The man is a genius , I love his songs so much ,beautiful music matched with very clever lyrics , will never understand why his unique talent is not appreciated
3 years later... I will explain it to you. The music industry was and is a closed circuit and Gilbert caused a short circuit when he won a court case against one of the industry big shots from way back then, Gordon Mills. Gilbert discovered his recording contract greatly favoured Mills., so he sued. In 1982 a court found in O'Sullivan's favour, describing him as a "patently honest and decent man", who had not received a just proportion of the vast income his songs had generated. As a result Gilbert was henceforth shunned by the industry and for good. However his genius lives on and he has managed to continue on his own and independently. Another reason why I adore this man.

This very beautiful version of "Can't Get Enough of You" is in the playlist for the "Rare Tracks" album (1992), and different to the version from the "Off Centre" album (1980). Not sure, but maybe this "Rare Tracks" version comes from the UK single (1981), which someone said was different to the "Off Centre" version.

Beautiful song. Gilbert sang this song live on the Lena Zavaroni show way back in 1981. I have the tape and have been meaning to post it on YT for all his fans. I am a huge LZ fan!
anybody know who is Oliver Twist in this song .....its true GOS is rather unique ....
Oliver Twist was a book made into a movie titled “ Oliver”was played by Mark Lester. He was an orphan amongst the many in the orphanage His famous line “ please sir, i want some more” , was during a scene when he asked for more food. I saw this movie when i was 8 or 10 yrs old and im 57 years old now. I can never forget that line by Oliver. It was one of my favorite musical movie of all time.
