Peter Murphy, the last of the classic musical poets whose music and voice and lyrics could and do mesh with the contemplative and timeless aesthetes who are , though few, are still among us.

I'd guess that "glancing pierce through writer man" refers to Ernest Hemingway. The lyrics sucked me into watching one of Marlene Dietrich's movies: Witness for the Prosecution (1957). An Agatha Christie masterpiece. Talent is like a gold vein. You keep following it and you keep finding more gold.

I remember this vinyl. Steel here even 30 years after. Bauhaus, Love Rocket's, Murphy, Ash...
