Pain Of Salvation - Used Lyrics

"I am the unclean
The black drop at the bottom of your cup
You'd better drink or throw me up
'Cause I am on your lip and tongue
God
I'm not yours as much as you are mine
So let me in to be your lung
Just breathe me deep and take another sip
So still
A taste so sweet but so bitter the kill
Still on your lip
You are so close
I'll let you come
Between my legs you are closer death than sun
And I'm not your daughter as much as you're my son
I'll let you come
In my mouth on your lip
So ready and thirsty for the next sip
You let me in, I let you come
I'd never let you down
You let me win, I let you drown!"
Getting used to pain

I am crying unwept tears through this violence
I'll die trying to break this thick crust of silence

"I am the greatest star
So bright that you all come forth and beg to taste my light
I can take you far but I'll burn you out before we get there
But hey! Who am I to stand in your way?
Go ahead; swallow me down!
I'll have no problems finding myself out
When you've gone down
When your all cracked and wound."
Getting used to pain

I am crying unwept tears through this violence
I'll die trying to break this thick crust of silence

Trading pain is a bad deal
I've got more than my share
Too much to bear!
Every beat of the hammer
Every blood stricken street:
A way to trade off heat.

They will bleed till I'm empty
If I deserve to die I'll make it show
I will stain your affection, I will wear out your heart
You'll follow where I go

Blood stains
Cut veins
Filthy
Murder
Leave me...

  1. O.... S....

Johan is such a beast of a drummer. So underrated

  2. O.... S....

It feels so strange when "In The Flesh" doesn't start after the outro

  3. B.... B....

What is the meaning of the rap parts' lyrics? and generally all of the song? somebody enlighten me please!

    B.... B....

It's mostly around drug abuse. The verses are from the point of view of the drug, instead of the addict.

    B.... B....

It's centered around the abuse of the two people the album follows. It's kinda like a rush of fragmented flashbacks hitting both and getting mixed.it also sets up later stages of the album in the outro.

    B.... B....

Also thank you for the lyrics on that idioglossia video 👌

  4. M.... ....

Queria saber quantos BPM tem essa musica

This was the first Pain of Salvation song I ever heard and boy am I glad I listened to it. Totally random find as I was looking up a list of influences of Tommy Rogers from Between the Buried and Me (who I'd just gotten into) and he listed these guys an influence. I know that probably no one cares, but I thought I'd share my connection with this song.

    Peace.

  6. G.... ....

I uploaded this and forgot the pass for my old account. Sound quality is crap xD
Beautiful music though, to listen to the complete album, not to make cheap criticism on a single song.

    great band !!!!!!

    p.... ....

Yep, they used to be great!

This song is so strange, with it's almost raplike verses, and then those melodic choruses and that guitar solo.

    g.... ....

    @ganondorfchampin It's not a claim, it's a constatation.

    g.... ....

+Maestro Of Horror It's a claim. Now go troll somewhere else.

    g.... ....

@ganondorfchampin No no, a constatation. Yours is a claim that mine is a claim. :)

    power play

    KyleJPie10:
    1. I don't get the concept and I still love it
    2. People who were sexually abused (or abused in any other way) can love it more than enyone else.

    maskedhero666:
I don't hear it here, but I find Faith No More in many PoS songs.

  12. F.... ....

    na, he just needs ears

  13. L.... C....

    Eu simplesmente amo essa música!

    L.... C....

    somos 3 entao!

  14. T.... l....

Is dislinking this video is a sentence of death in some countries, I think it should be, because you should not dislike gods, you listen to them and you say : this is a true masterpiece or maybe some people wake every god so they are thinking: I can never submit to all the things you've said God if you want me dead, I'm right here God

  15. L.... ....

    potente

  16. I.... ....

Yeah when you look at it that way. I still think the melody gets kind off corny when matched up with those lyrics.

  17. M.... M....

I think the lyrical content with the chorus is shit. (You're stating the obvious, it would be more disturbing without telling what we already know).

But I love the harmony of the chorus too... It's like the child is mentally going to a happier place or bittersweet escape while he is going through this.

It makes me think of the novel 'Less than Zero' when Clay is "disappearing" from watching Julian whore himself out.

    M.... M....

I disagree with you on the lyrical content being shit.

  18. T.... K....

you need more musical culture then

  19. N.... ....

    Blood stains
    Cut veins
    Filthy
    Murder

    Leave me...

  20. K.... ....

It is quite clear that half of the people commenting here have the mental capacity of six year old's. Anyone with a negative remark towards this masterpiece is either incapable of comprehending the conceptual beauty of it... or is a sex-crazed maniac that was abused as a child.

    K.... ....

KyleJPie10 That's like saying "You're stupid cause you don't like what I like"

  21. C.... ....

pm me for full album link in best quality

  22. I.... ....

@Reckonis Kind of agree its not the best chorus ive ever heard. "I am crying" well okay.

    I.... ....

Idk it always hits me hard. I don't think he means it literally. I think it's more about the long term affects and struggling to open up about them

  23. M.... ....

This is one of the only songs I have heard sounding similar to faith no more. I can pretend this is mike patton and enjoy myself.

  24. J.... W....

I thought this was great until 1.26

  25. w.... ....

@SmokingJulevalentine you've forgotten to name Steve Wilson and Mikael Akerfeldt, but of course, Townsend, Arjessen and Gildenlöw are underrated...

  26. p.... ....

There was a time when this band was my favorite band. Still love em, but they can't top these early albums. Amazingly emotive and well executed.

  27. a.... ....

@SmokingJulevalentine And you happen to mention Ayreon, one of my fav bands as well. Prog and symphonic metal is a a worldwide matter. There's no real and significant concentration of fans anywhere. If you like alternative and proggresive, I have a somehow rock band with some metal riffs, and we're uploading some videos. It's in spanish though... Look at the description!

    a.... ....

Since early 90ies there is a real and significant concentration of fans in the central western Europe somewhere in that corner where Netherlands, France and Germany are all close..
