Peter Cetera - Only Love Knows Why Lyrics
One more sad tomorrow
And I am not very good at hiding my sorrow
It's not the same without you
So alone and so afraid
I thought we had it made
What about us, what about the way
We were so in love
When we were together
I thought you'd never leave
Now I know this time you're gone forever
[Chorus:]
Only love can break your heart
Fill you with desire
And tear you all apart
Only love knows why
One more night without you
I'm just trying to pretend
That you're coming back again
I know I never meant to doubt you
Oh no, we were young and we were free
Now I can't believe this has happened to me
What about us
What about the way
We were so in love
When we were together
[Chorus]
It's gonna be a long hard road without you
And there's one thing you should know
Tell me who will I turn to
When I get in trouble
Ooh really don't want you to go
Tell me who can I turn to
When I get in trouble
Baby please don't leave me
Can't you see, you won't believe me
[Chorus]

Peter Cetera Only Love Knows Why Comments
one of my favorite song of peter cetera since my HS Days
I fully remembered this song back in 1987 when I still had my full time girlfriend and practically my very first love. She taught me everything that will make any woman be happy in bed but she broke my heart later on the following year. I decided to leave her without telling her and immigrated here in America. That was 32 years ago and I just wish that she’s happy with a new love and hopefully married with her own children. Ahhhhh memories!!!
These beautiful songs always get me complaining about songs made in our times
A great last song to a great album
I had this album, it was the last lp I bought after that it was all cassettes and cd's
A lot of elements in this song borrowed from "We Can Last Forever".
Such a beautiful voice!

Only Love... Peter's voice is Brilliant here... Thank you
Love it
Eu estou aqui pena que tu não se lembra mais de mim.
Jay broke up with me in 1986/1987- I listened to this song on my tape deck OVER and OVER. I had a bright yellow mustang. I was driving home from work one November and my car was hit by a train. Jay thought I was trying to commit suicide. I told him even if I was (which I wasn't), I never would have put my beautiful car in danger. I loved that guy and I loved that car.
Tony Walsh I so agree totally agree with you Peter was the magic in Chicago .
yeah quite simply A amazing voice . I know why people want him to do a reunion tour with Chicago I would love to hear him do the the ballads from those days too . other then the Ballads I would prefer to see peter in Concert
1:10 ...after all that we've been through, i will make it up to you... <--ripped off his own song, good job
I bought the tape of this album from a charity shop when I was at leek college
Being 13 years old and having a crush on your bullies sister made 1986 an awkward time in my life. At least I had Peter Cetera to sing me to sleep.
I forgot how great this song is, and how great he is. He made Chicago!!
Love this song... Today's songs are rotten.
No voice like Peter Cetera.
Peter Flint Agreed, brother.
U GOT THAT RIGHT. HE IS UNSUNG! DESERVES TO BE HONORED! KARATE KID IS WHEN I GOT MY FIRST TASTE!!!! WHERE IS HE??
One of the best singers ever

Great Album. If not the best I have buy. Great memories. Thank you for posting.
very nice
this what reality in me...
I feel deeply in my heart...
This is my favorite song from this album.
Mine, as well, & I think it is a CRIME that Warner Bros. Records did not release it as a single!!!!
+landyachtfan79 Agreed. This is perhaps the best of Peter Cetera.
peter cetera was the magic behind chicago , not taking any thing from all the rest of the band but cetera and chicago go hand in hand just like day and night , wish they could do a charity gig together what an audience they would get .
Peter Cetera wasn't left Chicago for a solo career. He was forced out. At first, this song, among others should have been in Chicago 18. After extensive tour of Chicago 17, Cetera asked for a temporary break so he can do his own thing and spend time with the family. The band and the management refused and booked antoher tour and album sessions. They refused for a settlement like Phil Collins and Genesis. That's why he felt hurt and left the band.If they weren't insisted,Cetera was still in Chicago
LPで持ってます、良いアルバムですよね。
Actually, it's his 2nd solo album. He had a self-titled debut in 1981.
An Up beat emotional ballad song from Peter Cetera's debut Album "Solitude".
Great song! Also check out "Glory of Love" on this same album. Both are beautiful songs.
懐かしいですね。ピーター・セテラ、最高ですね!
