Panic! At The Disco - Tonight, Tonight Lyrics
Time is never time at all
You can never ever leave without leaving a piece of youth
And our lives are forever changed
You can never be the same
Believe, believe in me, believe, believe
That life can change, that you're not stuck in vain
We're not the same, we're different
Tonight
Tonight, tonight, it's so bright
Tonight,
Ohh tonight
But you're sure you could be right
If you held yourself up to the light
And the embers never fade in your city by the lake
The place where Jon Walker was born
So believe, believe in me, believe, believe
In the resolute urgency of now
Cause I believe there's not a chance tonight
Tonight, tonight, it's so bright
Tonight
Oh tonight
We'll crucify the insincere tonight
We'll make it right, we'll feel it all tonight
If you believe we'll offer up the night tonight
The indescribable moments of your life tonight
The impossible is possible tonight
So believe in me because I believe in you, tonight,
tonight, tonight, oh tonight

Buen cover
Ok I am probably the only one that thinks this but whenever I hear this performance, I think of Ryden. I know it is not a Ryden song but I just can't help but think of it.
Brendon’s voice has gotten even better but the music is worse, I miss this era.
I love this so much because Pretty Odd's aesthetic perfectly suits the aesthetic of Tonight Tonight (particularly it's music video) and and Brendan's voice suits it so well. I would love to hear him record a professional cover of it because one of the things that made me absolutely fall in love with the original song is the strong, beautiful orchestration in the music that I guess can't really be done during a live performance without a full orchestra (when Smashing Pumpkins does it live it's slightly better because I think they have a recording of the string part based on what I heard when I saw them in concert but I digress)
I'm actually crying, i love this
"the place where JON was born"
*give me a better a better panic! cover, i'll wait*
Karma police lol
i still love brendon but i just miss this kind of style ( outfits, stage and music ) and especially the original panic! members :(
Who's watching today?
Brendon was 19 here and I remember watching this when i was 11 and thinking they were so old and mature and now I’m 23 and what Im trying to say is that I feel old (talk about leaving a piece of youth)
i love this song and it's so cool to hear his voice change this song
I actually prefer the faster tempo in this version, I think it gives a sense of urgency (like how it says in the song lol) and I just think it fits better with the lyrics and overall tone. Just my thoughts, and both songs are amazing :)
It sounds too perfect if that makes sense. Brendon is almost too good. Billy adds something else to this.
I cry everytime I watch this because I am only 14 and I know that I will never ever get to experience all of these amazing, talented people😭
I was 19 during this tour and the Dresden Freaking Dolls opened for them too!! And I do remember when they covered this and Karma Police and I was excited and impressed but I was among a sea of 13-16yr olds who had no idea what those 2 songs were.
Oh the guyliner days. *sigh*
With this i can whole heartedly say there exists a cover that's better than the original!
i would give away all the money i have to have been at this concert
Holy shit panic killed it they just needed to be a bit slower and this would have been amazing
I miss this Panic!. I miss these nice, raw instrumentals. I miss them not being as pop-driven. I love Brendon, but I really miss their old music. Brendon can still sing, of course, (and better) but I think he could be doing so much more.
Spencer's drumming still blows me away 💜💜
How did i not know this existed?? One of my favorite bands being covered by my favorite panic era, just like karma police. Although not nearly as good as the original, i thought they did a great job with the arrangement, and made it fit their style at that time very well. Don’t mind brendons voice either, it didn’t feel as wrong and out of place as expected. Over all, quite satisfied👌
All these years and I'm still blown away by this! 😍
THIS IS SUCH AN UNDERRATED COVER
I wish Brendon and panic at the disco played rock music like this
To me pretty odd , a fear you can't sweat and Vice and Vitcre were great era and best times of my life
But I guess not everyone would agree
Kinda like fallout boy , they changed to mainstream which is disappointing to me
I just wish they all could go back to their old roots and perform songs and covers like this
And you know your never sure. But sure you could be right. If you held yourself up to the light.
This might be an unpopular opinion but this is way better than the original
Che cani
spencer is so talented i-
i always thought mellon collie and pretty odd shared a lot of simmilarites, kinda gave off the same vibes
also Ryan please come back we miss u
so good everytime
i would do anything to be at this concert fUck
Ruined it
Great cover.
He has the voice of an angel sldlskahaksjss
i hate this cover i should have never listened to it . dont get me wrong i love brandon urie but hes not the grunge type and i love the smashing pumpkins so this completely ruined me xD
There are so many things wrong with this comment, I just... i need to calm down for a minute so that I don't verbally slap you.
you completely ruined me
Hi ! a Pumpkins fan here. Pls don’t miss our band music videos https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mqIryf3Y71g&index=5&list=PLF8O6Am4FrX9WcRSU6IlCSQDm0Gg_HeYe&t=0s
this is so fucking beautiful
I was just crying because I was imagining meeting Brendon and him singing this to me and I just didn’t want him to go.
I wanna rest my head on his lap and fall asleep, gazing at the at the stars with this being played, dreaming only of the future, forget the past.
wow that's some deep shit
This is a very hard cover to do. I came here expecting shit but it was actually very good. Well done!
i'd sell my soul to see that cover live - especially that cover, but also that song with Brendons voice now.
*fixes hair*
Sounds great at .75% playback.
That Drummer
Billy Corgan is a brilliant song writer, best of a generation..
"The city where john was born"
im crying and it wont stop

SERIOUSLY SERIOUSLY SERIOUSLY. HEAR ME OUT *THIS IS NOT AN UNDERSTATEMENT* I AM IN *LOVE* WITH THIS COVER. I WANT THIS AT MY WEDDING, FUNERAL, EVERTHING. I AM ACTUALLY CRYING REAL TEARS AND I HAVE NEVER FELT SO STRONGLY ABOUT A COVER BEFORE. I LOVE THIS.

Beautiful cover. My favourite as it makes me so nostalgic

Amazing cover of an an amazing song.. fuckin' wow from a SP fanatic.. so glad i found this. Ps lads, your cover of Karma Police.... tears almost.

2:58-3:01 Oml I'm crying it gets me every time. Brendon sounds just so beautiful aghhh.
RYAN ROSS PLEASE NOTICE ME
Live in Denver aka panic's best show
At first I thought Brendon couldn't pull it off because his voice is different and it wouldn't suit the song but he really blew me away. They did a really good job! Seriously, words cannot describe how much I love this cover. I'm just in complete and utter awe right now!!!
Why am I crying, pls panic be together again
that guitar tone is mud
Coming from an SP fan, this is a good cover.
Decent cover, not as good as the original.
Best way to listen to this: set to 0.75 speed. They go way too fast. otherwise though, amazing cover
in the original billy clearly sings "believe in me as a i believe in you" but in this I'm pretty sure brendon says "believe in me cause I'm leaving you" (he may have said the real lyric and my ears are just fooling me) but if he really changed that, props to him, because i just find that so insanely powerful and i wish it was the original lyric.
Sweaty Beebs
Every time I watch this I have to remind myself that they are fucking 19 here and doing better at their own instruments than I will ever do in my whole life at anything. If that makes sense to you I applaud you
I don't know how to describe it other than ear orgasm
I’m not crying, you’re crying
“THE PLACE WHERE JON WAS BORN” 😂😂
Time is never time at all
You can never ever leave without leaving a piece of youth
And our lives are forever changed
We will never be the same
The more you change the less you feel
Believe, believe in me, believe
That life can change, that you're not stuck in vain
We're not the same, we're different tonight
Tonight, so bright
Tonight
And you know you're never sure
But you're sure you could be right
If you held yourself up to the light
And the embers never fade in your city by the lake
The place where you were born
Believe, believe in me, believe
In the resolute urgency of now
And if you believe there's not a chance tonight
Tonight, so bright tonight
We'll crucify the insincere tonight
We'll make things right, we'll feel it all tonight
We'll find a way to offer up the night tonight
The indescribable moments of your life tonight
The impossible is possible tonight
Believe in me as I believe in you, tonight
They do phenomenal covers
To perfect , no edge all (vocals
2:22 "the place where *John* was born"
the original line was "where *you* were born" iirc
Jon was one of the members of the band. It’s probably a nod to him more than it is a lyrical mistake.
i really love this cover, literally makes me cry everytime
oi maha radi ko ban ta lai git gauna naiya paxi na ga na ta khata ko ban radi valu
Just scrolling through in nearly 2018 still obsessed with this.... no big deal.
spencer is killing it also fUCK i didn't remember this existed
Where is the version in decent quality.
By far one of my favorite covers across any genre of music.
:)
I would sell my soul to see this live
Ashley Dragons same
I don't know why this makes me cry I'm so weird
THIS IS MY FAVORITE SONG
why did he call out jon in this song i’m dying
"This cover ruined the song" if it's that easy to completely ruin it for you clearly you didn't like it that much in the first place lmao. Either way they were still kids so cut them some slack.
