Owens, Buck - We Split The Blanket Lyrics

Every night I go out somebody asks me
Whatever happened to you
I just say that I haven't seen you lately
And then I say my friend I thought you knew.

That we split the blanket down the middle
'Cause we could never get along
We split the blanket down the middle
That's all you can do when love is gone.

[Instrumental]

Well, I tell 'em that we tried and tried to make it
But we couldn't solve what was the use
To hang on to love it's only mis'ry
Ao now I'm fancy free and foot loose.

Yes, we split the blanket down the middle
'Cause we could never get along
We split the blanket down the middle
That's all you can do when love is gone...

The original Buckaroos of course. Buck, Don, Doyle, Tom, & Willie. Tele breaks no doubt that's Don (aka king of tele). Tom Brumley, what a pedal steel player was he? 10 years with Buck. mosrite60

Yes, this is Buck singing harmony also. Listen to that Fender Telecaster bark out. It's not hard to tell Don is playing it.

@unstopedpiano...Correct...that is Buck singing harmony with himself, you would be surprised that on most of the studio records Buck does the harmony with himself. But on some studio stuff Don sings harmony, but not that many. Live recordings Buck and Don would always harmonize.

@idgoback So that's not Don Rich on harmony then??
