Patsy Cline - Love Letters In The Sand Lyrics

On a day like today
We pass the time away
Writing love letters in the sand

How you laughed when I cried
Each time I saw the tide
Take our love letters from the sand

You made a vow that you
Would always be true
But somehow, that vow
Meant nothin' to you

Now my poor heart just aches
With ev'ry wave that breaks
Over love letters in the sand

You made a vow that you
Would always be true
But somehow, that vow
Meant nothing to you

Now my poor heart just aches
With ev'ry wave that breaks
Over love letters in the sand...

  3. P.... H....

At 2:00, in the photo of Patsy on stage in front of a band, there is a young girl on peddle steel guitar. I believe that's Barbara Mandrell, who toured with Patsy when she was just 11 years old.

  4. D.... B....

When I was five years old I was at the dewdrop in Winchester Virginia with my aunt and my mother my brothers and Patsy saw me dancing to her son when she walks in to do drop in and say she dance with me and then she asked me to come over us and our lab and she won over I could she could take me home my mother said no but I’ve always loved penalty since I was little kid I was there when she got killed so far

    Love Pat Boone 's version
    but sorry PAT
PATSY BEATS IT BY A LOT.

  7. I.... L....

    Je l'aime ma patsy

  8. G.... M....

I'm sure that Pat very much approves of Patsy's recording.  Funny that we never hear this recording.  We all were stunned and were hurting to hear of Patsy's death.  Everything just kind of went quiet.  '64 was the year I graduated high school.  Just surprised I haven't heard this until today.  She never sang a bad one.

  9. N.... J....

OMG, very gifted woman, and a lilt in her voice that makes you cry, tastes like honey, thanks pats, I love you

  10. G.... M....

Didn't remember that Patsy recorded one of Pat Boone's song.  Did a super job as always. It was Pat's song but Patsy did a darn good job of at least getting a piece of it.

  11. A.... C....

    Beatifull.

  12. R.... S....

I'm 34.. she's my favourite.. just feel her deep expressive voice

  13. D.... H....

    Mac Wiseman all the WAY......!

  14. t.... m....

Right on Buck Willis. No female singer is better. So sad that we lost her way too soon.

  15. N.... T....

    Love Patsy Cline's songs💜

  16. B.... W....

The best female singer of all time Why because i said so !

    B.... W....

Well sir! Who am I to argue with this statement. Pure a voice as ever I heard.

    B.... W....

I agree ABSOLUTELY the best female singer of all time Loretta Lynn would tell you the same thing.

    B.... W....

Your a wise man You know what your talking about.

    B.... W....

Voice of an absolute Angel 💚

    B.... W....

That's good enough for me sir

  17. B.... ....

Sorry Pat (Boone).... move over, cause Patsy (Cline) is taking over. (And Pat ain't no Patsy.)

  18. O.... ....

Why do I get the idea that she is singing only to me?   She has a way of doing that.

  19. J.... B....

The beautiful voice of a true singer in every way. Her voice and style reaches my heart.... Thank you Patsy Cline.

  20. c.... s....

my mama listened to her alot when i was growing up, love her, love her, love her, even have a album my ma gave me still in the plastic : )

  21. B.... .....

She sings beautiful! love to listen to her. Interesting how Patsy Cline was so dark, her facial features , teeth and hair seem to be Hispanic or Native. I wonder what her ancestry was? I notice no-one comments but its clear she is half Caucasian maybe 1/4. No offense I'm just curious

  22. L.... &....

I loved Patsy Cline when I was younger love her and miss her more even now.

  23. J.... K....

Ez a dal..... Patsy legszebb dalai közé tartozik. Csodálatos.

  24. k.... n....

So funny hearing this song jus now bc I remember my mama taught me this song . Every summer we used to go see my stepdad an I would always sing him a song I had learned an I jus now remember singing him this song Love Letters in the Sand . Oh how I Love her Voice

  25. t.... m....

No female singer has come even close to Patsy's perfection. Lee Ann Rimes is close but Patsy  is still the best!!

  26. J.... G....

I prefer Patsy's version of this song over Pat Boones, I grew up with Pat's version and really love it but when I heard Patsy do it I forgot all about Pat.

    J.... G....

    Awww.... Pat and Patsy. Cute
Edit: yeah I agree and was totally paying attention the first time I read that.

  27. J.... G....

This song was released on April 27th, 1964 making it recorded probably at her last session on Feb. 7, 1963. Patsy died on March 5th, 1963 in a plane crash in Camden, Tenn.

    J.... G....

+James Greenfield Jim in 1931, I was seven years old, and my brothers came home from a country dance signing Love letters, who started it?

    J.... G....

It may have been Gene Austin.

    J.... G....

    I was 3, Am 67 Tomorrow!

    J.... G....

    @ Will. I believe you meant 57.

  28. J.... H....

    WONDERFUL!

  29. E.... H....

Never knew she sang this I knew that Pat Boone did but not Patsy. Beautiful arrangement.

  30. D.... P....

MY GREAT GRANDFATHER WROTE THIS SONG IN LIVERPOOL BUT SOLD IT IN 1931 TO A GUY IN THE PUB FOR 5 SHILLINGS

    D.... P....

This was written by American J. Fred Coots in 1931.  He never left the states.

  31. b.... w....

I never heard a "Patsy" song that I thought was anything but belonging to her.  Even dog songs came to life with her, and ones like this just had her name on it. I guess I'm a hopeless Patsy fan, can't change, don't want to, been that way over 50 years.

  32. C.... J....

How can anyone even compare Pat Boone to the great Patsy Cline?

  33. M.... L....

great singer in need of her records

  34. M.... M....

As a fellow Virginian, I love Patsy to death... But I have to say I much prefer Pat Boone's version. He sang it more relaxed with just enough feeling, but she had the tendency to over emote it on some songs (not all).

  35. j.... p....

très bien cette chanteuse dommage qu'elle soit decèder si jeune bravo patsy

    j.... p....

    Ce' tres vrai

  36. s.... ....

Fifty years ago today 5 February 1963

  37. S.... ....

Patsy could sing the scale and make it sound beautiful, but I don't think this is all that good. Maybe that's why it wasn't released initially. Very much a formula cover. Perfectly executed but not inspired. No offense intended to Patsy or her fans.

  38. B.... C....

    Anybody know the recording date?

  39. D.... T....

Okay, Pat Boone did a great job on this song, but Patsy's version is my favorite. He voice brought more passion to the words.

  40. j.... ....

    Beautiful version!!!

  41. t.... k....

    thank u
