Pantera - I Am The Night Lyrics
I am the lightning
and the storm
all hell broke loose
on the night I was born
a child of fire
look to the east
and you'll see hence I came
Might throw you into the darkness
or save you by the light
of the moon and stars
ever shining
celestial bodies burning bright
burning bright
I, I AM THE NIGHT
I am the terror
the beast at large
heed my warning
sound the alarm
an endless shadow
for daylight you pray
lock your doors
but you cannot get away
Tender angels of mercy
how they run from my sight
eclipsed into darkness
searching only for the light
for the light
for the light
I, I AM THE NIGHT
I, I AM THE NIGHT

Polyvagal Theory - NARM
This is the album where they decided to stop being Def Leppard and start being Judas Priest
Damn.That solo kicks ass.
I wonder if this is a hard Riff to play sounds like it would be hard to play
80s pantera riffs have lot more notes than 90s .
The next album have some crazy shit .

Judastera
The first 15 seconds were the best 15 seconds of my life
Dimebag even in his beginning is better then most of the 'hip shit' of today.Take a note from one of the best guitarists to grace the stage.Keep it heavy fuckers!
I Definitely hear MERCIFUL FATE IN THESE TRACKS.DIME AND VINNY ARE PUTTING THAT WORK IN ...ITS DEFINITELY BETTER THAN GLAM.THOSE BANDS ONLY HAD A LITTLE HOOK AND 2 MINS LATER IT WAS OVER.THESE SONGS HAVE WAY MORE DISTANCECTO THEM AND DIME IS AWESOME
Entonces también sonaban so good.
OH YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Man what if this was in samurai x
WAY better than later Pantera.
THIS FUCKIN RULES !!
90s and early 00s pantera is muuuuuch better!!!!!!!!
Pantera wasnt shit until the stole the sound of exhorder...
Too bad Exhorder sucked and couldn't figure out the magic ingredients for success. Lol you jealous tool.
Dime and Vinnie.......RIP. They're raising hell in heaven.
Rex Brown's autobiography brought me here. Great book and explains a lot of stuff that I did not even know about Pantera, being a fan since they busted wide open with cowboys from hell.
I just got it last week. I finished it in two days lol. Such a good read. It confirmed everything I thought about Vinnie being a total douche. Having met him a few times, I already had a good idea. But that book confirmed it.
Boofer T. Washington Vinnie? Really? If that’s true, I’d be surprised. Phil on the other hand....
I met Vinnie backstage when Hellyeah and In flames were on tour. I won a guitar signed by both bands. I got to tell him that his bro was my hero and how much I love his music. Super cool guy. Gave me beer and a shot of crown. RIP Vinnie Paul.
I gave him a lap dance!
@Girls Of Rock thats cool
@Girls Of Rock give me one
Fuck this is so badass
4:13 that was close to the CFH outro riff damn
si PanterA se hubiese quedado en Glam metal desaparecia sin ser reconocida ni en Estados Unidos
Damn the main riff sounds like Slayer! And the song reminds me of a Maiden / Dio mix. People can criticize 80s Pantera but this is a league above Poison and Ratt and the like.
This is what an unoriginal band sounds like.
@FilthyMcDumpin'Clips clown
@FilthyMcDumpin'Clips Pantera was never very original in my opinion. The post Cowboys From Hell was probably influenced by Metallica and Exhorder among others. But the way they mixed it together and the energy it bring up is what makes this band timeless. That's why I always come back to them.
I liked Ratt's debut EP and Out of the Cellar. Sure, early Pantera were a sight heavier than your examples, but their lyrics were considerably more insipid. This is coming from a fan of the Terry Glaze period, though, admittedly, I was a 16 year old kid in Longview, TX, happy to be one of the few who had the albums of a local band heard on national radio (Metal Shop), a band I knew were going to be big. What I didn't know was they had only to ditch Terry to do so.
álbum 1985 Love you pantera
we love you too hun^^
This song blew my mind when I first heard it in 85'.....such a kick ass riff!!!!! Still sounds bloody great.\m/
My go-to fap song
Mickey Deez u fap to metal?
😂😂😂😂😂
This comment killed my Vinnie death depression! !!! Thank you so much
@Matthew Kennedy You DON'T fap to metal?
Why does this sound like the Doom theme song sped up?
Brandon Stevens because the creators of doom used all kinds of metal songs for their game music as a sorta tribute as they were metal heads
Id Software is located in Dallas, so you may be on to something.
e1m1 is the riff from no remorse actually
EXELENTE CANCION DE PANTERA,SE OYE LA INFLUENCIA DE JUDAS PRIEST,ESTO ES POWER METAL.
Glam metal*
Man all these bands are just ripping off Judas Priest.
+JayTyrus Into the Mirror Black is my fav
+JustAMetalHead only on the 437th watching of that episode 10+ years after it aired did I even notice he had his headphones on still with some priest blaring gahaf
+JustAMetalHead ...that was the style that was popular ...remember this is mid 80's.....Dime was like 14
Dime was 19 lmao
@JayTyrus Painkiller is a processing matured exploding from the founding complicated pieces and Proto thrash stuff they Did in Sin after sin and Stained class , and Songs like Rapid fire , screaming for vengeance , then the other Step of sci fi violence , Updating that side with a more schreddy approach , violence , speed on Defenders of the faith ..
The more neo classical sweep of Turbo developped on a Last step on a more Modern and Harder edge already in Ram it down , transitional stage then Painkiller in a definitive form transitiong in a new context and level mr Racer X behind the kit .
Updating even more the agression ..
Nothing to do by ripping off Sanctuary
This pre painkiller was on songs of Ram it down , which was the same year even before considering it was attempted to be the balls out LP on the original ideas of Twins Turbo (1986)..
Pura puta adrenalina!!!!.... I am the Nigth
Que buena rola
It's this album mainly that makes me wonder why they turned into a vulgar display of metal. And why anybody listens to anything they did after Cowboys from Hell.
@Deli Cheese more people agree with other guy. So, you're the one who is wrong in this thread. Numbers don't lie.
Phil sounds like fucking ass, shitty death metal. 80s pantera is where it's at.
+Celio19891
Vulgar Display of Power is one of the worst "metal" albums ever created, but thanks for outing yourself as an inbred meathead.
+Boofer T. WashingtonAppeal to the crowd: classic fallacy.
If you know all the records , i am the night was the turning point into the developpement of the next 3 albums .
Didn't know Judas Priest went by the name "Pantera"
@Deli Cheese Rapid fire
The verses melodies are direct from rapid fire
@paul abel they elvolved logically .
Even terry glaze that the later direction was in fact already taking on I am the night
Titler track , Vallalah , and down bellow , also right on the edge and Ownward we rock riffs and drums are indicative of this
As out for blood, Project in the jungle , and Killers were .
Project was heavier than metal magic , but i am the night was heavier than both , then phil came out and Power metal was heavier , then CFH and so on..
It didnt happened in 1990 , they had that direction already going on.
And metal forces interviews from 1985/1986 already claimed the heavier , and heavier direction.
As well than 1988 Kerrang .
They werent as unknown than 90s grunge or media said since
I have even a Japanese review from 1984 .
@MTNTXii they never were glam .
Overkill and Loudness looked way glammer in their early days than Pantera ever did
metalheadoldschol Depends what you think glam is. Imo if a band has the look of glam, has at least a power ballad or two in an album, and the rest sounds like heavy metal, then I would personally say that they are glam (for that album at least). The term hair metal I like more but eh.
If you're talking about the cartoony version of glam then yeah they never went that far. You can't deny they had a ton of glam elements though, the song "forever tonight" is one of their most glamy songs (and probably my favorite from any Pantera album).
But again most people have different ideas of what glam is. You can call it 80s metal or hair metal or whatever but imo it's easier to call any of that shit glam since most peeps do, even if Pantera was mostly heavy metal.
Deli Cheese Lmfao yeah, Vulgar Display was embarrassing—as opposed to all of the great musical work *you’ve* done over the years. Sit the fuck down and shut the fuck up.
Beautiful!
While people talk about copyright law as if content creators will starve if people rip them off without paying their dues, I was a fan of this song before I ever heard it thanks to the first mission in Doom.
Doom even ripped off so much metal at once that any one level might contain bits of 5 different songs in its composition. It only made me enjoy the source material rather than potentially dismissing it as fast angry noise.
+Wyatt Alan They didn't rip off, they knew what song they were copying off of and wanted to make it into a video game soundtrack.
Ultra Vortek for Atari Jaguar has better metal music than Doom.
90's pantera is way better, but this is still really good
yea i agree, 90s and early 00s pantera is muuuuuch better!!!!
Phil is shit. They became shitty death and doom metal with him.
Colton LaJeunesse 90s sucks, 88 was the best, they had Phil but were not nu/groove metal yet
I can appreciate some 90s Pantera songs but for the most part they make some of the most boring songs I've ever heard. Not gonna lie about how significant they were to the metal genre though.
Cfh was composed between 86 and 89 , played in 1988 almost at 80% live
Technically this is 80s alalbum in 1990
Thumbs up if you're here because of Batman.
batman?
This is a fuckin kick ass riff!!!!!
i love anthrax, slayer, metallica and pantera in the 80s! R.I.P dimebag
What does Trump have to do with any of this?
Because, after Pantera, Phil bummed around NOLA for a while with nowhere to spread his bullshit and racism, so he grew a combover and got elected the 45th president of the free world.
yesssss
This song is so classic metal. I love this shit. Such an awesome sound!
definately better than new pantera
"new pantera" lmao
You are joking I hope
Hell Yeah.... another GREAT Old School song by Pantera. \m/ \m/ All Hails ThePanteraTribute for another great upload. All Hails \m/ \m/
