Roger Daltry sounds exactly like Pete Townsend if Pete had better range. And a bass player who established the rhythm that always eluded the guitarist.

The orchestra especially the violin adds an extra depth to this melancholic rendition of pain...

Yeah it is a good show. Watching the season finale right now.

The only time I felt like standing up and clapping with my headphones on in a room, in a house full of other people who actually had stuff to do, was when I listened to this original version of this song. At this exact moment, I realized that some folk (even older than me), used to say that music used to sound good, and fuck me sideways, they were right! Limp Bitzkit or Fred Durst has nothing on this. It was already a challenge that could not be defeated from the start.

His renditions of HIS own songs which he wrote for the who are extraordinary, he's a genius.

Apart from anything else, I reckon his voice is pretty good as well. Always a fan of The Who.

I thought this was Pete's thinly veiled "coming out" anthem.  It certainly struck me that way  when it was first released.

I think what he means is that this version should be the ´real´ version of the song. So he thinks its better than ´The Who´ version. Although the way it was put it can easily be confused.
