Orbison, Roy - Rock House Lyrics

Blue light, big crowd
Jukebox plays loud
No fear, no care
Everybody's rockin' everywhere
Rock house, rock house, rock house
We're goin' to the rock house
Well rock it in the mornin'
Rock it in daylight
Rockin' through the evening
And I won't be home at night
Rock house, we're goin' to the rock house
Rock-a-rock house

Heartache, you lose
No trouble, no booze
Come one, come all
Well rock it up and have a ball
Rock house, rock house, rock house
We're goin' to the rock house

    Early Orbison

  6. J.... ....

One of my favorite Orbison tunes.
It was originally written by Harold Jenkins(Conway Twitty).Twitty and Orbison re-wrote the song for the this Sun Studio session even though the writing credits read Orbison-Philips(Sam).

    J.... ....

via Conway's (former) sax man, Martin Willis :-)
The salve was the co-writing credits.

This is a song I've been looking for. Until about 10 minutes ago, I remembered its name as "Light House." I'm absolutely certain it was on the flip side of a 78 of Ooby Dooby that I got for a quarter in 1956. But one poster tells me that "Go, go, go" was the flip of Ooby Dooby.

    r.... ....

It was actually paired with one or the other to suit different locales.

    r.... ....

On what do you base that assumption? If you have any proof of a different flip side please post it. Roy Orbison and the Teen Kings "Ooby Dooby" backed with "Go! Go! Go!" was issued on Sun catalogue number 242 in May 1956 while "You're My Baby" backed by "Rockhouse" came out on Sun 251 in September 1956, both were available in 78rpm and 45rpm formats. Discogs, global dog productions and boija.com all list the flip to "Ooby Dooby" as "Go! Go! Go!".

@zerosprite I was under the impression that ooby dooby was issued on another label first and sun basically re-recorded it
