this is the only rock song I have heard, ever, that I would give 10 out of 10 for production, 10 out of 10 for musicianship and 10 out of 10 for composition. This is a product of the kind of excellence that I think Bach himself would have been very impressed by.

I don't consider myself a believer anymore, but this album is truly a masterpiece, it reminds me my childhood.

tim othy I wholeheartedly agree. Though sadly, they won’t play this kind of music. The songs of the Christian rock we remember that preached soul convicting messages would be considered too negative by the “positive only” feel good modern Christianity crowd.

from a musicological perspective, I remain convinced that this is the finest rock recording, ever. This scans like a piece from Bach's Mass in B Minor.

Bob Hartman was a master of the rock riff and superb songwriter.If he would have written for the secular market , he would have been a millionaire many times over and NOT have to have a job when not touring.I love the fact that he chose to write for Yeshua.

No Christian band of today hits it like Petra. Metal, grindcore and hard rock with a strong Christian message. Nothing like it out there to this day.

I agree with you they were special but i think they were always lead of God I'm not sure how many quote in quote christian bands are today sadly

I'm pretty close to being an old fart and don't listen to much new music, but Theocracy hits me today just like Petra did back in the day (and still does).

Only flaw in this song is the fade-out at the conclusion. This song needed a well thought out ending. Otherwise it is one of Petra's best.

Great music! Petra's message was always relevant and doctrinally sound.

As long as the time passes by, this music becomes more real.

I wonder how many times this song has reinforced generalized anxiety disorder.

I've actually found that this song helps me vent my anxiety/deal with my anxiety.

I was never sure I would be able to resist illicit drugs, heavy petting that became sexual intercourse, and so on, even with the power of the Holy Spirit. The song was many things, but encouraging was not one of them.

I thought about it more, and I think it just makes me feel like I've fought through a life that is rough (like the song says) and full of danger, and thus that I can get through anything.

This song has stuck in my brain since I first heard it back in 1988. Be aware of where you are stepping.

This was one of my favorite songs when I was a young christian, they have so much deep meaning to their songs. I was praising God to one of Petra's songs blasting when God spoke to me above the music, He said "I love you," audibly, HE IS AWESOME!!! Praise God!
