Operation Ivy - Junkie's Runnin' Dry Lyrics

I always looked up to the ones who walked away
Choosing themselves over preset ways
Of looking at a future that had no room for the
Questions they lived for
Always knew I never could have walked away myself
My self worth was beyond any help
And I didn't care to test it against the rejection I had seen before

But those I loved so much they underwent a change
They're working forty hours, they got caught in the game

Like junkies running dry
The vulnerability
Junkies running dry
They're always there on time
Junkies running dry
They can't be satisfied
Like junkies running dry

This wonderful generosity
A third of our lives to do what we please
Doesn't look that great to me
In fact it doesn't even look fair
They call it youthful idealism
And even I would have to agree with them
Except some of us grow up and it's still there

But those I loved so much they underwent a change
They're working forty hours they got caught in the game

Like junkies running dry
The vulnerability
Junkies running dry
They're always there on time
Junkies running dry
We can't be satisfied
Like junkies running dry

I grow up too slow, I don't wanna go
I grow up too slow, I don't wanna go
I grow up too slow, I don't wanna go
I grow up too slow, I don't wanna go

But those I loved so much they underwent a change
They're working forty hours, they got caught in the game

But now I'm working just like everyone else
But I'll get out
I'll get out of here

Like junkies running dry
The vulnerability
Junkies running dry
They're always there on time
Junkies running dry
We can't be satisfied
Like junkies running dry

agree guitarmaniac! our govt is sooo corrupt....911 was done by ourselves. the bush administration did it! fucking mother fuckers! just check a video on netflix called loose change where they present facts and facts only about how we did everything on 911 to ourselves! fuck!

    mr pie yeah

    m.... p....

You haven't heard enough Rancid. The lyrics on ...And Out Come The Wolves and Life Won't Wait are good enough to get tatted on yourself.

    m.... p....

OP IVY = Rancid = Tim Armstrong

    m.... p....

bigbag no way my friend op ivy is 1000 times better. These aren’t Tim Armstrong lyrics

  23. S.... C....

    the ;last free band!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  24. m.... ....

Similar chords maybe even the exact same, but it isn't the same song by a long shot.....it's alot more than just the chords that make a song.

  25. M.... ....

Am I the only one that has realized Big City and Junkies running dry are the same song with just a small change in the chord progression...after the first 8 bars? lol....STILL THIS MUSIC IS GENIUS!

  26. e.... w....

god fuck this band, these poets, this is music. they prove how much piece of shit music is out now in days.

  27. S.... ....

AdBlock is the answer to your troubles

  28. w.... ....

Fucking sad, an advert before an OP IVY song, FUCK YOU, UPLOADER.

  29. T.... ....

anything can be a trend, it can be good if people dont abuse it or the source and motive of the trend is pure. Otherwise its just more corporate experimentation, playing with our desires like sheep waiting to be slaughtered.

  30. o.... i....

op ivy might be doing a reunion

27 songs of punk genius. Energy is a masterpiece, after all these years I still haven't grown old of it! Thanks for posting!

  37. N.... A....

wow, people arguing back and forth about who's "really" punk rock is incredibly boring. Thats all I care to contribute

  38. O.... ....

i always looked up to the ones who walked away

  39. O.... ....

i always looked up to the ones who walked away

  40. s.... ....

Every track on this album is fucking amazing. My favorite album of al time.

  41. W.... p....

    they cant be satisfied

  42. G.... D....

    cowbell

  43. B.... S....

fuck off, get JOB and realize that the music you love tells you to stop being what you already are. BURN HOT TOPIC DOWN!!!!!!!

  44. P.... ....

Yeah Punk is definetly an attitude. I am def not what people would visualize as a punk music fanatic, but I do have that mentality that is staying true to who you are and not giving a damn about what anyone tells you. People who sit around dressing up to look like a punk are unsure of who their identity is so give them a break.

  45. H.... ....

@fatmikeforpresident yeah dude, you don't even need to go as far as having an attitude: staying true to yourself and your values is what punk always was about. I feel like killing myself when I hear of someone who starts to listen to punk after he bought a "punk" outfit at hot topic or whatever shitty store

  46. n.... ....

@fatmikeforpresident id say its more of a mindset then an attitude, you can be as bad ass as possible and still not fulfill what the songs talk about, its more or less do you think/use your mind or not

  47. T.... ....

Operation Ivy's lyrics are so profound. I would say its comparable to Bob Dylan.

  48. r.... ....

    this song sucks dry penis

  49. s.... ....

@Guitarmaniac4321 this punk was never mainstream

  50. C.... ....

I LOVE the bass in all their songs :3

  51. C.... H....

Everyone, you are not punk if you argue about what punk is, just listen to punk music and act punk, don't argue about whats punk

  52. A.... C....

    @Guitarmaniac4321

  53. A.... C....

your still conforming to mainstream punks by caring what they fuck they think. its good music, with real lyrics. thats all that matters.

  54. x.... ....

So weird having music like this that sneaks under the mainstream radar. Most punk music does thankfully.

  55. J.... K....

omfg i fucken love operation ivy!! you are the awesomest for having this!! first to comment whoo!!
