Unfortunately I was pretty disheartened when I saw them live. Two guys relying on loops and pedals doesn't really cut it for this kind of emotional music.

If I could write songs like this, I wouldn't be hanging around with YOU douchebags.

They played this song live at the Casbah earlier this year. Just as good if not better.

This song takes you to a reflective state of mind in which you ponder on the pluses and minuses of life. Then you realize that the point wasn't to win or to lose- but in a nihilistic way, just to be.

funny how that happens isn't it? if I listen to this, I'm vaulted back to a couple of days after it came out, I was living in a barn and there was a hurricane. the wind was blowing ridiculously hard and I thought the roof was going to fly off. I sat there in the dark chain smoking kools, which I hate, but they were free and I was flat fucking broke. and in the background was this song (whole album really, but this is the only song that takes me there) and I was thinking to myself "if I die, at least I'll die to the most beautiful song ever written. it was scary but a little bit nice. I digress....I bet you're wondering why I asked you here today....that's a joke the guy I lived with in the barn used to say all the time. hope this comment finds you all well...

In all fairness it is on an EP.

It's interesting, too, that they play their songs really fast live so this one only takes like 8 or 9 minutes.

Most bands perform songs faster live to conserve time and to squeeze in as many songs as possible. They're usually only allotted 1.5hrs to 2 hrs to perform in a live venue. It also keeps the energy levels up in the crowd.
