I feel like the people that really like this style missed the point of Maida's lyrics and vocal uniqueness on their old stuff. This sounds FAR too clean and bland. Lacks style and vision. Might as well be sung by 'insert indie/alt-rock band number 233 here'.

They wen't downhill incredibly quickly after 'Spiritual Machines'. This song is just kind of sad.

This is okay. Better than almost everything on Burn Burn, and way better than anything Curve produced. I honestly can't even recognize Curve as a OLP album. I don't even know what that was.

You can't rely on catchy chorus' your entire career - this song shows stronger verse lyrics and I like it.

I like it. I like all their stuff...this is a good uplifting song. It shows their diversity. Keep it up boys. Saw them at the Filmore in Detroit and again Labor Day Weekend in Royal Oak MI. Good stuff. Always.

How can i feel Jeremy's departure here! One of the most remarkable elements in OLP was the disctinctive drums, that particular rythm style.

the songs so locked-in-step and forced "catchy" the song is trapped in claustrophobic pop bubble. it's similar in fashion to a 70s band trying to create 80s adult contemporary. Here's a 90s band trying to emulate anthem oriented arena folk rock, but the band can't write natural hooks anymore, so it doesn't really work, it's going for a Andy Grammar/American Authors vibe

Nothing will match the glory years of OLP in the 90's, but this tune is catchy. I dig it.

WHAT. THE. FUUUUU. I've watched that terrible Genie Bouchard Pinty's about eight hundred times and all of a sudden *POOF* I'm like, "Oh my god, that's Our Lady Peace!". Sure enough, two google searches later and here we are. What a brutal, bubble gum pop-esque song from a once pretty good band. I loved Naveed, was so-so on Clumsy, and checked out after that, but this brings my disappointment to a whole new level!

WOW!!!  Where the hell did this one come from!!!  Love it!!!  I remember my darker times of the past when this band really hit home.  Never thought they would still be hitting home almost 20 years later with this beautiful beat that does nothing but make me smile and shake my ass!!!!!

I like this tune. A good departure from Healthy in Paranoid Times and its successors.

Definitely more mainstream and upbeat, but still interesting lyrics. Not the "jaded" OLP of the past, and I'm sure that lots of people won't like it, but I do.

whew.....OLP is dead. haven't liked much since Mike Turner left but this is some horrible shit. Raine should find another band name. he's the only one left at this point that wrote music. may as well be a solo album

When I heard it one of the tunes in their instagram post, I was stoked. Turns out that amazing melody was just used for a 15-second bridge in this essentially pop song, and a much tamer version of it too. Wish that melody got its own song, but OLP just seem to be doing everything the opposite of what would reel me in. Really annoying to see one of my all time favorite bands continually disappointing me

wtf is this?? So many of my favorite bands - OLP, LP, 3DD, Fall Out Boy, even 12 stones a little - all decay. Why do they all start so strong and die out later? Clumsy was a masterpiece. I was born around that time and now listen to it and boy I wish I was older to be there when it was the thing. It was Maida's falsetto and dawn-early drowsiness that gave their music that epic surreal feel  (it's so deep that I originally misspelled "feel" as "feal" lol). This deviates too far from that perfect point

Bands should push themselves musically and want to forge ahead stylistically but anyone in their late 30's/early 40's can attest, OLP's musical 'direction' since Gravity has been markedly downward in all aspects.  Nothing put out since then (which is about half of their catalog) has challenged the listener like the previous 5 (Gravity is included only bc it's decent and FAR BETTER than anything that would come later)  
The key is that Raine Maida took control of the band, Mike Turner quit and their X Factor didn't produce anything- Arnold Lanni.  This isn't a coincidence.  I've given up all hope on OLP.....thank God Spritual/Clumsy/Happiness are so musically rich that it keeps their spirit alive. 

I agree with all that except I'm 25 and also Curve was good.

To Everyone complaining about the negativity. We bought OLP because we liked their sound.  Their new album(s) don't sounds the same, hence why people are complaining. You can chalk it up to "change" all you want. it's not about being stuck in teh past or moving forward, its about buying into something that is no longer that thing you bought into emotionally and monetarily

If you like their old stuff listen to their old stuff. It's still there. It didn't disappear because you don't like this song. Way to keep it fresh olp. If I want to listen to your old stuff I'll stick s machines in.

I give credit to Raine. It'd be much easier to just go back and do the naveed-S.Machines era all over again, but he's sticking to what HE wants to do as an artist. While I prefer their old stuff hands down, I don't think this is terrible and it's a hell of a lot better than most of what's out there these days. I mean maybe his life as a married father isn't "angsty" anymore like when he was younger. I don't want to hear somebody projecting fake emotions. If you don't like the new stuff then don't listen to it.

they're not even doing it for that reason. they have no record deal, no one telling them what to do. this album is the third album on their own label. they just suck this bad because Raine forgot how to write great songs when he became a hit songwriter for pop artists and bands. you can only write for so many American Idols before you forget how to be weird. that's what happened here. he doesn't need to be relevant, he's a multi-millionaire. he just needs to dig deeper again

I dig this one. Anyone know when this CD drops? Tour with this album too? I'm with u guys. Didn't care for curve album myself. Last good CD was healthy in paranoid times in my opinion. However I do agree that all artists must change sooner or later. I haven't gave up on OLP just yet. Still one of my overall favorites of all time. Original band, with a one of a kind sound!

I don't know why people can't move on, If i heard the same tone 24/7 in a band with no progress of change and not even trying something new.. I would not want to listen to them, i'd feel like i've heard it all before!

Music has changed over the years to me the 90's to very early 2000's were the rock/grunge days even rap and r&b has changed since then, times are a changing and so should a band like this they grow and we all grow up eventually! I'm glad i've stayed strong in my opinion with Our Lady Peace after all this time! I can't wait to see the new album and listen to some pretty awesome new music :D

Yea, if it was suddenly discovered that Clumsy had a secret B side no one knew about full of songs just like the rest of the LP I would probably trash it for being just the same old boring stuff... yea right dude.

 I didn't mean that.. If that was discovered then that would be awesome! but I mean you've got to have to some creativity when creating music you can't just be "lets stick with the same routine.." Its like a comedy act you cant use that same start up line or use some of the same lines in every show otherwise people have heard it before and wont be laughing as much.. Same with music for example.. Not a great one but.. look at nickelback.. All of there albums its the same sort of music and (Though saying this I do enjoy there music) I do feel like sometimes i've heard it all before just has different lyrics. Plus you have to go with the times if they did bring back that exact feel naveed or clumsy or spritual machines had! I would be there in line with everyone else but if they did the same thing continuously with there albums then I personally would like to hear some growth from the band. Which is exactly what we are hearing in all of there albums today, growth and maturity with all there music. An evolution so to speak.

Also what you said doesnt really fit in with what i said either.. because if there was a b-side to naveed that recording would of been from when naveed was done, i'm talking about going through the years with there music, Raines voice has changed everyones getting older, we all get older, wiser and more mature hopefully.. Same with music this happens.  Jeremy moved on to other creative prospects as he's been with the band since being a teenager. The same thing happened with the band Thrice the music matured over the years. But anyway sorry im not trying to rant i'm just getting my personal opinion out there is all.

I am so happy someone has a bit of ingenuity when it comes to music. There is a reason I stopped listening to a lot of rock bands. Biggest one being Rise Against. BECAUSE EVERYTHING SOUNDS THE SAME. Daft Punk's RAM album was something completely different than what they used to do, and it sold quite a few amount of albums. Linkin Park is still popular, and look at how many different styles they did.

While Naveed and Clumsy are by far OLP's best albums, I thought Curve wasn't that bad. This, however, is utter garbage. OLP just needs to give up the ghost if they're going to release trash like this.

"Artwork" aside, Curve was excellent, their best since Gravity I thought. Just one iffy song on there otherwise it was a pretty strong album. This on the otherhand,oh God...

While Naveed is still a great album, imo it's my least favourite one of Olp's. I honestly love every song and album they put out there and this may be slightly different but still good I don't see the problem with it.

Sorry OLP, You fellas used to be awesome, i was a fan from way back since like '94, and it was alot of fun watching this band evolve, but what they evolved into isn't the greatest, i mean credit to OLP for getting where they are, but guys, re-take your roots and bring back your original sound, cause honestly, this new stuff is kind of "meh"

Wtf is with this trend towards awful sounding vocal mixing. It seems like 90% of indie bands, or in this case a band trying to sound indie, with mushy hall reverb or delay that sounds like it comes out of a trash can or concrete room

I don't think I've ever heard an OLP song like this where I could imagine a bunch of Japanese school idols dancing and singing to it (If you've watched the anime called Love Live and heard of a group called µ's, you know what I mean). I'm not saying it's a bad thing, but it's just the strange feeling I get from listening to this.

The chorus itself is vaguely catchy, which is more than I can say for most of the songs from HIPT and Burn Burn. The production value is awful and the lyrics were written for the teenybopper demographic.
It's a shame that OLP continues down this path, especially since 'Curve' was an excellent album which I thought would lead to a return to grace. I hope this song is by far the weakest on the upcoming album.

Once you get through that annoying clapping part, and the cheesy shit at 2:11 where it goes all quiet as if they're playing in the next room over, this song is kind of tolerable.  Definitely not what they used to be, but most definitely not the worst thing I've heard on the radio these days.

I actually like Healthy and Burn Burn. Listen to them with headphones and you will experience some nice tight music. Curve is still growing on me. I bet this song will be the weakest on the new album. I like the message though. I'm thinking Raine and the crew are saying despite people complaining about the way they sound now they're not ready to give it up like some bands just drift away.

From Naveed (1994) to Won't Turn Back (2014), every album over these TWENTY YEARS has had a new feel, and every album has retained what Raine makes special. That's why I've never got tired of my favourite band.

I was grinning ear to ear through the whole thing. I hope they NEVER are ready to stop. That's what it was telling me, anyways. PLEASE KEEP GOING GUYS! I can't live without you! Great song. THE best band in existence. I love you and hope Jeremy changes his mind and comes back. I love all of you. Good, bad...it's all subjective, of course. Personally I like it a lot but I think it's really hard for any band to get to album nine and 22 years without some of the fanbase not liking the new stuff and wishing they'd be "as good as they used to". Raine's 44 now. What was when when Naveed came out? 24? He was just a kid! So I'm not saying if this is good or if this is bad....just that it's completely inevitable that some of the fanbase aren't going to like it. But it's nothing to worry about

I thought Curve was OLP's best album since Spiritual Machines and they were stepping in the right direction, but to me this song sounds like a b-side. There's nothing grabbing me or standing out, it's going in one ear and out the other. This song is no different than any other song i hear on the adult alternative station and it disappoints me cause they really challenged themselves with Curve. Judging by this song, i think they're taking a step back again. I hope i'm wrong.

My prediction was based on the fact that it seems like nearly all the music video's I watch on youtube have some dumbass saying it's hipster b.s. I'm tired of people discrediting good music by saying it's made by or for a certain group of people that are cool to dislike now.  Like how a million rock bands who had a high pitched lead singer who sang about a broken heart was mislabeled "emo". Emo, hipster bs, whatever, just enjoy the music. 
And I do thoroughly enjoy this song, and I've liked OLP since Naveed too. I like the evolution of OLP.
