Poets Of The Fall - Fool's Paradise Lyrics
I remember laughter
My rollercoaster emotions
Oh, how they echo in my mind
Like counterfeit excitement
This happy pandemonium
And it feels like flying
It's a fool's paradise
And here we go denying
That there's always a price
And no easy way out
But we can leave our gilded cages
In the silence of minds
I remember the question
And I could feel you by my side
Rare like the flower
Peace without euphoria
This surrender feels so right
And it feels like flying
It's a fool's paradise
And here we go denying
That there's always a price
And no easy way out
But we can leave our gilded cages
In the silence of minds
There ain't no denying
It feels like, like flying
Two worlds colliding
There ain't no bargaining
No giving in without a fight
Model of defiance
In the face of adversity
You keep your target in your sights
And it feels like flying
Outta fool's paradise
And there's no denying
But I'll pay the price
With my fear and doubt
I'll leave them in their cages
And rise to blinding heights

Poets Of The Fall Fool's Paradise Comments
The tale of euphoric love gone awry, resulting in one of the lovers running away in fear...
My partner and I have been binging Buffy the Vampire Slayer, lately, and I'm actually thinking of Xander and Anyanka, now...rather fitting, considering how Xander loved Anya so much, he became afraid of hurting her...yet did just that when he left his beloved at the altar in his fear.
Sometimes, when one loves so passionately, they get scared and accidentally inflict pain instead of preventing it...tragic.
What I love about this song is that the "rollercoaster emotions" at the start seem to literally echo in the singers mind throughout the song; an upbeat song with contradicting lyrics (such as "this surrender feels so right") that suggest an end to "this happy pandemonium"
I don't want to look at it inverted
15 years of Amazing Rock life thanks to you guys.. This song reminded me back the days when first heard POTF. Love you guys !!! 😁😎 \m/
As a child from the 80s, Intro reminds me of Ultravox, the drums of a-Ha's - Take on me and a bit of the rock songs from the late 90s/early 2000s - a truly masterpiece - love it since Max Payne 2 and can't stop listening to POTF
For some reason this song perfectly fits cloudy and rainy weather. It’s so bittersweet.
I LOVE THIS BAND SO MUCH, THEY DESERVE MORE FANS!!!!!!!
best band ever
I remember laughter
My rollercoaster emotions
Oh, how they echo in my mind
Like counterfeit excitement
This happy pandemonium
Of zooming in on our next high
And it feels like flying
It's a fool's paradise
And here we go denying
That there's always a price
And no easy way out
But we can leave our gilded cages
In the silence of minds
I remember the question
Who are we really living for
N' I could feel you by my side
Rare like the flower
Peace without euphoria
This surrender feels so right
And it feels like flying
It's a fool's paradise
And here we go denying
That there's always a price
And no easy way out
But we can leave our gilded cages
In the silence of minds
There ain't no denying
It feels like, like flying
Two worlds colliding
There ain't no bargaining
No giving in without a fight
Model of defiance
In the face of adversity
You keep your target in your sights
And it feels like flying
Outta fool's paradise
And there's no denying
But I'll pay the price
With my fear and doubt
I'll leave them in their cages
And rise to blinding heights
This is so good
My favorite song from this album POTF you'll always rock! Hope someday I can see you live!
Reminds me of "The Verve - Bittersweet Symphony". Nice song
full of positive energy
Wau! 😀
The lyrics, the music, the vocal... this band became my obsession the moment I heard about them.
🖤🖤🖤🖤
Same the music and lyrics speak volumes to me. 🥀
Brothers are bro
Cousins are cuz
When I listen to poets
The whole neighborhood does!
nice lol
Remembers an Anime song. But, this music give a key to a new imagination of the universe.
Best song in Ultraviolet. Hands down.
Perfect intro song for "REBOOT THE GUARDIAN CODE "
amo questa canzone!
damm, i must have replayed like 10 times already. this need more tumbs up
Real music is finally here love you guys poets of the fall for life 🎵🎶
Bem legal esse álbum, mas algumas faixas estão eletrônica isso descaracteriza a melhor fase do potf , prefiro o estilo mais pesado, mais psicodélico como nós antigos álbuns.
Once in 2012 then again in 2018 NH7 weekender in Kolkata.... Saw you guys live.... My life seems lighter now.....
Masterpiece.
The intro is so similar to Ultravox's "Dancing with tears..."
Poets of fall SHOULD make a music video of this song
This song could just have easily fit on the Jealous Gods tracklist...in my point of view.
This has such an 80s sound :O
Take on me?
Lyrics are great, but I loved how their songs used to end on a ominous minor chord that instils doubt and uncertainty - how the songs used to play games with you and seductively hint at a dark, passionate, connected story and love, lust, guilt, and deception that spanned across songs and across albums. I particularly miss the jester, the question mark, the evil Puppet Master, the Fool who stands as a dark emblem of mischief to make you question the reality that the songs paint for you; to make you doubt if all this is illusion and dream to cover up some deeper sinister truth. Clearview was a fantastic album with great vision - it felt like a new, updated reincarnation of Poets, with the same poetic core, occasional softness and high operatic drama and thrills, with some truly provocative and inspired imagery (the mental versailles, the puppet master astride a pale horse, the shadow play directed in your mind starring love and hate, and of course every single line of Moonlight Kissed). These songs... they're good, and lyrical gold, but too reliant on electronic effects, and instead of being consistently good, are good only in small parts and feel boring as a whole because they don't change things up enough inside the song.
I agree that the album is lackluster, but I think they have been for a while now. However I always thought they went overboard *wink* with the jester act and all that sh*t. To me the POTF magic will always be in those progressive rock guitar days of Signs of Life maybe till Temple of Thought. Everything after was downhill IMO.
@theprion For me personally, the downhill curve started from Clearview onwards, even though I still love a hell of a lot of songs on Clearview. And yeah, they used to be awesome in the old days. But honestly, I think going overboard and risking censure for being a little extreme is better than mellowing down and becoming just okay.
Wow..!!
Music like this is a little too "strong" for american audiences, thats why POTF are not popular there. They prefer tentacion rap over this.
how is it "strong"?
@Luculencia Its a joke. Americans when they don,t like something they usually say its strong for me.
Masterpiece <3
Loveeeeeee
thank you for coming in India 🙌
Cant wait until you guys come to sweden next year!! See you there!!
Best wishes and infinite love to this band..... Want this band for future prospects ...
This is so precious :')
Beautiful <3
You cant imagine how incredible this song sounds the morning when being late for class. Running fast but smiling like a fool in paradise
The title reminds me of TRIGUN.
My favorite song of this album
This album sounds like jealous gods part 2...and that is completely fine with me...i truly think they've established the perfect sound style that suits them best.
This album is so good!
I love how happy/tragic this song is. Like it seems upbeat and optimistic, but the lyrics indicate it's almost like a drug addict on a trip, knowing it will end, that they're hiding from a pain somehow, but they don't care in that moment, they just have a dim awareness they will crash at some point. It's so well written.
My gf just breakup with me, this song is saving my life
This is "that" song. Every Poets album has that one song that is uniquely them and that I'll find my ears perking up to when it's turn comes up in a play session, and this is it, hands down. "Once upon a playground rainy" was the one on the last record. I love everything these guys create, but man I wouldn't know what to do with myself if they had an entire record of gems like this.
Even my favorite song in last album was "Once upon a playground rainy"!
Couldn’t agree more. This is one of those songs I could see being played on radio stations for sure. Has that humbling and catchy sound to it. Almost like a cold playesque stylization to it. Love the album and most certainly love the song. My dark disquiet and sweet escape are pretty fantastic too!
Urh same, this is the one that stole my heart from the very beginning ♥
I had the pleasure of seeing poets of the fall play live in London last week it was an unforgettable show words can not express how amazing it was me and my friend were blown away
Every song of potf is a masterpiece...hope to see them performing live very soon in shillong🤓🤓🤓really excited😍😍😍😍
Where the hell are Ollie and Jaska in this album?? Captain is the only one who wanna shine in Ultraviolet, that's evident and makes me sick!!
What happened to you guys? This is the only one song I liked from the whole ultraviolet....
I think it plays too heavily on ballads personally.
Dark Disquiet is good.
My faves are False Kings and Standstill... Love that one so bad. But I'm agree too, UV don't like it as much as I hoped before it get released :/
Maybe you just have shit taste? :>
Oh, how I love such comments! Maybe, it's other way round? Maybe you should ask: 'What happend to ME? It's the only one song from Poets of the Fall new allbum that I like' 😶
Artis. Doesn't. Owe. You. Anything. Beside good quality of the songs.
Makes one look forward, full of confidence and hope. Sounds like life.
Hey guys , will you upload official live performance of this album, like you made for 10th anniversary of Moscow concert ??? 😍😍 Hungry for that
Moscow wasn't just youtube upload, it was properly directed, produced and released DVD, making of which took lots of resources. They had to make a pledge campaign for it, otherwise they wouldn't be able to fund it. So unless they do such campaign again (and we haven't heard anything like that so far) they simply don't have any live vids to upload. If their gigs are filmed it's usually by the venue/festival organizers and then it's not entirely up to the guys to share it as they please. In a word, it's not so simple.
@serinde1 true that, it is seldom. But as a fan, i am expecting it. The way they have connectivity with their audience in live is fascinating.
"There is peace in no expectations." ;)
The most UNDERATED band ive ever had the pleasure to discover. over 10 years they should be top charted already
Because the charts are for the mindless masses who submit to the money laundering music machine. POTF requires you to think and thus doesn't conform.
@Michael Turner So, you are implying that you are better than the masses?
@apostrophe 21 No...just that he has better taste. Besides, it wouldn't take much...
They're famous in Russia, India and other parts of Eastern Europe. But except India none of those countries are English speaking country..
agree I listen them 5 yrs, every song is masterpiece, i can listen it every day still, this is group which has to be in mainstream, like Metallica, i dont understand it
MegaPower Sound!
que gran cancion me encanta.
Jari Salminen 😍 . You rock . I am very sad because i will be not able to attend your upcoming indian-guwahati and kolkata concert. My bad. :(
Same here 😣
wait...there is a Kolkata concert!!!!? info please..
@Sudip Sarkar yep,at 3rd November,NH7 Weekender Express.. my heart aching with pain that I can't visit the concert :'(
@Sudip Sarkar yes brother , 2nd nov Guwahati and 3rd nov kolkata. Besides that 3rd nov jari Salminen birthday , their drummer.
[Verse 1]

Fav song on the album
I LOVE the intro!
The beginning sounds like Ultravox - Dancing With Tears In My Eyes
