I love the self-aware/self-effacing duality to Brian's lyrics - he never lets himself off the hook/takes his brunt of the dysfunction - however veiled it might initially appear, he's always equally as hard on himself (if not moreso) than others... Such a courageous self-excavigator...

It sounds like the chorus is him violently insulting someone, and the verses are him apologizing and trying to cover it up or rationalize it. Either he is the one doing the insulting, or he is writing it towards himself from someone else's point of view. It seems like the song is about a girl, and a partner she is with who is constantly verbally assaulting her and then trying to take it back just so he can do it again.

I think he's talking about himself both in the verse and chorus.

It is the story of a guy that just want to have sex with the girl while she really likes him.
So it is always he saying that he didn’t mean to hurt her but at the same time he is saying that she’s a slackerbitch, a whore, an immature: he is insulting her and telling her that he doesn’t want anything else from her rather than just simple sex.

“Slackerbitch” is, Molko admits, “quite horrible… an exploration into somebody’s misogyny; this man in the song feels very threatened by women, But at the same time, it’s very heartfelt. It’s angry and nasty and insulting and completely politically incorrect. I’m not afraid to say I’ve felt some of those things. It walks a very fine line, and it’s dangerous. I decided that I have to be responsible as the person who wrote those lyrics. I know that it describes a genuine emotion. “Interestingly enough, before it was released I played it to a lot of women, without saying anything, to see if they would construe it as being misogynist. The only people who found it offensive were men, I think the point a lot of people would miss is that you’re not supposed to like the guy in the song. He’s a fool.” [Melody maker 1997]
