Orbison, Roy - Sweet And Easy To Love Lyrics

Well it's so sweet and easy to love you
Like I do yes it's true I love you
And it's so sweet and easy to want you
On my mind all the time say you're mine

I want you to say you'll always stay and be my love so true
Because I know if you ever go I won't get over you
Cause it's so sweet and easy to love you
Like I do yes it's true I love you

Well it's so sweet and easy to love you
Like I do yes it's true I love you
And it's so sweet and easy to hold you
Close to me, lovingly, tenderly

Now I will never love another I want only you
I want to say in every way that you're my dream come true
Cause it's so sweet and easy to love you
Like I do yes it's true I love you
I love you, I love you

+jeff jeeves Yes, sorry Roy was playing guitar on this session of course and it does sound like his lead work, but Roland James did also play on the session, as he did many many more at Sun of course. Thanks from another Jeff.

+RockinRedRover Roy was a fine guitar player, and played lead on all of his sun recordings,on a gretsch duo jet, similar to the great cliff gallup's one,but with the thicker body.As for roland, whose records didn't he play on?,all of jerry lee's best songs, billy lee riley, the list runs to about 150 songs, play any great sun rockabilly and you'll hear roland in there somewhere, a great guitar man who also played a gretsch. Talking of cliff gallup,I read somewhere that gretsch are finally thinking of bringing out a cliff gallup signature model, about time!! Thanks for the reply, good to hear there are people keeping these guy's memories alive, keep on rockin'mate!

As said below, a great group !.  Not surprising as this is not the Teen Kings but the Sun house band - Roland Janes guitar, James M. Van Eaton drums, doesnt get much better. Recorded at Sun in Memphis December 14, 1956.  "Taking his cue from Elvis & Jordanaires, Orbison had brought a vocal group, the Roses, in from Odessa, Texas for the session. The group consisting of Robert Linville, tenor; Ray Rush, baritone; and David Bigham, bass."
    Superb !

+CashPresley32  Oh, I naturally assumed you were discussing this Orbison tune etc.   Yes, they were key to the early Cash sound, that great tight rhythm, but to be perfectly honest I'm not a massive fan of Johnny, altho I very much enjoyed one of his shows in London in the 80s, don't recall who was in the (large) band that day ?.  I gather Luther was a good player of course, but I've not listened enough to comment fairly, ditto Grant. Fluke is a bigger legend to me for his work with Carl, which is far more my thing. And he saved Carl's life ! -  we saw Carl and his boys  twice here in the 80s.  I'm hoping to see Fluke at Hemsby this spring.

@RockinRedRover W.S. believe it or not is my distant cousin, best friend, grandfather figure, and music contact, which means he is helping me get my career started.

+CashPresley32  Sure I believe you, why not. I am sure you could not have a better guide and mentor, hope it all goes well for you and you both enjoy a long and happy relationship.  Please wish Fluke a great trip to England, and little old Hemsby (there is an old saying, where the hell IS Hemsby?, but once he has found it he will be made very welcome by an appreciative crowd).  I'm not usually one for autograph hunting but maybe this time. Nice talkin, all the best, J.

And an excellent singer even back then!

  13. H.... ....

One of my favorite singers. Love his voice.
He's later to be known as the soul of rock 'n' roll.

    He died way too young.
