Peter Gabriel Exposure Comments
Personnel:
Peter Gabriel: Vocals, Keyboards
Larry Fast: Synthesizer
Robert Fripp: Frippertronics
Tony Levin: Bass Guitar
Jerry Marotta: Drums, Percussion
This version is good but it’s not in the same league as the original which is the title track from Fripp’s album of the same name.
For the thumbs down I suggest listening to the Baseline and kissing my
An incredibly powerful & brilliant song by Peter Gabriel, here! Love all of his solo stuff & the stuff he did with Genesis, too! An outstanding & original artist.
Better than Fripps version. But Fripp wrote it and lent guitar to this version.
Peter Gabriel song equivalent of John Lennon's I don't want to be a soldier. Although Gabriel had Fripp and Levin
what an amazing comment on your observation. I thumbed it up
I want to cover this song properly
Why would you down vote this? Some people have no taste!
We're not on reddit but I agree! Only an angry slippermen would dislike this
Tony Levin kind of owns this one. Sorry, Robert - you're part is cool but those slinky bass runs always get me.
Great bass line. And Fripping hell. Very strong track.
Just plain otherworldly 😎
Probably one of Gabriel’s best vocal performances, just the guttural sound he has on those longer notes.
i love that funky mood bass
What does the song or title refer to?
The drums are too heavy in the mix. Thanks
No they’re not.
Thanks.

Great song!! :) Had never heard of this album before today - it's really good!
E X P O S U R E
Easy to find. You merely have to know how.
Haven't heard this in about 20 years.
This is the shit.
Yes, Peter Gabriel is great. However, Robert Fripp has the better version.
Bob Romanini I've got that! So badass!!!!
Yeah Terre Roche's voice suits well in this.
@Petri Haapa I think Daryl Hall's version is better than the Terre Roche's one.
@José Ramírez I like both, but surely, Terre Roche's is better, in this instance? Hall is sublime on North Star.
E-X-P-O-S-U-R-E !!!!!!! --------- Space is what I need, it's what I feed on ------------- Outt in the open... SIMPLY GREAT!!!!!!
That fucking bass line!!!
It is impossible to achieve the aim without suffering.
zandola1 Ever so true.
J.G. Bennett
Heavily Fripp-influenced Exposure from Scratch.
Not only influenced, he co-wrote it
I'm over a minute in. Does he never sing???
Exxxx--pooosssss-----uuuuurrrreeee!!!!!
Masterpiece!
Totally brilliant. Only one complaint: it's about twenty minutes too short.
I agree. This could have easily been a 20 minute song.
I really wish
Echoes. Pink Floyd. Dirty bird.
Great bassline grooving at 5/4...!!
I would say this is more 10/8, but I agree with you : Great bassline grooving
20/16 to be sterile
@Prog Rock TONY LEVIN BASS GOD!!!
CHE PALLE DI "........MUSICA"............PURE SHIT...........POOR PETER...........GENESIS DAYS GONE.....................
FRIPPERTRONICS
NO flute. It is your imagination. There is a keyboard.
there's a recorder
Absolutely Amazing -- The afrikan mind of Peter Gabriel
timeless - brilliant production.
Has some ambient no pussyfooting drones in there.
Doesnt get any cooler Ladies and Gentlemen....
space is what I need, it's what feed on, exposure x's5, out in the opeeeeeeeeeeen! PURE FUCKING GENIUS!!! Cheerio!
it is the exposure to radiation that causes evolution to be recreated as what it is now. remember?
Because radio-active mutations are really evolutionary developments.
dark !!!!!
Takes me back... nice. Great headphone song....
Scary one at that :)
Awesome! I love Peter Gabriel so much! i can't stop listening to this song!
SEX. Pure and simple SEX in this song.
@pgabrielfreak its a strip tease song
Just close your eyes and imagine Robert Fripp engaging in sexual intercourse.
@***** Both having sex with each other.
"its a strip tease song" - Fripptease even
Outstanding
great stuff! thanks!!!
wth, a song that's on two different people's albums... that's odd.
Also I agree with the person that said I think I hear a flute in the background too
it's a recorder
I always thought this stood out from the rest of the album - didn't realise it was essentially a Robert Fripp track. The drums have something of the gated big drum sound from a few years later as well.
Excellent song...
du PETER GABRIEL à l'état pur !!! que de bons souvenirs sur cette musique...
It's a synth. actually, but it does sound vaguely flutey. A wonderful piece of music from an equally wonderful album. Cheers!
It's not a synth, either. It's Fripp;s guitar put through his patented Frippertronics effects using tape loops, etc.
@BlueEyes 1970 I think they're referring to the recorder part rather than the Frippertronics
i love it
Curiously in Fripp's verision the bass is barely hearable and here the guitar chords are below the bass and drums. Also, is Gabriel playing a flute in this track or is my imagination?
according to the liner notes it's a recorder
In addition to producing the album, Fripp played on many of the pieces; he shines particularly brightly in the angular electric guitar solo on "White Shadow" and in the cascading, foreboding Frippertronics of "Exposure," a song he co-wrote with Gabriel.
