Presley, Elvis - Talk About The Good Times Lyrics
Well I remember when I was as children
The time the people used to treat the neighbor like a fellow man
And all their singin' and big prayer meetin's
When a man was proud to walk up and shake his neighbors hand
Talk about the good times
Oh if you ever needed help a friend was there
Some good neighbor
Help lift your burden
Mmm, and the simple joys of life a friend would share
Times are harder and the people are changin'
Now most folks couldn't tell you who their neighbors are
All their guns are loaded, the front doors are bolted
Ain't this ol' world takin' hate and fear just a little too far
Oh you talk about the good times,
Talk about the good times
I wish I could go back to the days I'm speakin of
When a friend would meet you
And a smile would greet you
What this ol' world needs now is a little old fashioned love
My granddaddy God rest his soul now
Well we had a big long talk together the day he died
Said son this world is full of hate and venom
An' I can't wait to leave this ol' place and rest on the other side
Oh you talk about the good times, talk about the good times
Talk about the good times
I'm gonna see all the friends I knew in the good ol' days
We'll have a big hand shakin'
An' sit and talk together
Sit down by the river Jordan and sing our blues away
Oh you talk about the good times, talk about the good times
Talk about the good times
I'm gonna see all the friends I knew in the good ol' days
We'll have a big hand shakin'
An' sit and talk together
Sit down by the river Jordan and sing our blues away
Oh you talk about the good times, talk about the good times
Talk about the good times
I'm gonna see all the friends I knew in the good ol' days
We'll have a big hand shakin'
An' sit and talk together
Sit down by the river Jordan and sing our blues away

This is a needed song today . Good times are in short supply
Elvis Presley told it like it was. ,,,,what this old world needs now is Good old fashioned Love.
I remember when friends use to talk with you night and day, break bread with you and hang out with a beer. I had to bring those memories back in some of my plays reflect t all the days we had left behind, some forgot how they left it and some just don't want to receive, and I understand that. but I had to bring back when things are simplifier there are man people use to talk down into.us but for then they had to change thier life also. thank you, Frankie Laine, michael and Elvis. yes michael.i had to remember the time we fell in love.
Is perfect for this altered world of 2019
The sun never shines on a legend

Yes, I sure do miss the Good Times, the time of a friendly neighborhood and communities. Now people say Hi and you get a weird responce. Society is going backwards

Right!!! This is the line I love the most!
My family had a good time with our family friend Elvis Aaron Presley.
Those where the good times..
Fabulous!
HE JUST HAD AWAY WITH A SONG. T.C.B
So much true in the words of this song, Thanks Elvis for sharing your life with us:-)
Great...
ooops, mistated. Was looking at your post and typed '73 when I meant '77. scuses
Nice comment. Do you have a picture of Jesse Presley? Do you have one of Gladys's Dad? In passing, I just can't keep from saying that Elvis could still cut it till his last concert in '73. Matter of fact, it could be argued that he can still cut it. :-) He does sing with the voice of an angel---most specially his gospel. :-)
Pepe, I am proud to say I am an ORIGINAL fan of Elvis Presley's and let me say I loved your video. You picked a very underrated Elvis tune written by the great Jerry Reed to shwcase the "good times" in The King's life and there were many. My only suggestion would have been to insert a picture of Jesse Presley (Vernon's father) to insert in the "my grandaddy" line. Otherwise, perfect. Cheers from Jersey, Guy Kent, singer @ CBSEye p.s. Elvis could still cut it in '73 when this track was recorded
Love the funky keyboard in this song.
love this song, makes me think of my grandpa when he died while I held his hand.
Great song, great pictures, I will always love Elvis. I am taking my third tip to Graceland in two weeks.
I love this song. Superb and yet unknown by the public!
aaaa i love this song!
Memories will live on forever in our lives.
