Dear friends,
I come forward today to talk about the events that took place on Friday, December 2nd, 2016 at The Lady Hampshire in Camperdown. My statement below is not meant to be biased, however, merely shed light on a very one-sided story. Importantly, I am not trying to be involved in a conflict, I just want the truth to be told. So, here it is:
My boyfriend and I were going to the Lady Hampshire to meet some of our friends for drinks at around 10:30 pm, one of these friends included Dylan Frost. We were sitting in the outdoor area when Dylan Frost and my boyfriend went inside the bar to grab drinks. We had only been there for about 45 minutes and had two drinks each, making us sober. I feel this is important to share because I believe the other parties included were not.
I received a call from my boyfriend who said that Dylan and him were leaving, and for me to meet them outside. I could hear silence in the background, indicating that they had already left the bar, when all of a sudden I could hear yelling drunk voices in the background. The phone hung up, and I jumped up to leave out the back door. My boyfriend later told me that him and Dylan did not meet Thelma Plum and her boyfriend 5 minutes prior to this incident, he said he had no clue who they were.
I ran to a scene of four people, Thelma Plum, her boyfriend, my boyfriend, and Dylan. It should be noted that there was a distance between all of them, Dylan was not in any kind of reach of Thelma Plum. They were all screaming at each other, nothing horrible, just the standard drunk yelling, “Fuck you” and such. My boyfriend proceeded to grab Dylan away and tell him to breathe and calm down. They kept telling us to leave so I slowly walked my boyfriend and Dylan up the road. Leaving a gap between them and us. Her boyfriend and her kept yelling things to get a rise out of him. Statements like, “I’m going to make sure you are never on triple j again” and “Your career is going to be over” and Dylan kept yelling back “Fuck You.” And then, her boyfriend started speedily walking towards us with clenched fists and saying, “If you guys don’t leave, I am going to bash him.” I stood in the gap between them and us and yelled, “You told us to leave, that’s what we are doing, so fuck off. That’s enough.” The yelling slowly stopped, and Thelma burst into hysterical tears. I honestly don’t know why, Dylan had never once yelled anything about race, her being a woman, or wanting to fight her. There were no swinging arms, no slurs of any kind, and if anything, her boyfriend was being just as aggressive.
Yes, they did get into the uber and Dylan did run after it, he did not try to get in the vehicle or kick it. He might have spit on the ground, I wasn’t close enough to see but not on the car, because I had ran up to the car to make sure everything was okay.
This is in no way trying to claim Dylan as being innocent. He yelled back at her but there were just a lot of “Fuck You’s” being thrown around. To be honest, a lot of it didn’t make sense from both of them, they were both intoxicated by the sounds of it. She did repeat the statement, “I am going to end your career.” Dylan has a problem with alcohol, but in no way shape or form did race, sexism, or violence occur in this incident. I was scared too, her boyfriend was acting the same way Dylan was, upset and defensive, as anyone would be in a rising situation like this one. Thelma Plum should take some responsibility in this incident, playing the victim is not fair when she was claiming that she was going to end his career and make sure him and his band, Sticky Fingers, will never be played on triple j again, this disgusts me.

Her recent outburst completely overshadows her music and it's very unfortunate. Making disgusting remarks based on emotion just prove the stereotypes against her people to be vaguely accurate. If you want to add your two cents do it with class, intelligence and fact. Otherwise you come off looking uneducated, foul mouthed and trashy. Stop complaining about the past and move forward. Because all this BS is getting you nowhere. Grow up!
