Outfield, The - I Don't Need Her Lyrics
You said you see me running
and that is no surprise
When I was far from danger
I opened my eyes
Now I look back in anger
It's just a race for strangers
and this race goes on
[Chorus]
I'm so glad that I don't need her
and I'm too tired of trying to please her
but in the end I just can't leave her
Can't leave her tonight
You've got a different story
but you evade the glory
Come in from the cold
Don't wait until tomorrow
Don't push it back another day
Don't try to hide your sorrow
What else can I say
[Chorus]
You said you see me running
but that was no surprise
When I was far from danger
I opened my eyes
[Chorus]
[Chorus]

You said you see me running
and that is no surprise
When I was far from danger
I opened my eyes
Now I look back in anger
for I did nothing wrong
It's just a race for strangers
and this race goes on
[Chorus]
I'm so glad that I don't need her
and I'm too tired of trying to please her
but in the end I just can't leave her
Can't leave her tonight
You've got a different story
from anything that I've been told
but you evade the glory
Come in from the cold
Don't wait until tomorrow
Don't push it back another day
Don't try to hide your sorrow
What else can I say
[Chorus]
You said you see me running
but that was no surprise
When I was far from danger
I opened my eyes
[Chorus]
[Chorus]
This is one of my most favorite outfield songs! Mystery man is my #1 song... 61 seconds is 3rd. :)
I think this might be one of their very best. So sorry to hear the news of John Spinks passing. Thank you for all that you gave us.
R.i.p. john Spinks
I think this is one of their best songs, but the only song that EVER gets played on the radio is "Your Love"...it's a great song don't get me wrong, but this song is just as good, if not better!! :)
"Your Love" was labeled as a single and of course it would get alot more radio play than the other backing songs on the album, "Your Love" was more of a simplistic but still complex in the way its played and performed. In my eyes, The Outfield surpass themselves on every album they made in technique and skill, not in success compared to "Play Deep" but still damn relevant that these guys had some real serious talent that didnt get the attention they truly deserved, But these boys were always down to earth with their success. and always appreciated the attention more and more over the course of the years.
I like it here better :D
That's because "Your Love" is a One-Hit Wonder. The Outfield has many other songs besides the one that became a hit.
Fucking love this song, and I love you as a result! :D
