Power Station, The - She Can Rock It Lyrics
She got goose-egg power-chords
And a nasty 2&4
She can rock it
She can tap in 32
She can show you her tattoo
What good's a rock without a roll
It's a sorry lookin' donut if it doesn't have a hole
She gets so hot she's infra-red
She can show you a position that's prohibited
She's got kisses like cocaine
She's got access to a plane
She can rock it
Check out her anatomy
She can rock it
She's got an axe she's got a rig
You know she'll never miss a beat
And she ain't never missed a gig
She'll pin you down she'll knock you out
She can wrestle with your ego
Till your pride goes out
She can rock it
She's a shake that comes with fries
Never listens to your lies
She can rock it
She can set your pants on fire
She can strip you to the wire
She can rock it
She can nail you to a frame
Say that you're the one to balme
She can rock it
She can tell you what to wear
She can strip your conscience bare
She can rock it

I'm melting
They knew how to write stripper songs!!! 👏👏👏
all stars andy taylor tony thomson robert palmer
I love each of Robert Palmer's songs and how he sings of his love for his woman as if he's on the brink of losing absolute control.
She has kisses like cocaine and access to your brain she can Rock it!
Just remember the devil knows all your buttons, the how and when. She says consider the source fool. Ha! If there were such a thing.
Wow Fantastic Song Of 1996 Excelent Robert Palmer
Great song. Hard fo find
I bought cd when it was released
Holy moly this is GOLD
I think I like this song better than anything else anyone in this band ever did. Just dirty, hard-hitting rock and roll. Pure awesome!
If their record company had pushed this when it came out, right around the time of Stone Temple Pilots "Plush", it would have fit right in to that era.
Grande Andy Taylor 👏🏻
Quantas saudades Big love
GOOOOOOD
Awesome song and such a cool video, brings back many memories. RIP Robert, Tony, Bernard. Thanks for the music - including JT & AT of course
I think Power Station looks cooler without John Taylor.
JT always seemed fake to a large degree. Always chasing the limelight, the latest trend. I'm amazed he didn't suggest collaborating with Puff Daddy while in Duran Duran, because we all know what they became after 2005.
It looks wrong without JT. Still sounds good though.
Cmon heartbreak in motion let's Rock it😎
Wow, this one's without John Taylor, he's not there in the vid anyway... can anyone tell some more?? (Great tune, by the way).
Someone has already written something about that below.
Wielka Synteza John was originally scheduled to play on this, but entered rehab instead, with the bands understanding and support.
Palmer was the anti-rock star. He rejected the idea of the rock star. That's what made him so cool.
Very, very much so.
A little bit of excess on the sophistication and cheap sexism but otherwise, 'cool' anti-rock star. And I love Living in Fear - Don't lift a finger for fear you'll offend. With Trump and the biased media against him I keep thinking there must have been one or two musicians who think differently from the celebs.
Wow never realised the 2nd era of Pwr Stn music was this good. RIP to the greats, Edwards, Palmer and Thompson.
Thx for posting
Rif2020 check out Power Trippin from Living in Fear. I always thought it was the best track on the album.
Ken Allen Thanx for the tip. :)
This one of my all time favorite supergroups!
yeah! he's never looked sexier than in this clip. smiling.. not smiling...dam HE CAN ROCK IT!! this is pure gold 💖
Wow. First time hearing this cut. Wow. Mighty nice. Palmer lives on!
So...Robert Palmer was 47 here? Amazing!!!! I would ;)
is he 47'here? geez he never looked better!
+Laura Kenney and you know I would too! NO DOUBT... wow
Hottest middle aged man ever! I'd even go out and get some tattoos if I thought I could show them to RP! ;)
These guys had some serious hard luck. John and Andy are the only original members left. First they lost Bernard Edwards, who took over for JT, then Robert Palmer, and finally Tony Thompson (supposedly two months after Palmer).
+depecheddurand Yep. I have their CD.
As for PS3, I wouldn't count on it. John and Andy are on the outs because John threw him under the bus when he was fired from Duran Duran the second time--which sucked, because he was the one who talked Andy into coming back in the first place.
Andy was`nt fired from DD he quit pretty much no call no show .He had issues with nick they don`t get along .As far as PS3 is concerned my ideal lineup is micheal desbares on vocals, john taylor bass, andy taylor guitars and sterling Campbell on drums.
+depecheddurand That would be a good lineup. who would handle vocals? I'd let JT handle them, personally.
Micheal des barres who filled in for robert palmer during live aid ..he was in sugar town movie with john taylor
Eh? JT is a horrible vocalist.
Whereas Andy is pretty good on Thunder.
Actually, JT was in rehab, but they still gave him credit for writing. But that's as far as it went; he didn't tour with them, and he wasn't considered a member of PS for "Living in Fear."
I never knew The Power Station got back together in the 90's. And clearly we know where John was during this time, committed to his original band, Duran Duran and now I know why Andy still didn't come back when Electric Barbarella came out.
+Andrew White
No, at that time John left DD, but he also left PS because he had problems in marriage and quickly after that he went
to rehab.
Very few in the US did. "Living in Fear" didn't come out here until about three or four years after it was finished. It was on sale in Japan for about two years before it got an American release. Same thing with Andy's second solo album, "Dangerous." It finally became available on the online services in 2010 or so, a good 20+ years after it was released in the first place, and it never got a CD release in the US. It wasn't as good as "Thunder," but it still deserved to be heard.
As for Andy coming back, at that time it was a long shot. He left on really bad terms; they had to threaten to sue him just to get him in the studio for "Notorious," and then it went so badly they just let him go. I think he only had one song he played on, and they didn't credit him for it. And it all started up again when he came back for "Astronaut."
Still, maybe him coming back would have saved us from "Medazzaland" and "Pop Trash."
♪♫ IN MEMORY of TONY THOMPSON ~ This Day in Music: November 12, 2003 – Tony Thompson, best known as the drummer of The Power Station and a member of Chic, died in Los Angeles. Thompson was a session drummer who had played drums with Led Zeppelin (along with Phil Collins) at Live Aid in 1985. He often worked on many studio projects with Nile Rogers first as the drummer with Chic, He also played on David Bowie's 'Let's Dance' album and Madonna’s ‘Like A Virgin’ album. He was raised in the middle-class community of Springfield Gardens, in Queens, New York. He died just two months after The Power Station band-mate Robert Palmer's death from a heart attack. ♪♫
Bernard Edwards on bass guitar!
He was more dedicated to DD at the time. Although he was willing to contribute, he never pursued the second album.
I know he wrote some of the songs. He even left during the Medazzleland sessions. I know he was going through a divorce at the time.
This song is awesome! I wasn't aware of this video. Its missing John Taylor though.
awesome. i wasn't familiar with this PS song. great track, great video. thanks for the upload.
