i am italian , i am a music producer and i naturally grew up listening to this song . It is a song from Gino Paoli , a wonderful piece of music . I like this cover , although quite far from the original : Lately we have an advertisement on tv for a brand of mineral water and there is a new version in english of the same song which is amazing to me . i am getting crazy trying to find it but there is no trace of it yet on main music platforms. The only thing i know is that is produced by The Log

FUNNY ! That is how I came upon the song and then found out it had been the theme in other movies ( 3) and , besides being performed by its composer GINO PAOLI more than a dozzen other great international singers sang it.. LOVE this song both in English & Italian. It is BEAUTIFUL.

I'd forgotten that..Probably because, except for the beginning, the movie stunk. My mind likes this song too well to have a turkey like that ruin it for me. I first heard the song in the movie 'Flight Of The Phoenix '.

Connie was chosen to sing this song in one of the key scenes in the 1965 movie "The Flight of the Phoenix," a movie starring Jimmy Stewart and an all star cast. Connie, an MGM recording star, was selected by Paramount Pictures to do the honors on this song for the movie. And she even receives recognition in the opening credits of the movie.
