Used in the movie "Always". A movie that gets overlooked because it came out at the same time as "Ghost" which was in the same vain and more popular.

One time I asked my grandma why they were singing about smoke in your eyes. She explained to me that people used to be allowed to smoke in restaurants and in other public places and that the smoke would always get into your eyes. I still remember that conversation. This is a very beautiful song that makes me want to somewhat cry.

My Grandparents song from Johnstown Pa.. the lead violin from the Johnstown orchestra would show up every Christmas eve and play carols on his violin but always ended with this song..he would always cry...so the rest of us didn't feel so alone in our tears....thanks for posting this song..God Bless.

I am now 73 YO. Looking back I have to say MUSIC did more to overcome racial tensions than almost anything. The radio was color blind. Until Elvis showed up , MOST of the music I listened to was by Black folks. How can you HATE someone that has so much to offer?
