Pain Of Salvation - A Trace Of Blood Lyrics

Touching ground
Going home to those I miss
Safe and sound
Weeks of exile turn to bliss
But there's something in her voice
when she is calling me
A trace of blood to lead me through roads of agony
With blood taste in my mouth
and clouds before my eyes,
I kneel beside the bed where my bleeding dryad lies

Three young souls in misery

Hitting ground
Nausea wakes me up at dawn
Hopes are found
Dissected, turned and then withdrawn
A chair of steel and wire
Her legs are open wide
Helpless in myself I stand there cold beside
The doctors stay away
Leave us with this dismay
To see the colours of a miracle fade and turn to grey

Then a cry and rivers of blood
flow so sadly, bringing you
Our dreams pour into a cold tray
Two young souls in misery
Missing you

I never knew your name, but I will miss you just the same
I was to live for you
I lost the will to live at all the day you came
It'll never be the same, but I will love you just the same
You were to be the first, how wonderful
Now I will always fear to hope again

The irony of seeing me whispering through her skin
so joyfully to our child there deep within
Or of when she called to me to tell me cheerfully
that she had seen your shape on a hospital screen
And of nurses being concerned
that you never moved or turned
Too late we see the warnings
Too late we learn!!

I never saw your face and now you're gone without a trace
Except the trace of blood
that's deeply scarred into my eyes to fill your place
It'll never be the same, but I will love you just the same
I was prepared to be your father
How can I ever prepare for that again?

Still I follow that trace of blood
always leading back to you
Hollow years of damming that flood
Two young souls in misery
Missing you... missing you...

Wow, i always thought the album art was supposed to be edgy and raunchy. But knowing the lyrics to this song and to rope ends, that artwork has way more weight and meaning behind it. Wow.

Daniel is a musical and lyrical genius. Only he can write an album with this sort of emotional value. Music is emotion, and this is a contender of my favorite album ever that touches me the most. All songs except for maybe title track are masterpieces. It's one of those albums I never get tired of. All songs works

    J.... H....

    "Music is emotion"
It's very reductive vision of music.

@A. K. Meant positive or negativelely? Music are notes and rythms that makes us feel a certain way, but music is not essencial for emotions as most has it, also people who are not interrested in music. But i do believe that many people who listens to music with deep lyrics and a rather complicated and emotionally colored style develope some qualities empathetically and emotionally that some who don´t listen much to music or only that on the radio does.

When they were in their prime and had the original line up. Im totally in love with the whole Remedy Lane album. For me it´s a classic album and it is one long highlight for me. The three in a row with A Trace Of Blood, This Heart Of Mine and Undertow may be the best streak of songs i have ever heard thou, what album, what song.

One of my favorite songs of all time. I call it the moving down beat song. But it's so much more than that! Langell was just unbelievable! I wish he was still in the band!

  14. C.... J....

This brings me to tears every time. To have a stillborn child is nightmare I wouldn't wish on anyone.

    C.... J....

    Charles Jones God bless you.

  15. n.... ....

There's a rip off from Rush's "Spirit Of Radio" here.

    n.... ....

No, there isn't anynrip off. Do you know music theory? Well I know some of it and I know that not everything that sounds similar is the same musically. Only similarity to rush would fast playing high notes in even rhythm. That's not rip off by that logic using a hihat in drum track would be a rip off too...

  16. J.... G....
