My meaning of i could fall is a guy who had been hurt before because he moved too fast and didn't get to know the person very well and now that he found this new girl, he doesn't want to make the same mistake. He also know that this girl had also made his same mistake and he's telling her as a warning that he respect their friendship too much to rush into something that could be love and ruin everything they already have.

Except i waited almost 2 1/2 years i honestly thought she was the one but shit took forever.i've tried my hardest to have her an then she goes out with a guy when she knew i loved her, or so i thought.
