyrics
There's a picture that I carry
One we made some time ago
If they ask who's in the picture with me
I say just a girl I used to know
Just a friend from long ago
I don't tell them how lost I am without her
I say she’s just a girl I used to know
I say she's just another girl now
Just a flame that's lost its glow
And I say her name has slipped my mind now
And she's just a girl I used to know
Just a girl I used to spend some time with
I don't talk about the nights I cried about her
I say she's just a girl I used to know
Just a girl I used to know

Price, Ray Girl I Used To Know Comments
Pretty good ,but George Jones is a hard act to follow. Porter and Dolly tried it. My vote goes to George😎
Reminds me of my 1st husband. He's gone now. Why did I ever let him go? Thank God I did get the chance to give him the care he needed near the end. Our song was FOR THE GOOD TIMES.
Just to much..FANTASTIC...
Beautiful song! Thank you for sharing! :)
We all have one! Best expressed like this.
This is the version that runs through my head across the years. The way it's supposed to be sung.
Country music by ray price the best n all all country music on the top chart
such talent. Only one real country singer left and thats Gene Watson.
I sang this one with a band

Great song ! Hello type in "Ron Howard cover" listen to Opie sing "The Dance"! To all of us who have lost loved ones "Life goes that fast, and we will see them again that soon"! R.I.P. Ray
A MAN I KNEW IN MARYLAND WAS A MAN THAT LOVED THIS MUSIC FROM RAY PRICE, HIS NAME WAS WAYNE, WE DANCED THE NIGHT AWAY MANY A NIGHT, I GREW TO LOVE THIS MAN, AND HE WAS MY DSAUGHTERS DADDY, BUT THEY TELL ME HE DIED, AND A PART OF ME DIED THEN TOO!
My hero!
SÅ JÄTTEFINT
He is one of my favorite singers
An Old West TEXAS Favorite.
To be able to sing and at the same time recite poetry like Ray is unique .
So true.
Is this music set to poetry or the reverse . Both .
Love Ray Price he was a real country gentleman
It must have been mid 60s, a friend snuck me into the playmate lounge outside Amarillo TX to hear this guy, all 23 piece band took up the entire dance floor, been a fan ever since. Thx for the "good times"
Have listen to this man many many years sure miss hearing him sing
Yes indeed.
We miss you Ray here in 2019
Wish that someone was here, he is in God’s hands now
a polished country voice, similar to Don Williams
just a friend i used to know....
just someone i used to know..
This song has been one of my favorites for many years, and I have heard it sung by a number of great country singers, but having listened to Ray Price's rendition sung as only he can sing it, hands down is the best. What a voice; what an artist!
my wife 's whose not a music lover just walked into the room . She said "boy that's nice music" . She's never said that . Boy oh Boy .
John, that is really remarkable, just shows you how powerful Ray can be.
Beautiful, beautiful song from a wonderful album!! Mr Price's voice is so warm and sincere....Simply beautiful! Thank you jeriw!!
~Marianne...
Marianne Menon, Glad you enjoy my posts, thanks.
Simply the best
I love you for thos.
so right.
LOVE THIS SONG SO MUCH❤
This is when I was in love with country music and played pedal steel guitar full time.
I'm not a country fan anymore. The last Opry show I whent to was so politicized it was disgusting.
No fiddle, No steel guitar breaks, just rock and roll trash.
Country isn't country anymore, not many of the original ones left. So I listen to the old ones.
So very true and beautiful!!
Simply no voice like this lives in what is called country music of today......it is crap!!
it's not country anymore. It;s like the world has grown cold
One of the greats from long ago
So Beautiful it brought me to tears! I love this song and just someone I used to know.
What a great man. At one concert, he was very sick on stage but after the concert he still stayed to sign autographs. A few days later, I found out he was in the hospital with pneumonia. Great singer. Deeply missed.
Lovely voice 😍 love it
I always loved this Cowboy Jack Clement song. Ray changed the words a little but a great version.
best singer of all time
Just one of the best voices ever.
wonderful voice! I can listen to it every minute,
One of the best voices in music. Period.
just a flame that will never lose its glow
ray price is the best singer of all time
A legend in his on his time great voice
Ed Moore j
fantastic
For a time when he was supposedly recording lush orchestra music, this song from the late 80s sounds pure country. That lovely deep voice!
The best voice in any music, no one comes close
Mellow but marked by life! <3
this is a great voice.
I don't know you Jeri but I am sure envious of the love you had for him.
HOW CAN ONE PERSON FEEL SO LONELY AND ALONE, WHEN THERE IS PEOPLE ALL AROUND. HELLO? DOES ANYONE KNOW I'M HERE? CAN YOU SEE ME?
KATHERINE MARLOW

Texas Lonestar blue eyes crying in the rain Ray Price

Reacquaint yourself with the friend you used to know, your worthy self.

Don't get any better than this,Ray's voice and the music is unbelieveable!!!!!!
This was when country music ruled the USA. Please can someone bring country back to its senses. "Murder On Music Row" George Strait & Allan Jackson. How true. mos60
mosrite60 I never tire of listening to the consummate voice of ray price and have not. For 55 years.
mosrite60 lol
You can change the course of things in the voting booth.
It’s gone, hold on to your memories.
@Ronald Coronado Make that 68 years for my self, & still love that voice.
listening to ray price is likei listening to two great singers in one man. he had such great knack fo surrounding himself with great musicisians. i feel there will never be another as good as him. he was great on the old stuff and the new. tc in tx.
+Tom Carter I can't do anything but agree with you, in my book he was the best and very under rated. There wasn't anything the man couldn't sing.
All of the great musicians wanted to play with Ray because his music is fun to play if you are a good musician. Especially steel guitar or fiddle.
I love Van Howard's harmony:)
I don't think I've heard a bad version of this superb song. Ray Price does full justice to it and I only wish that Marty Robbins had recorded this true classic.
+tarquin45 I'm also a Marty Robbins fan, I wish he had recorded it also. Check my videos, I have several of Ray and Marty together on the old Spot Light series Marty had. Totally excellent program.
tarquin45 m,
Ahhh, Ray & Marty, by two top artists.
love this one ! but so sad !!
what a songwriter the recently late Cowboy Jack Clement was, he wrote so many huge hits for so many big stars. Jack could smell a hit a mile away.
I'm a big Ray Price fan.
+Ray Aydelott If you're on Face Book, you should join the Ray Price Fan Club page, we have nothing but Ray Price and post his must all the time. I think you have to ask to be added, but I or someone else will do it. https://www.facebook.com/groups/17827044385/

OUR SONG
Good by, Ray.
We will never forget you Ray and we know how you loved fiddle playing. I know some of your fiddle playing buddies who were there waiting on you and God welcomed you with open arms.
Prayers are keeping that man going right now, he just had a sepsis scare and is in the ICU but he seems to be recovering, what a tough man this guy is at.
There are several good versions of this song,But Ray just takes it 2 another level, what a voice
Thanks
Well I sure wouldn't disagree with you, but I'm thinking Ray is a 10, but of course that's just me, LOL.
jeriw maybe he is even a 20. Smooth as glass what a class act!!
