Paul Revere & The Raiders - Just Like Me Lyrics

It's just like me
To say to you
Love me do
And I'll be true

And what I'd like
For you to say
Is you'll come home
To me each day

Now you'll be my girl
That's what I want
Just you sweet girl
And not a front

It's just like me
To feel so blue
And fall so much
In love with you

It's just like me
It's just like me
I'm just your fool
That's all I'll be

But it's just like you
To say goodbye
And leave me all
Alone to cry, waaa

It's just like me
To say to you
Love me do
And I'll be true

And what I'd like
For you to say
Is that you'll love me
Here each day

It's just like me
It's just like me
I'm your fool
That's how I'll be

But it's just like you
To say goodbye
And leave me alone
Alone to cry

It's just like me
It's just like me...

Paul Revere & The Raiders Just Like Me Comments
  1. P.... J....

    Saw them June 12, 1967. I was 13.

  2. B.... P....

The Raiders! I love their outfits

  3. j.... m....

And the fender jazzmasters and jaguars come o

  4. h.... v....

The song sounds better today then it did in the day. REMARKABLE!

  5. S.... P....

    I still want him..lol

  6. W.... K....

    Damn song is sexxxy

  7. a.... ....

Paul Revere and the Raiders were beginning to gain a big following on the West Coast at the start of 1965 when they were spotted by Dick Clark, who was looking for a "house band" to be regulars on a musical-variety TV series he was about to launch called "Where The Action is" (which featured rock acts singing their hits on-location at outdoor places, mostly but not entirely, in the Los Angeles area).

Clark hired the group, and by the Fall of 1965 ("Action" premiere at the end of June), they began to enjoy a string of hits that ran several years.

  8. S.... M....

Boy does this bring back the memories....then that GD 'Nam crap happened and screwed it all up.

  9. J.... D....

Punk rock when it came in campy Revolutionary War costumes...

  10. I.... D....

Killer organ, Mark's vocals, what's not to love.

  11. S.... L....

    Love it...

  12. r.... t....

Had this album and one of the first songs I learned to play. Hey, it's just like me.

  13. B.... R....

One more great song from a band from the 60s.Rock On

  14. a.... ....

Saw them at the Hampton Beach Casino in NH in August of 1967. Even up to today, it was the most fun I ever had in 2 hours with my clothes on.

  15. n.... ....

Never gets old. Such great music pulling us out of the awful 50's.

  16. C.... ....

Great tune. Seems really advanced for 1965

  17. G.... C....

This was before my time, but this is good stuff.....

  18. B.... ....

Gotta say that turntable is way fancier than the dimestore econobox I played this album on. Still love it though! The line up of Paul, Mark, Drake, Phil, Smitty and Jim belongs in the Hall of Fame! But I guess they were too "commercial" for the auteurs who vote. Guys, seriously, if it wasn't somewhat commercial, it would never get played.

  19. X.... ....

Mike does it all... better than Kasey

    X.... ....

    Thanks!

  20. B.... ....

Their sound to me was like a U.S. version of The Dave Clark 5

  21. j.... m....

And the jazzmsters and jaguars come out

  22. c.... n....

the dorks would be more apt . when i was a child many bands and entertainers had to have a gimmick to get exposure and airplay because you had no internet back then . this band dressed like a combination of 18th century revolutionaries and fairy queens . imho Kiss takes "the ( stale ) cake" for bands with a gimmick and little talent

  23. D.... B....

I'am still Listening and rock with Paul Revere and The Raiders in 2019✌️❤️🤟

  24. t.... w....

    The best rocking band ever!

  25. j.... W....

2019 and still rockin to this

  26. d.... ....

    1965. It was good.

  27. r.... h....

    Monster song

  28. J.... J....

    Great band & song! 🔥

  29. D.... S....

PR&TR...a true one-of-a-kind AWESOME band who's in my 'Rock-N-Roll' Hall of Fame!!!

  30. R.... S....

Thanks to Quentin Tarantino for bringing attention back to this great group!

  31. R.... K....

Quit worrying about the hall.Who cares? We know rock better than those boneheads. The Raiders were awesome.

  32. D.... k....

Ten years later they would have been defined as punk-rock.

  33. R.... W....

God i was lucky to be 16 back then

  34. P.... D....

It’s really a shame Paul and Mark were so homely.

  35. C.... K....

I have the album that the song comes from. Thanks for sharing the video it brings back memories for me when i was a teenage girl in the mid sixties.

  36. d.... ....

I love Pat  Benatar, but the Raiders   mopped the floor with her on this one.Same thing with You  Better Run  and the Young Rascals

  37. t.... m....

You know i often wonder why the Beatles were more popular than alot of other groups?

  38. J.... R....

I imagine Don Martin sound effects as Uncle Paul and Drake hit that opening chord: "SPONG!!!!!"

  39. C.... G....

Now THIS is The Raiders I loved..not the joke Paul turned them into years later.

  40. p.... a....

If these guys did not make it to the hall of fame of rock and roll there is a conspiracy.

  41. L.... C....

    great jingle.

  42. g.... g....

    WIXY 1260 !

  43. D.... J....

The costumes were dumb but this is a good song!

  44. T.... M....

One of my first albums around 1967!

  45. J.... A....

    S%%Ool
    Pseudo

  46. J.... C....

8 track in my 68 GTO

  47. G.... S....

Anyone else notice how similar the guitar solo is to the one on Louie Louie by the Kingsmen? An "HOMAGE" I guess?

  48. R.... M....

This bass line and other bass lines for other Paul Revere And The Raiders, was mastered in the home of their producer Terry Melcher during these heady days of this group. The reason I point out this particular point about the bass line being worked on at Melcher's house, is that the house would in only a few short years ('69), be the infamous site of the slaughter by Charles Manson's followers, on that hot August night in '69. RIP all those that perished that night (5).

  49. p.... ....

By the time I saw The Raiders, they were playing state fairs, in the earlier 2000s. But they played their material like they were all still current hits - with gusto and great showmanship. Paul was simply an awesome performer!

  50. B.... P....

A great group. Love their music forever ❤.

  51. t.... ....

Also recorded by Pat Benatar, so I put both in my Benatar playlist. Thanks for the upload!

  52. J.... D....

Bought this LP "Just Like Us" in the Summer of '65 (I was 12) mainly for the song "Steppin' Out" and "Just Like Me"...it had some great covers on the other tracks...like James Brown's "Outta Sight" and Marvin Gaye's "I'll Be Doggone"

  53. M.... Y....

For a bleak moment in 1965 they were on top of the world, against a lot of huge talent. Get them in the rock hall of fame.

  54. P.... M....

Whatever happened to decent music like this? Grew up in the 60's and a 57 Model here. Some of the 1st tunes I picked up on the Guitar. At 61, I still play em.

  55. J.... L....

The Raiders Rocked, Baddest Guitar Riff and Solo, On The Planet!!!!!

  56. j.... m....

And the Fender Jaguars and Stratocaster come out......Thank you Leo Fender

  57. G.... R....

    🌈😎🌈

  58. W.... O....

Just like me to be a fool, And let you fall out of my hands

  59. A.... P....

    Great song.

  60. .... ....

    Proto pop punk !

  61. R.... F....

Great music, great memories with these awesome songs and bands of the 60's..

  62. R.... A....

    Their best. Period.

  63. J.... W....

This is one kick ass album!

  64. D.... B....

Dayum, I miss Top 40 AM radio from the 50's and 60's: KTSA San Antonio; WLS Chicago; KILT Houston; WTIX New Orleans.

  65. c.... ....

    These guys were great

  66. D.... L....

Cool, Cleveland Rocks. Reminds me of my home town, WLS, Windy City

  67. j.... m....

Fender Jaguar sounds sooooo cool...Thank you Leo Fender...

  68. c.... ....

The riff is reconstituted “I Need You”. Still, it’s cool.

  69. J.... V....

6 words: Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

  70. C.... L....

Wasn’t that Drake Levin on lead guitar on this somg

  71. B.... D....

Mark Lindsay's vocals (especially that soul scream) are up there with the best of the 60's garage band vocalists.

  72. s.... ....

Cleveland my hometown! We have a little North East Attitude!

  73. j.... ....

One wonders where this band might have gone if they had ditched the costumes and the Where the Action Is shtick and played as serious musicians. Unlike the Monkees, they were serious musicians well honed in their craft. They eventually did but the scene had pretty much passed them by in the late 60's early 70's.

  74. r.... s....

don't cremate me yet i'm not dead just stupid

  75. R.... M....

By the way, this killer bass was practiced (fact) extensively at the Raider's producer's, Terry Melcher, residence, which as we all know..........

    R.... M....

REMMY MAFIA Mark was living at the residence right before you know...
    Shudder

    R.... M....

Joe Osborn on the bass, another example of elegant yet driving simplicity. R. I. P. Dad

  76. W.... D....

It was great to hear WIXY's intro jingle again...loved the 1260!

  77. j.... s....

am curious. I know that the Raiders used members of the Wrecking Crew on some of their studio songs, wonder if this is one of them. love them drums

    j.... s....

    Prolly so.....

    j.... s....

well I found out that no they used just themselves for most of their records until way later on

  78. H.... C....

    “Where the action is!!”

  79. e.... b....

    Awesome

  80. c.... t....

How does a person dislike this song....incredible.

  81. s.... ....

Thank God I was raised on the great music that came before rap.

  82. r.... s....

Even back then? Radio would not play real music>> ..we had to listen to hermans crap same as Justin beiber and KaTie play on today?..FAKE MUSIC*

    r.... s....

+randall Still better than today's crap!

  83. J.... D....

Right up there with the best R&B flavored, rough cutting, records (Kinks, Them, Animals) coming out of England in 1965. Studio magic! It helps if the likes of Hal Blaine and Leon Russell get it over the finish line. Terry Melcher produced some great records

  84. R.... E....

Good lord I am so lucky we chased these over hyped DJ's out of California back in the 60's.

  85. K.... H....

This is so good. Loved Mark Lindsay so much 'cause he's so tall! Well, and he had a great voice!

  86. I.... 9....

There's no two ways about it-------60s music just KICKED ASS !!!! Nonstop hits for 10 years! The birth of the Beatles and then we never turned off the radio! This group did not get the recognition it deserved, so thanks guys! You were awesome.

  87. R.... H....

I have this album I love partner in the Raiders Mark Lindsay all right

  88. D.... M....

I grew up on WIXY 1260! 'Here's a WIXY Triple Play...three together...okay!' That was when AM radio was still tops! Thanks for posting the jingle!!! AND the song!!!

  89. D.... M....

I was SO IN LOVE WITH MARK.I MEAN ,JUST LOOK AT HIM BACK THEN! OMG!!!! AND, a damn good singer
    Still is. You ROCK,MARK!

  90. r.... s....

    HE.L YEAH!

  91. J.... P....

    Such a good song.

  92. S.... ....

    I'm A Dancin' Fool

  93. D.... A....

There is so much muscle in this song!  Kinda like a GTO!  Hey wait!  They did do a commercial for the GTO!  Now it all makes sense!

  94. S.... S....

What is the video where they are in a bowling alley, dodging bowling balls?

  95. n.... ....

Mark Lindsay had the best voice in R&R History!  (IMHO)

  96. L.... D....

    songs are static

  97. S.... n....

Rock & Roll HOF is totally irrelevant - these guys really rocked!

  98. N.... ....

Seems like they were on American Bandstand every other week...still my favorite Raider song..makes me wanna dance until I drop dead.

  99. A.... C....

    Love this.
