Poco - Angel Lyrics

Pleasure seeker new love reaper
I've heard tell you're quite
A nighttime keeper
Will you ever find the sun
Maybe never in a ten-day run

Painted faces forgotten bootlaces
Ain't it all the same in the
Brand-new places
So we dance between the lights
Taking a chance to make it right -
Make it right

Na na na na na na - oh oh oh

She's an angel and she loves to
Spread her wings
I'm a stranger here but I love
the song she sings
Heaven knows that I can feel you
And all the ways that you
Come on through
My lady blue

Na na na...

It's a sin they are not in the RHOF. Paul's sound is the best. This song takes you to heaven and back.

  2. B.... ....

    Rock on Poco! Kimie Girl:)

  3. B.... ....

Isn't Paul Cotton just wonderful on his lead guitar and has a voice like no other!! Love Timothy B. Schmidt voice harmony and base guitar are awesome. Love Poco whether certain ones go back and forth to the Eagles. There would be no Eagles without Poco I've come to realize this! Kimie Girl:)

    B.... ....

    Amen! :)

  4. B.... ....

I want to spread my wings and dance with Paul Cotton! And did I say I harmonize beautifully too, I can sing!! Yay! Kimie :)

  5. B.... ....

  7. B.... R....

A friend introduced me to this song a week or two ago and wow I am shocked at how good this is.Perfect vocal performance live and tight musicianship.

  8. K.... ....

Luckily I got to see them do this song live in concert once. It was just great.. I have always done this one in my own acoustic show.
Just recently posted my cover rendition of it on here.

    K.... ....

And what an amazing cover it is, my friend!

  9. s.... e....

What makes a great singer is their instantly recognizable voice.
When it came to the Rock/Country bands of the 70's...TBS is up there with best of them.

  10. T.... R....

na na na na na na na whoa whoa  whoa

    T.... R....

    thats so good

  11. J.... B....

This was track 5 off their live album recorded in November 1974 ( release date April 1976)
written and sang by Paul Cotton.

  12. A.... M....

Angel was my favorite zt this time. Amazing sound

  13. T.... ....

Poco always had great harmonies, especially when George was well. The thing that I always find strange is that Rusty has such a good voice yet chose not to sing, even harmonies, before Tim left.

The only other band who comes close in the harmony stakes are The Ozark Mountain Daredevils.

    T.... ....

youve hard of the daredevils ....cool

    T.... ....

I got to hear Rusty sing those harmonies when they did a three founding members acoustic Poco show in Chattanooga once.. And it was cool that after the show, my son and I got to sit with them and talk for about 30 minutes straight!

    S.... S....

CSNY was always stealing Poco's ideas. Eagles too!

  18. P.... R....

Extremely underrated group.Me and a friend would listen to this so high it felt like we were gonna sail into the sky.Back in early 70s

  19. T.... J....

    Very cool.

  20. P.... R....

Very few people know that George Grantham sang higher than Tim and played drums thats purdy hard.

Very good music, thanks for sharing...

  30. E.... S....

Fell in love with Poco listening to this album in 1976. Been an fan ever since.

  31. s.... ....

Dirty as, I can play all Poco songs up to 1977. I play guitar, dobro, banjo, mandolin, and can do all solos. What country are you in?

  32. J.... h....

The drumming at the end of this always-ALWAYS pisses me off! Slow down buddy!! This song is a KICK ASS THUMPER!! Playing too damn fast :0

  33. J.... N....

Poco has been through several permutations. Started out as Richie Furay's band. When he left after Crazy Eyes, Paul Cotton stepped up as the main songwriter and Tim Schmit as the co-lead vocalist up until Rusty wrote Rose Of Cimarron. I don't think anyone saw the Rusty Young version coming, but he ended up writing and/or singing the hits Crazy Love and Call It Love not to mention a ton of great album tracks. All from a steel guitar/dobro/banjo specialist.

  34. D.... ....

Super great sounding Angel - Poco (LIVE 1976) ! I'm only an amateur guitar player who looking for the real friends, band mates to my band project for get the band plays professional! All the best for everybody! Assa!

  35. p.... ....

Good catch! Well he sure sang it nice!

  36. J.... N....

"Rose" was written by Rusty. Lead vocals Paul and Timmy.

  37. p.... ....

Paul Cotton was such an underrated song writer. It's sad he didn't get more recognition. Bad Weather, Ride The Country, Early Times, Rose of Cimmeron - the list is endless.

    p.... ....

Yeah. All true, except for Rose of Cimarron...written by Rusty Young.

    p.... ....

He still is rockin it. I love his musicianship

  38. D.... ....

na na na na na na na,'clat', whoa oh oh.......just goes on forever in my head, follows me through the day. Joy!

  39. R.... E....

Best track on the Album !

  40. H.... R....
