My Dying Bride, and Cradle of Filth are of course favorites of mine (UK death/gothic metal bands) ' Paradise Lost' is also an amazing band from this genre out of U.K.  Nick Holmes is IMHO one of the best death metal vocalists ever. 'BLOOD AND CHAOS' is just as cool as 'HALLOWED LAND'. (my all time favorite Paradise Lost song)

Just 8 songs on the jewel case edition of medusa - that is not that much. But quality speaks for itself.

They actually lied to us about this album, they said it would be something like "sheer northern misery", but this doesn't describe this at all. This song in particular is just... happy. Kinda rockn'n'roll-vibe heavy metal/doom with low tuned guitar and harsh vocals. I can't hear any "misery" here. I heard misery in a few songs on Tragic Idol, Plague Within, Draconian Times and especially on Faith Divides Us... , but not here. However, the album is very good, a surprise for me, because I didn't like their first 3 albums along with Beneath Broken Earth, but the point is that - as I said - they lied. All those songs from Medusa are very catchy, they could be released on their synthrock albums, just change vocals and rearrange instrumentals. So I wouldn't agree that they returned to their roots, this doesn't sound like their early years, not at all.
