Pain Of Salvation - Holy Diver Lyrics

Holy Diver
You've been down too long in the midnight sea
Oh, what's becoming of me
Ride the tiger
You can see his stripes but you know he's clean
Oh, don't you see what I mean

Gotta get away
Holy Diver

That's right
You're Holy, Holy Diver

C'mon

Shiny diamonds
Like the eyes of a cat in the black and blue
Something is coming for you
Race for the morning
You can hide in the sun 'til you see the light
Oh, we will pray it's all right

Gotta get away, get away
Gotta get away, get away

Between the velvet lies
There's a truth that's hard as steel
The vision never dies
Life's a never ending wheel

Holy Diver
Holy Diver
Holy Diver
Holy Diver
Holy Diver
That's right
Holy Diver
Holy Diver

Pat Boone was clearly an Inspiration. Because he did it as well.

  4. T.... N....

I remember when I was a little kid and I had to go shopping at Gimbels with my Mom or something back in 1977....I loved department store music!!! As I listen to this I wanna find a female mannequin and touch it's butt!!! Holy Saints in Heaven, THIS REALLY SUCKS!!!! I wanna kick something really hard!!!!!

Is there more "remix" of Dio ?

  9. j.... s....

At first, I was disappointed to hear what they had done to this fantastic song that "Holy diver" is. But man, these guys are so talented they could sing the phone book and still be interesting

  10. T.... ....

That was just... Damn , thats how you do a cover!! Amazing

  11. G.... D....

There's also an homage to Stevie Wonder "Master Blaster"

    G.... D....

I came to this vid because I was discovering Stevie Wonder and when that song began to sound I had to check twice the title! I thought the playlist skiped few songs

  12. O.... S....

This cover is great, don't know what people are complaining about

  13. T.... W....

when your so prog you accidentally go jazz

    T.... W....

    *you're

    T.... W....

    And reggae.

  14. R.... M....

OMG! Lounge singer does Dio, morphing to reggae does Dio, then jazz ! I do love many types of music, but this mix cracks me up! I do love the other Pain of Salvation songs I have been listening to this morning though! I am really looking forward to seeing them live on the 2017 Cruise To The Edge!

  15. T.... S....

Really like this. Love DIO but this is smooth.

    T.... S....

+Tracy Smith killswitch engage was my fav it was smooth as it gets when its still metal

  16. Y.... A....

I'm not sure if i liked it or not.

    Y.... A....

+Yakup Atış that is exactly how i'm feeling right now

    Y.... A....

    Sikimiye

  17. M.... H....

WTF.... That is no more "Pain of salvation", it is just a "pain in the ass...."

    M.... H....

    +Mau Herrn hahahah ikr

  18. b.... o....

    ........Pat Boone²not   very  Original.

  19. T.... M....

    amazing!!!

  20. c.... ....

    - I love Dio.
    - I love Pain of Salvation
    - I hate this version of the song.

    c.... ....

+charlzm Well what's you opinion of lounge music?

    c.... ....

There's a time and place for it. Since I"m not in a lounge and I'm not in the mood...

    c.... ....

Yep. Smells like some "bad restaurant" spirit.

  21. E.... O....

Opeth evolves and everybody is clapping at them, but Pain of Salvation evolves and everybody is hating them. A band can evolve if they want to, great bands did it: Death, Amorphis, Cynic.

    E.... O....

I live in Costa Rica and I never knew somebody who likes PoS

    E.... O....

@Enmyr Osorio Well, the only people I know who like PoS I've met online.

    E.... O....

exactly, why is people so mind closed? The first time I heard PoS was back in 2007 when I was like 9 years old in a local television channel. This music blows my mind.

    E.... O....

@Enmyr Osorio I only heard of them a couple years ago, but they are absolutely amazing.

    E.... O....

ganondorfchampin, I never really liked Opeth.. I find something insincere on their attempts... But I think POS are on another category altogether.. Love them a lot.. in most albums.. no matter the period.

  22. h.... ....

I've never heard Pain of Salvation, just discovered them with this awesome cover. Too bad their music in general isn't as great as this :/

    h.... ....

+hattorinarwhal Their music is not easy to digest. It takes a bit of time to get used to it.

    h.... ....

Funny, I think this is without a doubt the worst thing they have ever recorded.

  23. L.... C....

It's funny to see how people criticize this. Ronnie did know PoS, and would have loved this version.

    L.... C....

+Lucas Cottica Silveira Yeah people can listen to the original if they don't like it. What's the point of a cover being exactly like the original song? This cover is really good.

    L.... C....

Considering the kind of person Dio was and his attitude to music, I think he'd love the idea of somebody being creative with one of his songs, instead of just making a straight up cover.

  24. T.... ....

    Quality

  25. J.... ....

Now this is how you make covers, people!

  26. C.... K....

So original. I love this cover :)

  27. s.... ....

    This is terrible.

  28. M.... N....

Where's the majestic PoS we all once loved....

  29. T.... O....

I quite like Jazz but you have ruined such a great song! I don't have a little mind either, this song is just not for me.

    T.... O....

+The Original Wilson They haven't ruined it, the original version is still alive and well

  30. J.... G....

Pain of salvation is dead for me :(

    J.... G....

    @***** lol

  31. s.... k....

    Very original!!!Good job!!!

  32. R.... C....

a bit of Steve Wonder in the middle!

  33. D.... ....

    Jazz reggae? :D Amazing song.

  34. j.... s....

I don't particularly love this cover but I admire P.O.S. for having been able to come up with this jazzy version of Dio's classic. P.O.S is definitely an amazing band

  35. s.... i....

    very cheesy. richard cheesy :)

  36. M.... M....

    haha this sucks

  37. L.... S....

well... it's actually as much as Stevie Wonder - Masterblaster cover...  at aroiund 2:05... it's too obvious not to be true...

  38. M.... C....

This is a great cover of a Pat Boone song. Its called Holy Diver

  39. M.... ....

    Wow. This is actually astounding.

  40. T.... O....

what kind of shit is this?!?!

    T.... O....

the kind of shit you're too closed minded to understand. It's fuckin jazz when is harder to play than any kind of rock music.

    T.... O....

@Erik Coates so you are saying that jazz is harder than progressive rock and metal that is the most bullshit thing i have ever heard this month...

    T.... O....

Actually, in terms of music theory and the main approach, Jazz is harder...

  41. P.... P....

Matou o gostinho dos headbangers, mas esse arranjo em jazz ficou massa.

  42. T.... J....

Refreshing to hear a good original sounding cover.

  43. F.... ....

So many dislikes... Dio would be very pleased!

    F.... ....

Pleased with the dislikes or this version?

    F.... ....

    The version.

    F.... ....

    Ok, good to know =)

    F.... ....

it would be great to watch an authentic Jazz band playing Dio this way, instead of this Jazz-Bob Marley stuff played by an ex-metal band full of talented musicians, not much original though. Just a bunch of influences put all together. Dio is dead and this sounds musically very good and like a joke at the same time.

  44. C.... M....

Qué wea más mala, PoS, fuiste bueno alguna vez u.u

    C.... M....

  45. V.... V....

    The best cover miesmuistiin!!
