Oak Ridge Boys, The - But I Do Lyrics
I've been so alone without you
I try not to think about you
But I do, I do.
I know that I'm to blame
But I do, I do.
I sure do feel the pain
And I'd give anything
You know I would
Cause you were so good
And you always could
Give me love.
You sure did make it easy to be loved for a while.
We sure did have it going for a while.
I've been so alone without your touch
Never thought I'd hurt so much
But I do, I do.
I never thought I'd be the kind
To need someone all the time
But I do, I do.
Didn't we have it going?
We sure did have it going for a while.

A lot of saggy scrotals at that concert...
2:00 nice one!!!
They still sound great.
I find it very hilarious that this is featured on a Gaither Gospel Series. I doubt this is considered southern gospel but I love it !!!!

Im straight as an arrow, that having been said ,i insist a plaster a cast of richard sterbans giant balls be made and saved for posterity
TheDieselbutterfly 🤣🤣
thats the best base oh lordy makes the hair stand on the back of my neck
👏👏👏👏
If a bass voice like that, I'd need a warehouse to store all the bras and panties thrown at me.
Richard is hitting a C1 and his range is as low as F4 and lower. I can comfortably hit an A1 so speaking from experience, unfortunately that does not happen😂☹️
NRAman 1776 that’s actually a C2 a c1 is an octave down from this
that’s kinda inappropriate don’t you think?
@NRAman 1776 that was C2.
And lowest reached note by Richard was Eb1
Those boys never change always great and always fun
Loved it....love the bass hits....
I listen to them every day
Me too :)
im mexican born in mexico city but i really like this song, since the first time i heard it bacn in early 80.s, this is very american, why some people want to change america and see the whites as the enemies..? they rule and own this land..!!!!
A lo la nalh reng a nih hi
Wow, sounds just like them when they were younger
I remember square dancing to this song in elementary school.
I love the oak ridge boys and my favorite singer is Richard
I reeeeecall that there Elviry
The bass singer made this song.
David Frazier made the song and gave the song to the Oak Ridge Boys and when the song release on a single it made the oak ridge boys really Well-known of.
@Rodrick Watson I didn't mean he wrote it I meat his voice
Oh I'm Sorry I Thought You Were Saying if the bass Singer wrote this song or not. Sorry
God damn that bass voice is sexy as hell
Jasmine Lake even at 76 years old it still is!
& so are you!👍✌
That guy behind Richard enjoys the bass.. can't stop laughing at his reactions.. lol
Richard Sherman and Michael Landon both went to Collingswood HS in NJ within a few years of each other, although Michael Landon's birth name is Eugene Orowitz
Hi ho silver away
Love this song
The guy that came up behind Richard - can't remember his name - was cracking me up with his facial expressions! 😂😂
Alicia Barrow Sammy Davis Jr.
Todd Suttles
May I ask how this is on a Christian based channel but is an super old country song? I mean it is a good song but...
Most people who follow the Oak Ridge Boys know they started out a gospel quartet. They sing many gospel songs. In no way is the song dirty or sexy..why would they not sing it? It's a gospel event, In the song its says "find the preacher man"...
Isn’t Richard like 70 because he still rocks the bass 😊😊
He just had a birthday. I think he is 76.
He’s damn near 80. He’s still hot as hell.
yes he is 72 i think
I loooove this song ❤ yall slayed this performance still sound good af
I heard that song from the Bellamy brothers last night . And I knew that it was the Oak Ridge Boys that sang this song. What a song guys.
Too bad George isn’t there to help on the one papa maw maw. He’d have been awesome.
On YouTube somewhere George actually does an oom papa mow mow. If you want a link I can try and find it.
Many pabst were drank that night, and the ford pick ups revved all night long.

Happy Halloween 🧟♀️
A Brazilian quartet made a version of this song. https://youtu.be/lkhUPo_8qwA
I love this song to its my me feel good
Were they singing at a nursing home because there's only a bunch of Old people
Yes, they are all old. God grant that you will long enough that someone else thinks YOU are old.
My grandpa used to sing this to me when I was little. He passed away in October 2013. I just turned 27 and I have a 3-year-old and I've sang it to her too!
This song should NOT be on a Christian site. It is of the world and am very dissapointed that the Gaithers allowed it.
@Jerry Butler I love them, all I am saying is that there is enough of the world in the church. Not much different than having smoke machines and wordly music as well give Our Savor our thanks and love. But I have nothing against these guys. This just isn't the proper forum for Elvira. I love when their voices blend into a Christian song, like Greatly Blessed. And you don't know me so don't be so judgmental. Christ healed me from stage 4 tonsil cancer, the largest my oncologist had ever seen, Elvira is out and I pray for the boys. I know that they are Christian. Please understand my side of this conversation and God bless you.
@Jerry Butler You need to get over your self. Again I say, the song is great, but it does not belong to a Christian forum. And it DOESN'T.
Oh lighten up! It's just a harmless fun song with no bad lyrics! Your making a mountain out of a molehill. Nobody's forcing you to watch this video so shut up!
So funny that they started in one type of music and went on to southern gospel
Samuel Nance The ORBs actually started in SG then went country and have come full circle back to SG, although they still perform country regularly as well. I guess whatever pays the bills.
Wow memories i danced to Elvira in elementary school 38 years ago lol
Tell you
I remember as a 10 yr old (1981) singing it in cub scouts
who liked my comment
You've still got it, boys.
One of my favorite songs. I would sing along to Elvira to our LP. One of the best songs of all time.
I like your song Elvira
Well done , Thank you for singing this song. God bless you 🎵🎼🎶🎶
That still brings back great memories and happiness
beautiful
my middle name is ALMIRA and all my family and friends sing Almira instead of Elvira. love this song. Feel like it was written for me. Thanks guys. love you Oak Ridge boys
Thanks again for your support of my resume for all your time
Que preciosidad!!! Estoy como loca, con todos ellos. Gracias desde Barcelona. Me gustan tanto los jovenes, como los mayores. Gracias a todos !!!!!. Nona.
i love this song it has so much meaning to me i suffered my second stroke in yr 7 at my yr 7 graduation.
we made a dance to this song i missed doing on this night because during graduation i was rushed away by ambulance.
I love this song and the beat to it. I get up and dance to this everytime I listen to this
Love this!!
why you have the beard so long?
One of my all-time favorite songs!!
cannot tell you how much I enjoyed this... that bass is wicked!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Richard's lost a little bit of his lowest range, comes out a bit gravelly. But at 75 he's still got it in spades! Hard to believe these guys have been together for 45 years and that doesn't include the 8 years (1987-1995) that William Lee left the group. Tenor Joe Bonsall is 70 and joined the Oaks in 1973. Bass Richard Sterban joined in 1972 and Lead Duane Allen joined in 1966 - they're both 75 and baritone William Lee Golden, who joined in 1965, will celebrate his 80th birthday on January 12, 2019 and four days later they start touring again. What an amazing group (and, to be honest, it's really cool they're focusing on their Gospel roots once again).
Pàperròßesmakesmecry
It's more wicked they are playing thos song on a Christian show! Lol Oak Ridge Boys always being rebels!
is sterban the last of the old school bass singers left?
How would you define old school?
that's actually a good question. I had in mind JD Sumner, George Younce and that particular age group ......I think maybe Richard is the last of that bunch of bass singers. Hope he hangs around for a long long time
I'd definitely agree then. Maybe also Ray Dean Reese would qualify as well.
Richard is easily my favourite bass singer though. I reckon he has a lot of years left in him as well.
he is very good. met those guys several years ago when i was a kid, and i was just such a geek because they pretty much are musical heroes.
Ken Turner is still singing bass, but he is solo now.
Still awesome.
wonder whats wrong with Richards voice in this one
ray prickett I can't hear what's wrong with it. What do u think it is
sounds a little horse there at the end compared to other videos but still dong great
Maybe because the man is 75 years old and has been singing for over 50 years, 45 as a member of the Oaks.
They still sound as good as they did when I heard them in concert. Love the Boys.
I love this song so much! When I was a baby and would cry my daddy would sing this song and I would hush crying like magic they said. My father had a deep voice and he could make it sound so good to me all the way till I got to be a big girl. I love gospel music but this was great to hear them sing this song! God bless and thanks
Wonderful Music, that's how it's suppose to make feel, Alive With JESUS! God bless you!
Thank you boys from Elvira❤️
Oh boy does this bring back memories. I remember when I was a little girl Mom and I would dance around the house listening to this song. Such great memories! Thanks guys for posting this series of videos. God bless ya'll :)
