Police, The - Hole In My Life Lyrics
Yeah
Yeah
Yeah
Yeah
Yeah
Yeah
Yeah
There's a hole
In my life
There's a hole
In my life
Shadow in my heart
Is tearing me apart
In my stars
There's a hole
In my life
There's a hole
In my life
Be a happy man
I try the best I can
Or maybe I'm just looking
For too much
There's something missing from my life
Cuts me open like a knife
It leaves me vulnerable
I have this disease
I shake like an incurable
God help me please
Oh, there's a hole
In my life
There's a hole
In my life
Yeah...

All incredible musicians

Mind roasting how good these guys were together ! Love em !

My Life: The Police.
While I was playing Max Payne 3, I was wonder why this song wasn't playing at the bar he was in before the Jersey Boys showed up.
La inquietud del ser, todas las personas la sufrimos de repente...viva the Police albums 333
Prefiero las versiones en vivo de este tema , son mucho mas energizantes
The police es una de mis bandas favoritas. Escucho The Police hace 38 años
Stu in the pocket. Sting grooving & Andy cruising!
The police still one of the best band's that ever existed in the world!!!
Sting, I saw Stuart after that brawl! he had it coming!!!
To those who say it sounds like The Beatles, this song probably remonds you of " Fixing a hole" Not only the name of the song but also the opening chord progression.
Story of my Life
Ερ'μα μουνια τα, πουτσα λακωθηκατε?
This song is beyond amazing! Listen to what Sting is doing on the bass all throughout the song. It is so much character and color in the bass line. Stings bass playing is so funky. Andy is such a team player back there playing the perfect little reggae tinged chords to add a totally different dimension. And the master showman / show off Stew back there just making those drums explode like bombs bursting in air. Amazing drumming from an amazing drummer. Truly one of the greatest bands of all time.
In my life too.
oh yeah punker lonely empty sweetness pain and emptiness never sounded so damn good
one of their most underappreciated songs imo
Not by us x
I heard this plenty on the radio that's how I knew it.
There Is A Hole In Your Life? I'm So Sorry To Hear About That! Maybe You Will Still Have A Positive Life? I Hope You Fill That Hole With Happiness! My Life Is Similar In A Way! There Is A Hole In My Ass! I Noticed It While Sitting On The Toilet? Maybe It Was Always There For A Reason?
Paul Mazz Perhaps you should similarly fill that hole in your ass with happiness?
why edit?
From their first LP, and still, almost 40 years after its release (1978), I marvel at the fact that they were marketed, successfully, as a "punk" band.
Ferocious energy aside, there is an incredible aggregate musical intelligence here, virtuosic playing, and something that I bet very few in their audience had ever heard before:
Even though he's playing his rhythm part through a phase-shifter, what Andy Summers is doing is SWINGING, playing rhythm in the style of Count Basie's long-time stalwart, Freddie Green.
One of the half-dozen or so truly great Rock bands in history.
YEAP...was the one who broke 666....hahahahaha......awesome song.....thanks POLICE!
One of my 10 favourites and one of best rock/pop tracks of all time. Simply a fantastic song and record. And a moment to return on a time machine and try to go the life clean and fill the holes and gaps.
this song is messed up, especially at the end when it repeats over and over like he's actually in a hole, listen to it on psychedelics and you actually see every hole in your life, and guess what it's just a hole. it is usually filled with addictions, food, money, sex, caffeine, nicotine, drugs, exercise, alcohol, love from others, anything to release the chemicals to fill the hole with some pleasure
There are plenty of excuses for some of those though, food and sex are evolutionary, exercise is good for you (even if it is driven by vanity, its better than obesity driven by laziness) and love from others is evolutionary as well, the only reason humans have become what we have is because of communication and relationships. But you're on your own with the alcohol and drugs.
@J PH hahaha you're name checks out at least
so many memories coming back...wonderful stuff. #considered to be my absolutely favourite song
I can't stop listening to The Police. Still one of my favorite bands!
Tubes12AX7k got that right!!

Greetings from CHILE.
you noticed that too
chile cabeza de japi que tocá? que toca?
My PTSD anthem. I can't say how many times I've been a chiché listening to this song.
I love the early stuff. But I also like some tracks from the other albums.
Timemachine ------>1981 when i used to listen to this song and The Police all the time
There's A Hole In My Pension Plan http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2015-09-16/how-underfunded-are-us-corporate-pension-plans
no one cares shut up
The early Police were ten times better. Anything they did after 1980 just doesn't match up to stuff like this.
Or 1981, when Hugh Padgham became their producer.
U R Rite. 10 X's Better.
@moehammondmedia i like it all even stings solo work but was definitely somethin special about the pre 81 albums songs were much faster paced
In my opinion, "Synchronicity" really saw them back on form. Interestingly, the LP that they were least satisfied with was "Zenyatta Mondatta". Much of it was a rush job, written in the studio as a result of the time that they had spent touring. This explains the amount of "filler" on that album.
Great tune - it very tangentially brings to mind the Beatles "Fixing a Hole", just a slight bit of wistful melancholy, just a bit of the melody and arrangement - and absolutely nothing wrong with that :)
@Paul Vicory definitely. they actually used to play Fixing a Hole in the middle of this in the early live shows.
Yeah... Yeah... Yeah... Yeah!
This IS defo my fave Police song ♥
There's a song in my life to fill the hole in my life. This song was so typical of the largess of great music that the police created. They were really good in concert, I saw them three times and I saw sting once solo (with Jann Arden).
I really enjoy this song, it moves. Kinda dance/reggae. It's fun to play as a musician.
Sounds like The Beatles
'specially the solo yeh
Have never thought that. But you are right. An amazing song.
wanna be
Classic Rocks Prog' magazine might ask the question.......'How Prog' are The Police?'............& I would have said not at all .........until I heard this track, ....there are definitely some proggy elements going on here !........nice one STING !
Um, it's more Andy Summers at this point than Sting. Just sayin.
@Nannada1212 Sting wrote the song.
damn I love this song!
There'[s a hole in my life.. God help me please.. There's a hole in my life.... and I know what it is... the concert I went to and saw the Police and Sting was wearing these white pants with this incredible ass... there is hole in my life because I didn't get picked to bear his children...hahaha
I had this all day long today at work. I don't know why. Great rhythm.
