I came home from a forestry contract up on the Alaska highway, minus 50 most days, nine hours drive north of home...made it home every 2 weeks and at the end of it all, I walked in the door and my wife was lying on the couch. She said "I want a divorce." I said, "You got it." Funny, how at that moment, was just when I needed her most. But, she left me. I guess that was the toughest moment of my life. I guess the Lord was looking ahead, because He gave me 2 visions of him just a little time before that.


After my breakup, I was suicidal for a while, couldn't understand where I'd gone wrong, how my love had failed, and what the heck to do then. But He said he'd storm the gates of hell for me. Nothing can snatch me from his hand. I am a branch and He is the vine, He'll never abandon or forsake me. Rivers of living water are to flow through me as long as I'm in Him and He's in me. I reckon it's a mistake to put all of your love into one human being, but not into Jesus. He won't let you down. But people? They let you down just when you needed them most.
